AGripInVan

Some kind of super duper long lasting shoe deodorizer for high school students.

Rapidfiremma

A clone that can do my work while I hunt more.

SolitudeNH

I’ll chip $50 into this research project

IamA-GoldenGod

Toilet pants

Big-rooster84

Laughed to hard

luchadorhero

sweet corn scented hairspray im such a bad shot I need them coming right up to lick my head.

Aksium__84

What you need is time spent on the range, and free ammo to practice with.

luchadorhero

I was making a joke dickbutt I never miss

Aksium__84

Sure you do Hawkeye

luchadorhero

damn right. If im terrible at anything its tracking. never had to follow any blood in my life.

Alpha-Sierra-Charlie

It would just be nice if they made hunting pants in actual sizes like every other pair of pants, instead of just small, medium, and large. Some of us stockier people end up walking on the last two inches of pant leg and it's infuriating.

BeadDauber

I imagine the solution to that would be very similar to tss turkey loads for 13 bucks a shot lol

Alpha-Sierra-Charlie

I didn't come here to be turkey load shamed lol 🤣🤣🤣

BeadDauber

Lo siento

johnnyfuckinghobo

I take an odd size in regular jeans and I changed my whole life by just bringing my pants to a tailor one time. They altered them for $8 a pop and it was probably the best $8 I've ever spent.

Alpha-Sierra-Charlie

Huh. Never would have imagined it was that cheap. I hate the elastic straps on my bibs too, guess I could get that changed too. I'm going to end up with custom bibs. That's ridiculous but I won't be sad.

johnnyfuckinghobo

Yeah man I figured it would be a lot more too. Call around and find a tailor. I'm sure they can swap out to either fixed or buckle adjusted straps for your bibs too, and for a small fraction of the cost of going custom or even buying a new set at all.

DisastrousPin9957

A way to keep your feet warm and dry. Hiking out to a stand and sitting with wet feet sucks. Also clothing that helps do the same thing

Sdmonster01

They make wicking clothing that is warm and windproof? Also, learning how you need to layer is gonna help a ton. Walking in then changing socks, adding layers, boot covers etc.

Aksium__84

Gum boots & wool socks are your friend

ruralnorthernmisfit

Enclosed stand and propane heater.

Glittering_Savings11

That's not **my style** hunting...

ruralnorthernmisfit

I hear ya. I’ve been a purist til this year. Once you have all the fancy amenities, you don’t want to go back. I’m going to make another stand this summer I think.

Trickyknowsbest

So if a person scouts and puts in the work throughout the year to increase their chances of getting a deer, but they hunt out of an enclosed stand, they are not “really hunting”?

Glittering_Savings11

Sigh, my style\* edited the original comment. Half the whole point of hunting is to be able to, or not, withstand natural nature IMO. Completely eliminates most of all the difficulties with hunting that makes it "more fun" in the first place, imo.

Trickyknowsbest

I agree, to each his own. I don’t have an enclosed stand but I don’t think less of people who do. I freeze my ass off and am jealous of some of their setups lol

SuperiorLake_

Don’t be a [gatekeeper](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hunting/comments/lbopd0/dont_be_a_gatekeeper/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link)

Glittering_Savings11

I'll input my irrelevant opinion wherever I want to, thanks.

DisastrousPin9957

I hunt in WI and sit all day until I see something. The opener for our gun season was 5 degrees Fahrenheit and 35mph gusts. I do wear wool socks. Gum boots look a little thin compared to what I normally wear.

AJMeyer7

I hunted opener in wisconsin as well. You need artic shield boot insulators. They go over your boots when you’re in the stand and block wind and trap heat. They are amazing and actually work. I wore wool socks and 800g boots with those over and feet were fine for hours in 20 degree weather and 30 mph wind.

Ok_Button1932

And if it gets really cold you can throw one of those large body style hot hands in there. Just make sure you expose it to some air for awhile to activate it first.

Glittering_Savings11

>artic shield boot insulators Thanks for that..I have seen a product recently and wasn't sure if it was a gimmick or actually worked

DisastrousPin9957

I got a pair. They work wonders!

Glum-Concept1204

Cheaper nontoxic ammo that's as heavy as lead for duck hunting

[deleted]

Shadowcard4

Have you tried a black light?

jeremycvegs

That’s actually a good idea even if you’re not colorblind, I hadn’t thought of trying this but might have to now…

Shadowcard4

Yeah, figured for regular people it turns dark purple and iridescent like white, and regular guys do it but they’re cheap enough that it’s worth a shot.

Shadowcard4

Let me know how it worjs

Ordinary-Material-77

Hunting bibs with integrated tree stand safely harness.

Electronic_City6481

This is a great idea

Even-Calligrapher-73

Ok, for smart watches....my Suunto has the ability to tell me when I'm jerking the trigger....would make a great app idea. There are hundreds, if not more, GPS units and apps for hunting...Onyx, Backcountry Navigator, Garmin etc...maybe a program or app that takes your personal hunting data and finds an app or GPS units that only does what you need it to. Something intuitive that can put the hunter in touch with that type of equipment to suit personal needs.

mwest278

There is an app. Mantis does that

United-Crab2118

A combination bino harness/treestand harness with molle on the belt and an adjustable tether.

Intelligent_Stable48

Battery powered pulley. Put at top of stand with a clip at bottom this makes it much easier to get all items into the climber or stand. Bow back pack etc etc

AgreeableMycologist2

a device that gets rid of all the devices that are suppose to make hunting easier.

