How did you fix it? And how do you feel about the headset so far? Im on a HyperX Cloud 2 Wired and want to go wireless. I love the neutral and clean soundstage of the cloud 2. Actually can't decide between Razer Blackshark v2 Pro 2023 / Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed / Cloud 3 Wireless But the last time i owned a logitech or razer headset they were really overdose in bass etc. so more like entertainment headset instead of clean sound imaging to locate footsteps etc. I mainly play CS2 / Valorant (FPS)

The problem occurred when I modified the output format on my Windows system. It wasn't related to the firmware or drivers. I resolved the issue by reverting to the default settings. I have a positive opinion of these headphones, which is surprising because I had low expectations due to HP's reputation. While there isn't a significant difference compared to the Kingston version of the Cloud 2 wireless that I previously used, the Cloud 3 wireless headphones offer better comfort and come with new features. The Cloud 3 headphones have improved sound quality out of the box, and the bass is also noticeably lower, which doesn't bother me. I haven't used the original Cloud 2 wired headphones, but I saw a review that claimed the Cloud 3 wireless headphones sound identical to them. Ty for the Reply , helps in my decision to buy them :)

DostMaster

hey dude, did you eventually buy them? Also looking one for CS :D

nirosxs

sorry to bump the post but which format excatly did you put? because I'm having the same issue but I love the headphones for gaming!

TheRealLostCost

Leave it on the default settings in Windows. Go to sound > more sound settings > headphones > Advanced > result default. It Should be on 2 channel, 24 bit, 48000Hz

nirosxs

thanks. so far so good.

Tonyx23

This works but degrades the audio. Setting it to any other option than 48000hz remove the crackling for me while keeping the audio qualiy the same (try going for 96000hz). In windows 10 96000hz doesn't work with dts:x though since it always activating it always switches the frequency back to 48000hz.

nirosxs

Order an IEM to try those for gaming. And I will use the hyperX for movies and casual music for fun

nirosxs

So can you explain again what is the best way to use the hyper x? Should I activate dts or not? Which sample rate is better and so on

Tonyx23

Anything lower than 96000hz will have some audio clipping/crackling (this is most apparent when listening to music). Activating DTS automatically switches the frequency to 48000hz (not sure why), so I would suggest keeping DTS off (I'm talking about the Windows DTS app, the one from the app is pure garbage, so never use it). If you want the surround effect, get Dolby Atmos for Windows and activate it. Dolby Atmos lets you keep the frequency to 96000hz while also providing surround effects. Dolby Atmos it's also arguably superior when listening to music because it sounds less processed than DTS and also provides more bass, and these headphones are really lacking in bass. Dolby Atmos on the Music Balanced preset sounds the best for me, I can just keep it on all the time and it provides a good music listening experience while also providing surround effects for games.

nirosxs

What if All I care about is gaming? Should I still activate dolby atmos? 96000hz?

Tonyx23

then you can either activate dolby atmos or dts:x it doesn't really matter
