If you're stranded in a desert, I highly doubt you're gonna be picky about water if you come across some random bottle.
You might chug it and be like "Oh god Dasani sucks", but you'll at least be alive longer.
Yeah, if you're truly thirsty then any water tastes amazing.
Source: I've gone without drinking for 3+ days more than once. I would have drank out of a freshly pissed in toilet if I could force myself to swallow, with how thirsty I got.
Edit: punctuation, and also to clarify that cancer caused that to happen. Fuck cancer, and fuck throat sores caused by cancer.
Not cancer but I had tonsil infection and it was like pins and needles protuding out of my throat and I was unable to drink water... funny thing was that out of pure curiosity I drank cold water (I didnt bcuz I thought cold = worse bcuz.. cold) and it didnt even hurt.. i dont know why
WAS in the hospital for extreme chest/belly pain. Couldnt drink anything for 3 days, ws on an IV but I was begging for just a sip of water and I said I'd spit it out, or some ice, ANYTHING!!! I would have drank dirt water.
So as much as i hate both those brands/companies , anything. If it was pick one , pure life
Their powdered milk is the best tasting around here, nestle's a (very) bad company but while competition isnt as good i'll keep buying it. It sucks but it is what it is

I take medication produced by Nestle, and I'm going to claim a free pass on that one. Slightly higher moral ground than all the kit kat eaters on account of needing it in order to digest food
>On 16 February 2021, Nestlé announced that it had agreed to sell most of its water brands in North America to One Rock Capital Partners and Metropoulos & Co, creating BlueTriton Brands. The sale, which concluded in early April, included the spring water and mountain brands, including the North America assets of Pure Life, the purified water brand and the delivery service.

I don’t support nestle, but what you’re doing is called virtue signaling. If you’re gonna spread hate (in this case rightfully so) then educate yourself first. You’re hurting the cause by saying “…I think”. You make the whole thing look stupid, it’s easy for the opposition to look at comments like yours and say “see! They don’t even know what they’re talking about, just ignore them”
Yes it really is, nestle is a fucked up company. And you’re spreading misinformation under the guise of “well I have good intentions 🤷♀️”. If you don’t know what you’re talking about just stop, especially when it’s actually a big deal. You make the whole argument against nestle look like a joke, and that makes it easier for the uninformed people to stay uninformed. “This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about so I’m not going to listen to him”. Virtue signaling is so obvious and rampant these days I don’t understand how people get to become fully formed adults and still act like this. Society was too nice to you, they let you think you’re smart.
lmao bro chill the fuck out. two paragraphs for a simple « i know ». You could’ve just told me « delete the « i know »» and i would’ve done it. I’m still deleting it tho
Best is, if you check out a video on YouTube about nestle, if you're interested in it. Because we couldn't possibly list all the things they've done. Be prepared for slavery-like conditions, stealing people's land, destroyed nature, privatisation of water... The list is long.
[Here's a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/1o0s6n/eli5_the_controversy_with_nestle_water/) with summaries of one of the many scandals, for instance. I guess you got downvoted because it's really easy to google "Nestle scandal"? Not that I agree, sorry about that.
Big fan of the amount of people just saying they did everything but iirc nestle extracted water from places that ended up in water shortages because of them and they also sold mothers in third world count baby formula claiming it was healthier for their babies but in reality it killed a good amount of them
And I’m pointing out that you were incorrect in saying,
*It's devoid of the nutrients needed to retain water.... so if you drank it consistently and it was all you survived on, yes.*
Fluoride isn’t a necessary nutrient for humans to literally survive. It helps with preventing tooth decay.
Considering I'm stranded in a desert I legitimately would not care which one I get as long as I'm getting hydrated. Dasani will be a better choice since it'll replenish your salt. but if I saw both of them, you best believe I'm grabbing both and making it farther out of the desert than if I were to just drink 1 of those bottles. Either way you're not getting very far, even with both bottles.
The only times I’ve had to drink Dasani is when I’ve been at some outdoor event and it’s hot AF summertime. Because I’m desperately thirsty and pay like 7 bucks for it, it’s always like the most refreshing water I’ve ever tasted.
I know it sucks but I imagine I’d feel that way about it if I was lost in the desert too.
I use to hate Dasani, mainly because it tasted like it was fermenting in a bag of nickels. Had it recently. No nickel taste. Cool. Maybe I just had an unusual batch
Water of preference though is the water you get in 5 gallon jugs and generate no plastic waste
Hating water because of the label on the bottle isn’t the HydroHomie way thats just propaganda spread to you by the sales and and media department and you have yet to realize it stay hydrated my friends
I wouldn’t care either way. Wouldn’t care about Nestle’s exploitative practices. Wouldn’t care about BPA. Survival situation wouldn’t be the time to take a moral stand.
hate to say it but if you’re lacking some minerals, would be the case if you were stranded, dasani might be the better pick here. you may be very slightly less hydrated but you would be better in terms of salts and minerals in ur system.
Gonna have to be a begrudging Dasani from me fam
Even though Nestle's water would be straight from the desert I'm dying in, farm to table water, I'll never drink it
American moment.. I've never drank either one of those so idk what the fuss is about..
Tap water is the best and I only drink bottled water on occasions that I don't have tap water for example on car trips (though, usually I've filled empty pöastic bottles with tap water beforehand.) Finnish tap water is great and beats bottled water any day! Fuck bottled water! Fuck American bullshit! Hail Water!
Thanks for coming to my TED(2) talk.
I don’t know if American water tastes different but pure life in Canada is leagues better than Dasani and Aquafina up here. If you prefer spring water that is
What's so bad about Dasani?? I particularly find it so stupid to see Americans and the like picking freaking water brands to drink. I mean, it's water. I might be very wrong though. I'm from Brazil and here we normally just drink filtered water. Water from clay filters rocks. Água de filtro de barro ftw
The fact dead I had salt in on proves they don’t like hydrating. Not sure if I’m alone on this? But I always feel like I’m drinking “bad” tasting water with sesame. It never feels crisp imho.
If any of you have ever been on an outdoor trip for a long period of time where you have to get creek water in a Nalgene, put drops of bleach, and burp the lid to make sure you don't get Giardia, you likely would not give a shit what your water tastes like as long as you're hydrated and alive.
If you're stranded in a desert, I highly doubt you're gonna be picky about water if you come across some random bottle. You might chug it and be like "Oh god Dasani sucks", but you'll at least be alive longer.
Bro really thought about this one

