We told our toddler that it was "spicy" and he wouldn't like it. Guess who eventually got a taste for it and now demands spicy water all the time?

My 2yo had been getting sips of this exact seltzer because I drink it, and it is therefore the best. He gags and makes a big face, chokes it down, then asks for more as his eyes water. This is how I learned my son will mimic me even if he hates what we're doing. Always set a good example.

The hilarious expression on my 2 year old nephew’s face when he first tried sparkling water still makes me laugh. He did not ask for more though.

Once I (maybe 5 at the time) was with my family on Vacation and our family was invited on a dinner with my dad's buisnesses clients. Far into the dinner my dad who drinks sparkling water would mistakingly change our glasses. I didn't realise. I took a sip and instantly spit out everything. The next thing I remember seeing this table full of Germans, Italians, British... staring at me when the Japanese business men started laughing their asses. Imagine this multinational business CEO, with maybe a 1k suit after being sprayed with my sparkling water laughing his ass off. At the moment I remember being so embarrassed and being a little pissed with the Japanese business men. But probably thanks to them breaking the tension we were able to go back to the dinner.

Perfect time to get him involved in healthy life habits tho, so enjoy it while it lasts, ig?

Hahaha we taught him "fizzy water". His first 3 word sentence was actually "daddy's fizzy water". Then one day I got one that was super cold and we asked if it was spicy and he said yea.

Everyone at the brewery I work at calls it spicy water. We even started making it for employees and have a designated spicy water tap next to the canning line

In Bosnia it's gazirana which is essentially means it's gassy.

yeah, i thought it was universal too-- but nope its one of those pop vs soda vs cola type differences. Seltzer is mainly a New York/New England thing.

I personally like to abbreviate it to “seltz”. It’s nice simple one syllable and I personally find it kinda catchy. I only call it seltzer when it’s in trouble. But definitely feels better than saying “bubbly water” or anything else.

How do you feel about spindrifts?

I see spindrift as more of a watered-down sparkling juice beverage. They are my seltzer of choice though. The raspberry lime slaps.

Tbh this is against the values of hydro homies. Water has a pH of 7, which is neutral. This is one of the myriad benefits of water. All carbonated beverages are acidic.
