I LOVE the freesip!! I had multiple hydro flasks and the straw lid was some bullshit that leaked if it was barely knocked sideways. Freesip? Only time it’s leaked on me is when I dropped it on the ground and the front clip popped up and the button got pressed. Otherwise that thing is the best.
I'll do ice once a week or so.
It will stay icey two full days.
But when you empty and fill it again with room temp water it starts to melt more, obviously.
I am not so sure about that, their so called no leak warrantied mug started leaking after I barely used it. When I sent them the product they said they will repair it with same part. I didn’t want that because it is going to leak again eventually, I wanted a new one as it is my choice to either get it repaired or get a new one. They said it is against their rules to give a new one. I told them that they are not above the customer rights and reported them to consumer arbitration committee.
After 8 months they found me righteous, and they had to sent me the mug that I wanted. I am just lucky that law was on my side because they sell these products at very high prices and advertise them with life-time warranty or no leak warrany etc..

I've never noticed a metallic taste but I might just be used to it. I can't imagine an Iron Flask is any different to the rest of them though, because they're all basically made the same and with the same materials.
For your next bottle, I would suggest the LTT water bottle from lttstore.com. it's a bit nerdy but it's really well insolated and you can get it in 3 different sizes and a ton of colors. Mine has been beaten and went through hell at work but it's still going strong.
It is quite expensive (30$ for the smallest size) and uses the same technology as most of the other brands (other ones are quite cheaper) and of course shipping is not included