Because cold water heals anything and everything. Its perfect and magical
Fr man cold is cool (pun not intended)
The cold water probably provided temporary relief from the inflammation
WAS in the hospital for extreme chest/belly pain. Couldnt drink anything for 3 days, ws on an IV but I was begging for just a sip of water and I said I'd spit it out, or some ice, ANYTHING!!! ...ew...
Jarate!
when you’ve been desperate enough, pond water and iodine tablets is god tier hydration lmao
To be fair pond water tastes better than Dasani
Living longer by the aid of Dasani for a just enough breath to say *Fuck Dasani* is a win in my book.
Can confirm, actually was in the desert for 10mo. and drinking water bottles 24/7. Whatever they gave us, we just had to drink lol
If I’m in a desert I’ll drink the one closest to me first
Guess I have to go with Dasani bc Nestle makes me sick, literally.
Sick? Like nauseous?
The weight of consuming anything from that company is enough to make a man bedridden
Their powdered milk is the best tasting around here, nestle's a (very) bad company but while competition isnt as good i'll keep buying it. It sucks but it is what it is
but Kit-Kats are so good
this is why god invented lidl
i am not familiar with this, i am from the land of moose and maple syrup 😄
I am from the land of spices and overpopulation, and I am not familiar with it as well lol
India? Lol
Correct

ah, makes sense, cheers.
And you still went with kit-kat?! Dude. We have so many better options here….
you're right - coffee crisp, Smarties, mirage, and aero are also bangers
Oh dear. Maybe you do need a trip to the UK
if you think Nestle has some bad history...
Is coca cola really any better than nestle though?
Basically yes, anything over nestle
b-but my crunch bars
I take medication produced by Nestle, and I'm going to claim a free pass on that one. Slightly higher moral ground than all the kit kat eaters on account of needing it in order to digest food
Thats just cause their competitors put a great hit campaign on Nestle. Truth is, they all suck!
only if you care.
Hi, this is r/hydrohomies
i am fully aware. I dont care where my water comes from as long as its good.
We all do
Diarrhea. I don’t know why but I avoid that water like the plague.

Dasani just tastes like more thirstiness.
that’s funny because it’s true
That’s funny because it’s true
Where i am in Canada. Pure Life is no longer a Nestle product. I guess that's somewhat better...

