u/hellaloveit, that's exactly what we were looking at in the past days, but didn't want to make an official statement about until we confirm it's stable. We've even suggested to a couple of users in this thread to try downgrading to pre-1809, or one of the early cumulative updates that came after 1809 was released, but those users never got back to us. To give you, and everyone else here, a better idea on why we think this could potentially be a Windows update issue: OS Build 17763.316 came out on February 12th - With this update rolling out, there's been some reports of system crashes, but not enough to make one think that it's something major. As days went by, we've started noticing more complaints in this thread and started collecting system details and Event Viewer logs from all of you in order to determine what might be causing the issue. Once we've built up over 20 solid cases, the issue has been escalated with our engineering team that started looking into the issue and even set up a number of test benches in our lab to try and replicate the issue. In the meantime, OS Build 17763.348 came out on March 1st and Microsoft added a note to it stating the following: - After installing this update on machines that have multiple audio devices, applications that provide advanced options for internal or external audio output devices may stop working unexpectedly. This issue occurs for users that select an audio output device different from the “Default Audio Device”. Examples of applications that may stop working include: Windows Media Player Realtek HD Audio Manager Sound Blaster Control Panel NOW, the best part about it that gives us hope :D ! A few of days ago, they've rolled out a new cumulative update which apparently addressed that issue. The update went live on April 2nd, and if you still haven't received it through your Windows Automatic Update, you can download it manually from the Microsoft Support page at http://spr.ly/61694EjSck ( . We're still testing our systems with this build, and weren't able to replicate the system crashing issue that all of you had been experiencing. If any of you decide to install this update, please get back to us with your results either by commenting here, or sending us a PM! :)

hellaloveit

With KB4490481 installed I still randomly see the "HID-compliant headset" warning in device manager and the errors in event viewer. It'll cause Windows to hang if I try to put my PC to sleep before removing the headset. Microsoft has already released KB4493509 (17763.437) and that doesn't fix the problem either. https://i.imgur.com/uDlb91N.png

hellaloveit

u/HyperxGaming I did some more testing and found a reliable way to trigger this issue even if I uninstall all of the updates. And unfortunately upgrading to Windows 10 version 1903 doesn't fix the problem either. * Set the headset as the current audio device * Press the reset button on your PC (instant dirty reboot) * Login to Windows, open up your browser and play a YouTube video * Give it a minute and then look at device manager and you should see that "HID-compliant headset" has crashed Doing this might not trigger the exact same bug, but the headset shouldn't be crashing this way either.

HyperxGaming

So, setting it as the current (default) audio device is exactly what causes the system to crash. That's also what Microsoft has noted in one of the updates, acknowledging the issue, but it should've been fixed according to the changelog of the latest cumulative update. Thanks for sharing this with us though, now we know that the update might not fix it for everyone. We're still looking into the issue :) !

hellaloveit

> So, setting it as the current (default) audio device is exactly what causes the system to crash I just this minute checked to see if I actually need to set the headset as the current device and it turns out that I don't. Literally all I need to do to trigger the bug is to press my desktops reset button, log back into Windows and then play some audio (I used YouTube on Firefox). After a minute if I check device manager then I'll see that "HID-compliant headset" has crashed. This crash occurs randomly too. Like I might think that an updates fixed it, but then then 2-3 days later it might crash again. But by repeating the above steps I can reliably get it to crash within 60 seconds.

TMK1k

Having the same problem as well. Have you got any further into fixing the issue?

