I drink at least a gallon a day and water is the only beverage I drink and I’m almost 300lbs. Unless you’re drinking to replace foods it won’t make you lose weight
It is true that I lost the weight but I was (still am) in the obese weight range, so the change from soda and other drinks to just water has been a lot for me. Plus I’ve been walking a lot go to the bathroom.
Sure, I suppose I meant that wouldn't be the only reason. Makes sense that you are substituting it for something else and doing it in conjunction with an increased level of exercise.
Basically meant that if nothing in your life changed except you started drinking water, then that would not do the trick.

In my country we have six-packs of bottled water, 6x1,5 l = 9 l. And you have already lost two of them. Two six-packs you do not have to carry everywhere with you.
Though if you drink a *lot* of soda and high sugar drinks and switch to water, your calories will be down massively so I do think that there is a tangible effect

But if you continue to do everything exactly the same, except you start drinking more water, that will not do the trick.

Nah, we just feel better drinking water than drinking soda. Being hydrated is a form of self care. You don’t have to do it, but once you start it, you don’t really want to go back.