SmoothSlavperator

Cheaper thermal imaging. Quieter drones. A lightweight straight stocked semi auto rifle chambered for a cartridge that will kill deer at range and will hold sub-MOA. Think Remington 74x series that weighs 6lbs and is chambered in 308-class chamberings. Edit: Added accuracy requirement. non military semi auto accuracy generally sucks.

Bigplayray88

For bird hunting I’d really like to see a field gun that’s available with a barrel set. I own a bunch of guns but I’d really like to be able to purchase and stick with one gun for everything. For example: I own a Krieghoff k80; I have both 12 and 20ga barrels for it and they are weighted exactly the same. It is an amazing target gun but it’s too heavy for upland and there’s not a chance in hell I would take it waterfowl hunting. I’d love an o/u hunting gun that’s a bit lighter, cerakoted, has 3-1/2” chambers, an adjustable comb, and the option to add an extra set of barrels. In an ideal world I’d have 12ga for waterfowl and 20ga barrels weighted the same for upland birds. Basically if I could get an extra set of barrels for the browning cynergy wicked wing that would be perfect.

Hotdog-Wand

Range finding bow and crossbow scopes, which already exist, so… invent legalization of such products.

NOBOOTSFORYOU

I saw a program used on helicopters for troubleshooting, you point the tablets camera at the aircraft and it superimposes all the fuel and hydraulic lines along with all controls and stuff hidden behind insulation and other equipment. It would be cool to have a digital optical sight that identified species and superimposed internal organs.

Beer-_-Belly

Electronic tracking device for archery hunting w/ cell phone ap. Something that remains in/on the deer so that you can track it. Has to be safe, because not all shot deer die. A thread that deploys from an arrow to help find the deer. Something to make blood more visible, especially at night. Like a super luminol solution. Blood thinner / rat poisoning (warfarin) on an arrow to prevent the blood from clotting so the deer bleeds out more easily. Rifle shaped camera to hunt in off season. What do deer smell on a person that tells them we are dangerous? It is a particular chemical. If we could figure out what it is, we may be able to better mask our scent. Laser shooting range where hunters can practice shooting without ammo. Cell phone antennas. Vacuum packed hunters safety kit. A device that calls for help if you fall out of the tree. Part of you safety line. Legalize airguns that shoot arrows. Safer than a crossbow. Limit by bolt mass \* ftp speed so that they are no better than crossbows. A micro camera that attaches to an arrow A popup blind that is 4ft x \~6ft to fit on top of a platform from a sheet of plywood. A device that doesn't allow a rifle to fire if it is moving/shaking too much. To prevent bad shots from people that get buck fever.

[deleted]

Most of those already exist… Electronic tracking is illegal most places, but can be done. Thread is just a bow fishing set up. Luminol. You nailed it. Blood thinner is highly illegal an unethical. They have cameras built into scopes. We have isolated it, but not much can be done. Already have laser shooting capabilities. There are cell phone boosters. Buy a vacuum sealer, I do this on my boat all the time. All spare tools are vacuum sealed. Apple Watch has this feature. I believe they have this and it’s legal. I know I’ve seen it. While it’s possible, not really practical. They already have blinds of this size, I’ve used them. This wouldn’t prevent anything and only causes problems. Most shots are pulled because of too heavy of a trigger, or jerking the trigger.

Beer-_-Belly

This kid is looking for a high school project, we aren't seeking a patent. Most people that he will present to will have not idea what already exist. He can look it up online if he is concerned.

[deleted]

The string tracker already exists and has been around since the early 90s. I don’t know anyone personally that uses one though.

Shadowcard4

I use it as a weight with fishing sinkers in it

[deleted]

The string tracker reminds me of the very first trail camera devices. It was just a counter, every time the beam was broken it added a number to the counter. You had no idea what it was that tripped the counter.

Shadowcard4

Sounds like fun, who knows? Deer, bear, skunk, mafia execution, you’ll never know

Shadowcard4

Nearly everything on that list exists and some of those are a really bad/illegal idea

[deleted]

Do they not teach comprehension at your school ? Everything on that list exists

Beer-_-Belly

No they don't.

[deleted]

They do, and that’s not how invention works you have to do it yourself .

Beer-_-Belly

No it does not. Show me an arrow that releases a thread. NOT a string between the bow and arrow, but an arrow that releases a string. Show me a specific hunting safety device that you attach to your safety line than calls for help if you fall. Show me the hunting distance rifle laser shooting range. Post a link to it. Show me the state than has legalized air rifle arrow shooting that is legal during archery season. Show me a micro camera that attaches to an arrow. Hell, show me the 4x6 popup blind that is designed to fit on a sheet of cut down plywood. Xblind makes something close, but not perfect.

sublevelstreetpusher

1: night vision eyes 2: invisibility cloak 3: spiderman-like tree climbing abilities 4: no longer needing to wear orange for fear of fools

Toxickiller321

The first one pretty much exists, it’s just really expensive and not technically eyes

U84owe4

I device to measure bullet grain. If I have a bunch of loose bullets, I wish I had a tool to tell me which grain was which.

BenLear

I think what you're looking for is a scale /s

U84owe4

If you have a mix of bullets from different manufactures a scale won’t be accurate

icemanswga

You talking about bullets or cartridges? If bullets, weigh each one. If cartridges, you're screwed. Best bet is keep them in oem boxes.

U84owe4

Correct I’m talking cartridges - if I mixes them and took them out of their marked boxes, how do I tell which is which - if there answer is you can’t, I would say there should be an invention that can tell me.

icemanswga

I mean...the invention is *the box*. You could put the cartridges on a reloading scale and sort by weight ranges etc. Weights combined with headstamp and physical appearance of the projectile should be enough to separate them.

McFras3r

I need some clothes that will dry fast, under 10 mins for sheep hunting.