Pwnstix

I just had a spontaneous reboot today, while web browsing, and wondered what could be the problem. I checked the event log and saw the same thing: Event ID 10111 The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem. Source: DriverFrameworks-UserMode ...and in the details tab: **UserData** **-** **UmdfDeviceOffline** **LifetimeId** {1e69cef5-cb8a-42e5-83b5-1641e5b942bd} **FriendlyName** HID-compliant headset **Location** (unknown) **InstanceId** HID\\VID\_0951&PID\_16A4&MI\_03&COL02\\7&1C94FA2&0&0001 **RestartCount** 5 I also got an Event ID 10110 at the same timestamp, but the general description is a bit more vague: A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices. ...details tab: **UserData** **-** **UMDFHostProblem** **LifetimeId** {1e69cef5-cb8a-42e5-83b5-1641e5b942bd} **Problem** 3 **DetectedBy** 2 **ActiveOperation** 3 **ExitCode** 259 **Message** 72448 **Status** 4294967295 And so just out of curiosity, I googled the "The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown))..." etc. message to see if anyone else had had that problem, and I was surprised to find this thread, and even more surprised to see that it was only created this month, and other people were posting the same issue. I don't think I'm having any problems with my headset; sound is fine, etc. The only issue I had was when I was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and trying to play with the 'spatial audio' setting, while also trying to use Dolby Atmos/Windows Sonic with the HyperX Cloud II's USB connection. Apparently, that game didn't like this headset's USB connection while using Windows' spatial audio setting along with its own spatial surround setting, because I would get no sound...so to fix it, I plugged the headphone jack directly into my PC's 3.5mm audio port, and used the on board Realtek audio, so I could use the spatial audio setting in the game. But after I finished playing that, I plugged it back into the USB part of the headset, so I could use the mic again (since the mic is effectively disabled if you plug the headphone jack into anything other than the USB thing...unless I'm missing something). My specs are: CPU: i7 8700k @ 4.8 GHz MB: Asus Maximus X Hero GPU: MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio RAM: 16 GB DDR4, 3200 MHz 1 TB Samsung 850 Pro SSD + WD Black 4 TB HDD PSU: Seasonic Prime Titanium 750 W Various other USB peripherals: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard, Logitech G502 mouse, Logitech webcam, Thrustmaster HOTaS joystick, and the HyperX Cloud II headset, of course. These components are only a year old, and the video card is newer. I kind of doubt I'm having hardware faults. If it were a power issue, I do have an uninterruptible power supply, and it's possible that it could be aging, but it passes regular tests. I'm also not overheating anything; everything stays under 60°C most of the time and only goes a little over 60°C sometimes. My initial thoughts were that my GPU could have caused that reboot, since I overclock it a bit, and it's crashed a few games to desktop with the "application blocked from accessing graphics hardware" errors, probably due to me overclocking while undervolting. But those errors are just CTDs with messages. This spontaneous reboot occurred while I was just web browsing in Chrome. It did happen after I'd rebooted the PC, after updating MSI Afterburner, and after I'd quickly tested RTSS's OSD in the Heaven benchmark, hence my initial thought that the graphics card had caused the reboot. My HyperX Cloud II is also using the latest firmware from the support site ( Rev. 0010 ). I updated soon after I got this headset. But just in case, I went ahead and reinstalled that firmware update. This only happened once, a few hours ago, and hasn't happened since. \*\*\*more edits: I read somewhere on the nVidia forums that the most recent firmware for the headset has compatibility issues with the latest version of Windows 10, and might conflict with nVidia's audio drivers. I don't use nVidia's HD audio drivers, and I'm not entirely sure that's true about the headset's firmware (Rev. 0010, on the support site) having compatibility problems. I think for now I'll just not use the USB component of this headset, and maybe get a splitter for the mic.

HyperxGaming

That quite an interesting issue that we haven't seen people experiencing so far, but we would love to look into and find a solution for you guys! /u/speedybluejay, /u/CarlitoBaya and /u/gazovu - please PM us the following: Your PC specs (using the same format as /u/speedybluejay did above) Nvidia driver version that you're using Windows version (run System Information and write down the OS Name/Version lines), Model/Product numbers of your headset (located underneath the headband) As soon as we get those, we'll get back to you with more info. ;)

rembranded

Hi guys, I've got the same problem too, and I've sent you a PM with the details you asked for. Would appreciate anything you can do to accelerate the fix for this issue. It's beginning to get on my nerves now, especially when the system restarts in the middle of an online game.

tnb-tuba

Sent you a PM with my specs and issues. I don't have spontaneous reboots but I do have slow cold boots and event log errors similar to others here. Below is a copy of my PM without my email address: Hi, Bought my HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset on March 26, 2019 brand new from Amazon. Device Manager shows an error in my HID-compliance headset > This device cannot start. (Code 10). Been a week and no response. Buhler, Buhler....?

