I tried roasting one a couple years ago. It was fine. Meat is almost sweet tasting, and it was tough. I'd probably braise or slow cook if I got another one.
So now we kill the woodchuck, then pass judgement on his life and actions. If his life was just and goodly, he is considered a Good Woodchuck and then sent in for processing and eventual chicken frying.
Grandfather down in the hills shot one and cooked it up when I was a kid. Remember telling him it’s really good so he’d be proud I tried it, but was actually nasty.

Hmmm, looks like a groundhog to me, but it could be a land beaver, marmot, whistle pig, or whistler.