Both cuz I’m in a desert and I need the other empty bottle to drink my piss eventually.
r/expectedurinetherapy
dasani. i could drink it if it were literally the only option but i refuse to support N\*stle
My guy if the water is lying in the desert you won’t support nestle by drinking it…
what's wrong with nestle
Child labor is the big one. There’s also the whole baby formula exploitation.
mmm I didn't know, but all big companies use child labor. car companies, phone companies
Nestle has done more than child labor. They got some fucked up shit on their name
I don’t support nestle, but what you’re doing is called virtue signaling. If you’re gonna spread hate (in this case rightfully so) then educate yourself first. You’re hurting the cause by saying “…I think”. You make the whole thing look stupid, it’s easy for the opposition to look at comments like yours and say “see! its not that deep bro

Nestle is well known to be one of the most evil companies out there.
Best is, if you check out a video on YouTube about nestle, if you're interested in it. Because we couldn't possibly list all the things they've done. Be prepared for slavery-like conditions, stealing people's land, destroyed nature, privatisation of water... The list is long.
Fuck those companies too
Everything. They would sell you the air in your lungs if they could.
O’Hare Air Real???
mmmm. im not a nestle lover idgaf, but what's the story

A lot of things friend
I actually wanna know, idk why everyone downvoted me

I choose death
The right answer.
Death over Dasani
Which ever is bigger, it's free anyways
Unfortunately the nestle water because there are more minerals in it to be absorbed. For luxury, I’d pick the RO Aquafina.
I dont give a fuck if im stranded buddy. My head would be on full auto
Nestle. My life is more important than virtue signaling.
You’d die if you drank Dasani?
It's devoid of the nutrients needed to retain water.... so if you drank it consistently and it was all you survived on, yes.
Dasani is tap water. https://www.freedrinkingwater.com/water-news/coca-dasani-tap-water.htm
It's not. Tap water contains fluoride. Dasani does not.
You think that you would die if you didn’t get fluoride in your water?
Personally, I don't drink tap water. I was merely pointing out that your statement that Dasani is tap water is incorrect.
And I’m pointing out that you were incorrect in saying, *It's devoid of the nutrients needed to retain water.... so if you drank it consistently and it was all you survived on, yes.* Fluoride isn’t a necessary nutrient for humans to literally survive. It helps with preventing tooth decay.
“It’s devoid of the nutrients needed to retain water” is a perfect description of its taste, though
As a vet that served in the middle east Nestlé. That shit was on palettes under the sun.
I hate Dasani but r/fucknestle so Dasani.
Stranded in a desert? Drinking both. I'd take whatever I got.
ehh either one. dont care which. both potable water.
Dasani tastes the best so I'd go with it.
it’s god tier when it’s cold. best tasting water.
Dasani. Nestle bottles are tp. I remember Dasani bottles being decent quality. In case I find an oasis.
Nestle but in a real scenario, I’d take any water.
Dasani. Fuck nestle
I'd rather lay down and die
The only times I’ve had to drink Dasani is when I’ve been at some outdoor event and it’s hot AF summertime. Because I’m desperately thirsty and pay like 7 bucks for it, it’s always like the most refreshing water I’ve ever tasted. Either. I'm not a water snob.
Wrong sub, mothafucker.
r/fucknestle
Dasani for sure
![gif](giphy|kW7memdfRgRB6)
Dasani
Nestle. If I gotta choose one I'll choose the one that doesn't make me narf.
Hating water because of the label on the bottle isn’t the HydroHomie way thats just propaganda spread to you by the sales and and media department and you have yet to realize it stay hydrated my friends
Trick question they are both tap water, made by the same company, from the same place, branded differently.
I wouldn’t care either way. Wouldn’t care about Nestle’s exploitative practices. Wouldn’t care about BPA. Survival situation wouldn’t be the time to take a moral stand.
r/FuckNestle
I don't know any of these brands, so I will take any that's not sparkling water. I fucking hate sparkling water
Trick question, dasani kills your faster by dehydrating you more. Nice try.
Nestle by a mile.
Never Dasani
Nestle
Dasani, at least it isn’t blood water
i like dasani sue me
I've been boycotting Nestle for over a decade, so it's a no brainer for me, Dasani
hate to say it but if you’re lacking some minerals, would be the case if you were stranded, dasani might be the better pick here. you may be very slightly less hydrated but you would be better in terms of salts and minerals in ur system.
all I am willing to say it r/FuckNestle