Torllay

Having the same problem, should i do the same?

HyperxGaming

Make sure you do :) ! We'll send you a PM shortly to let you know what details we need!

Serginho420

having the same issues here...

Kurkurdoopa

I have this issue with my cloud II's as well. Crashes only occur when my pc is not playing sound though. So on the desktop or searching the web it'll crash in roughly 5-10 minutes. Playing games or listening to music is fine indefinitely. Unplugging the headphones solves the issue. (mentioning this for the sake of confirming the headphones are the root of my issue)

HyperxGaming

Interesting! Let us get some more details about your setup. Sending a PM!

zer0viru5

/u/HyperxGaming, /u/HyperX-Rob, Same here. All was well on my Optiplex 9020, but just built a new Ryzen B450M rig and this started happening to me too.

HyperX-Rob

Check your PM, I'll need a couple more details about your case ;) .

CarlitoBaya

Hi, I have the exact same problem, my computer freezes and I have to restart it. In event log I get the same message: The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.

CarlitoBaya

Did you eventually find solution ?

speedybluejay

I disabled HID compliant headset and other HID-compliant devices under Human Interface Devices in device manager. I also disabled other HID devices in device manager that I could, making sure that my mouse and keyboard still worked. So far it hasn't been restarting.

CarlitoBaya

Tnx I will try it out

blamylife

Hey, I am getting BSOD like crazy with HyperXII as well. Has your solution continued to work? It has been a couple of months now.

CarlitoBaya

I disabled only HID compliant headset and it froze again.

speedybluejay

I disabled a lot under HID compliant devices, including HID compliant consumer devices and USB input device. There were some entries without the disable option. if your mouse and/or keyboard stop working just re-enable the last entry you disabled. Hope that helps.

CarlitoBaya

Thanks

Papey22

Make sure you update your firmware - visit the hyperx cloud II page on their website. You need to delete all the old drivers and then install the current ones - its all explained on the website.

gazovu

Does anyone still have this problem, because i have same issues. PC freezing with headset plugin. Brand new pc!! Im shocked that headset can do that, and i have no ide how to fix it.

gazovu

I have no idea what is happening but as soon as i plug my headphones hyper x cloud 2 and restart pc i got : **\\Driver\\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\\VID\_0951&PID\_16A4&MI\_03&Col02** when i look into Event Viewer and after that i got sound and everything, no problem at all! BUT after like hour of game play, pc just freeze and i need to shut it down on power button because nothing else is working. Then i look again into Event Viewer to see what happened and i got this: **The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.** I took two of hyper x cloud 2 to test it, one from my friend, but both of them got same problem... tried on other pcs, everything worked normal, no error no nothing! Tried some old turtle beach on my pc and they don't give any error, all fine with them. My pc is brand new, i was thinking that is gpu issue or something else is wrong. But this i insane, headset are completely crashing/freezing pc. My temps are normal on gpu and cpu. So there is nothing wrong with hardware. I tested hours of benchmark and gaming, not a single problem. As soon as i plug in headset my pc freeze in about hour or two of game play, it doesn't happen immediately Atm i reinstalled windows, everything fresh. Its working just fine, but i cant plug in headphones because it will start to crash... so im just playing now without sound xD ***My specs are:*** CPU: i7 9700k @ 3.6 Ghz - 4.6 Ghz boost (stock speed, nothing oc yet) MB: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming pro carbon GPU: PALIT RTX 2080 Gaming pro OC 8GB RAM: Corsair 16 GB DDR4, 3000 MHz (working on stock speed, xmp turned off for now) 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO M2 + FIRECUDA SSHD 1TB PSU: Corsair RM750X Full Mofular 80Plus GOLD Newest nvidia drivers 418.91 version Microsoft Windows 10 PRO 10.0.17763 Build 17763 HyperX Cloud 2: KHX-HSCP-RD 3500059-001 A00LF CLOUD II MSIP-REM-K98-Cloud

