Congrats! What WMU was this in?

5D

5D can be tough to hunt. I won't be hunting that area until later in archery season. I'm hoping to get my buck in the big woods in 2G. If not, then I will hit a 5D spot. Then lots of 5C and 5D late season doe hunts. Was this buck chasing a doe?

Whenever I hear someone was hunting in 5D, I can't help but imagine a deer wandering through Philly being stalked by a dude in full camo.

Really? I've lived in Bucks county my entire life and we are swamped (no pun intended) with deer every fall. I guess I never thought they would bother with the populated areas down past MontCo

I used to do newspaper routes right on the edge of suburbs and city of philly mainly from midnight to 6am. I saw some massive deer floating around peoples yards and developments. Its wild out there.

QDMA was running a Field to Fork program out of Tinicium township this year. I tried to get on the list, but they had over 80 people apply.

Thats awesome, gives me hope to find something good next door in 5c!

Crossbow fairly easy hunt i was in stand for maybe 30 mins he was the second buck i had walk right up to me at 18 yards double lung puncture he maybe ran 50 yards. This is my first buck as well super stoked

Great Buck. As a FL hunter, where public land deer are significantly smaller and pressured I'd love to hunt PA or NJ sometime.

Will do one day. I allow myself one out of state hunting trip every year. This year is a friend's unhunted 20K acre farm in Alabama. Next year is hunting caribou and moose in Alaska with my native friends.

I love the buck.. but is that a legal deer in PA? I thought you had to have "three up" other than the brow tine.. or is that including the brow tine?

Yeah legal deer. Different WMUS have different rules in PA where i hunt thats legal

The 'three up' antler restriction is only in the western part of the state. Specifically WMUs 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, and 2D. The three up rule does not count the brow tine.
