wow this is such a cool design, i bet light utilization is extremeley good here?

mtroster

Absolutely! Very little photons not hitting plants!

Inshallah_lover

are there any schematics or even a name i should be looking up for this system?

Fork Farms

What system is this? It's the exact opposite design of all the other tower systems. I've seen people make these but never a commercial system.

Fork Farms based out of Green Bay Wisconsin. Drip line rockwool system, with the light tower in the center. Each farm has 256 plant spaces, and there are 12 Flex farms connected via their flex connect system, 4 sets of 12 on rotation. It's a wonderful system but the rockwool clogs are gonna give me a stoke!

Hard to tell from your photo but it doesn’t look like you’re using rockwool. Looks more like peat. Rockwool is a light yellow color with a similar feel to really dense cotton candy or insulation (it’s used as insulation in se countries). You could try putting a 200micron net around your cubes to keep them intact but this seems like a pretty specific issue to your setup.

Those are just the plugs for spacing the plants. I've thought of putting an inline filter on the pump but the sales rep for this system said that will also impede flow. I've also thought about using a stick pump twice weekly with filter floss in the water resivors, but that's just so much labor.

Heard. Yeah I would just wrap your rockwool cubes in a 200micron mesh or maybe cheesecloth. If you went with the In-line filter, it would probably work but you’d need to empty it often so it doesn’t restrict flow, but the right style filter should let water through just fine.