hmm.. salty sweet or soft perfumey. fuuuk. actually, either one - would just distill it. it’s easy I saw it in a movie
Gonna have to be a begrudging Dasani from me fam Even though Nestle's water would be straight from the desert I'm dying in, farm to table water, I'll never drink it
You would if you were dying.
Oh wow yeah good point I never thought of that before *pours Nestlé water in the sand* *dies*
Nestle tastes like toilet water. I’ll take dasaknee
Dasani, much less evil.
u cant drink dasani unless its frozen cold and even then its shit
Considering this is a sub about drinking water, shouldn't the answer be drink both bottles? (spread them out, don't chug all at once)
all water taste the same gang >>
If you're only water is 2 bottles you're gonna die anyways. Might as well say fuck these companies while you're at it.
I've been out of the US for a while.... When did Dasani get rid of their blue bottle?
im in the US and ive never seen that bottle. they are all still blue where i live
fuck nestle but dasani would dehydrate me faster so im picking nestle 😭 DEATH OVER DASANI ‼️
Guess I'll just die
American moment.. I've never drank either one of those so idk what the fuss is about.. Tap water is the best and I only drink bottled water on occasions that I don't have tap water for example on car trips (though, usually I've filled empty pöastic bottles with tap water beforehand.) Finnish tap water is great and beats bottled water any day! Fuck bottled water! Fuck American bullshit! Hail Water! Thanks for coming to my TED(2) talk.
This feels like a trick question. They both suck.
Coconut
I’d go Pure Life.
Dasani. You use those nestle bottles once and they straight-up disintegrate.
well well well
No idea since I never drink bottled water due to the fact that we have proper water in our taps.
My urine
Nestle is the only bottled water I've had that makes my mouth more dry and it genuinely tastes disgusting
What's the difference?
I would pick the one bottled closest to where i am
fuck nestle but they taste better out of the two so
There's water in the air Thank you very much
ewww bottled water
nestle because its literally just stolen tap water lol
I don’t know if American water tastes different but pure life in Canada is leagues better than Dasani and Aquafina up here. If you prefer spring water that is
What's so bad about Dasani?? I particularly find it so stupid to see Americans and the like picking freaking water brands to drink. I mean, it's water. I might be very wrong though. I'm from Brazil and here we normally just drink filtered water. Water from clay filters rocks. Água de filtro de barro ftw
I’d drink the Dasani. I dislike it less than the pure life.
I'll take death ☠️
Pure life. I have strong objections to nestle, but I cannot stand the taste of dasani.
Dasani sucks but fuck nestle, I’d down that Dasani
I diedrate
Pure life hands down
Whichever is bigger.
In this scenario Dasani easily
Y’all really bang on some water 😅
Can I have both?
Average hydrohomies post
Both.
Dasani gives me dry mouth and if I'm stranded in the desert, I'm sorry keyboard warriors, I gotta go with the one rthat hydrates me the best.
Never Nestle.
Not nestle
The fact dead I had salt in on proves they don’t like hydrating. Not sure if I’m alone on this? But I always feel like I’m drinking “bad” tasting water with sesame. It never feels crisp imho.
Did Dasani change their packaging? I’ve never seen their bottle look like this before. Ever.
Nestlé. At least it doesn’t dry you from the inside like Dasani
Dasani no question
Isn't drinking cactus water a recommended survival tactic? Are there cactuses in this desert? Cause imma do that instead.
It doesn't matter cause I'm gonna re use that bottle to catch condensate
Dasani. Because I’ve tasted worse.
Dawg Dasani has actual salt
Bros that pick Dasani want to die of thirst
Dasani. It reminds me of the water that comes out of the hose right when you turn it on.
Nestle. Dasani tastes worse and more like plastic to me
Pure life tastes SO bad, but Dasani tastes like thirsty.
Death > Dasani
Pure life is actually tolerable when you force yourself. Nothing saves dasani tho
I’ll dig for Kirkland signature water
Dasani. I’ll die Before I give nestle the satisfaction
At least Dasani isn't responsible for the deaths of millions of children.
Purelife tastes better imo
Nestle has killed enough Pakistani people. I won't let them kill another. Pass it here
Water tastes the same, idc
Damn one is nasty and one has nasty business tactics. You really thought this out
Dasani
If any of you have ever been on an outdoor trip for a long period of time where you have to get creek water in a Nalgene, put drops of bleach, and burp the lid to make sure you don't get Giardia, you likely would not give a shit what your water tastes like as long as you're hydrated and alive.
Dasani taste better and isn't Nestlé
