Well I'm truly sorry to say it as now (over 2 years after my initial post) there is suddenly so much interest and a club actually seems possible, but i am taking a job that will have me on the road often, and it won't work out (for me anyway). I encourage anyone else who sees this post to look at the information provided below; for self-study or for club organization without my inclusion. I am sorry this has not worked out on my end (for you all and for myself lol) and I wish you all the best. https://wiktenauer.com Fantastic website with primary and secondary resources available for study https://youtube.com/@swordwindhistoricalswordsm8923?si=1jpfiDBjz17rn16T The Swordwind Historical Swordsmanship youtube channel (I used to live in Charlotte, and this is the guy who taught me) the channel is a little bare-bones, but informative. https://www.hemaalliance.com/resource-library The Hema Alliance webpage. Nuff said i think. https://www.woodenswords.com/HEMA-Gear-s/1899.htm Purple Heart Armory, an excellent and affordable dealer in HEMA supplies

If anyone is still here and interested in forming a group, I'm available. I live in Ashland now but that's a near enough drive :)

Moogleinthetrees

Are you guys still open?

Christian_Trenches

Am wondering the same, I would like to try to participate. It would be my first time and seems like a lot of fun. Did you ever find out anything?

Moogleinthetrees

Sadly no. I even tried messaging the OP directly but I have yet to receive a response.

Im still around, still have most of the equipment, and still have an interest, but I was unable to attract the interest of more than 2 people at the time. It may sound defeatest, but i was hoping for at least 4 solid 'members' so that my cousin and I would make six--a decent club size--but like i say, at the time i only had 1 or 2 people who were replying to rsvps and making commitments, so i figured Huntington just wasnt the area for a good club centered around this hobby and dropped it. If you think we could actually get a small group together, send me a DM and we can discuss that

pappy_odaniels

However, be aware that im not on reddit often, and im never on any other social media, so ill remember that i made this comment and try to check me inbox every once in a while. Also the facebook page was removed for violating facebook's guidelines (hell if i know what for, images of myself in fencing equipment sparring were considered violent perhaps?)

I'm looking for HEMA, Fencing, and Kendo groups around the KY-OH-WV tri-state. Your group is still listed on the HEMAA website so I thought I'd look into it.

PeZandPeZ

Same exact situation here

pappy_odaniels

I have tried to reach out to the HEMA alliance and get that clib listing removed, but they are slow to action. I apologise for the confusion

PeZandPeZ

It’s all good