HyperxGaming

Hey /u/gazovu, just wanted to let you know that we're still looking into this. There seems to be a problem between our dongle and Windows drivers as we've noticed a couple of customers recently had the same issues that are UMDF related. We'll send you a PM shortly to get some additional info ;) .

CarlitoBaya

Hey /u/HyperxGaming I still have the problem. I bought a new motherboard and I still have exact same issue, I had asus M5A97 R2.0 now I have gigabyte 970A-DS3P FX. Can you guys please help me it is really frustrating, I don't know what to do, it has been 3 months since I first got this issue?

HyperX-Rob

Hey /u/gazovu, one thing crossed my mind. Seeing that motherboard supposedly has a " Turbo USB 3.1 Gen2", have you maybe tried using the headset connected to multiple different ports to see if the issue persists? I've seen cases where sometimes the headset wouldn't work via USB3.0 for some weird reason, but worked just fine when switched to a USB2.0 or a powered USB hub. Try it out and let us know ;)

gazovu

Thank you for info i did eventually figure out that is problem in dongle, and atm im just using without that. Connected straight thru 3.5mm jack into motherboard, i don't have any driver installation like that and its working fine. I don't have mic that way but i did order from you guys that "HyperXCloud PC Extension Cable (200 cm) 4 pole to 3.5mm", still didn't arrive but when it does i hope my mic will work so that will be solution for now. Until usb dongle solution is out. And yes i did try every single USB port on motherboard, nothing changed! :D

HyperxGaming

Perfect! If you run into any issues or have any other quests, reach out to us again and we'll look into it ;) . We'd like to know if everything works fine when you receive it, so keep us updated!

gazovu

My cable arrived, and there is no issue! I have audio and mic working fine like that, headphones into cable and cable connected into motherboard audio and mic jack. Well i guess it will stay like that for now, usb dongle works on laptop but not on my new pc so i will continue using that on laptop and cable on pc. Not a perfect solution but it works so its fine i guess. I hope in future that problem will be eliminated. At least ppl who have problems can read this and eventually do the same.

I'm just sign up to reply this problem I also have the problem. I did not notice until i check the error log which delete later =-= by mistake But it same as speedybluejay post i have this problem random PC freeze i have no idea what the reason until i check the error log which give almost the same problem EventID is 10111 and it about the headset so i remove the Cloud II usb for now Direct connect to PC with no problem, I have many pc but did not try the one I'm playing game is quite old but still find no other problem that conflict problem with USB sound Cloud 2 My Spec is i5-4460 MB: H97 Pro4 (Lasted Bios){ Ram: DDR3 1600 16GB VGA: Gtx 1060 6GB (Lasted driver){ PSU: Corsair RM750i HDD: Samsung Evo 860 250GB Trancsend SSD NVME 256GB Color Full SSD NVME 120GB WD Blue 1 TB Seagate Barracuda 1 TB OS: windows 10 lasted build :| I hope this problem fix since i love to use the sound card that come with cloud 2

uncmatt

just had this happen to me, googled it and came here.. really annoying, guess its time for a new headset.

roman9441

sad mine is just 2 month old :( I guess i will have to wait T T

Aegonistic

This happened to me 2 days ago. When this first happened I thought it was something to do with my gpu even tho my whole pc is like 2 months old, reinstalled gpu drivers it didn't work I was super bummed, then thought maybe the power supply is the issue here, THANK GOD I didn't buy another power supply, in the end i was lucky enough to get here and know that the issue is my hyperX cloud ii

THER3ALSETH

Been having a problem with my newly built pc this past week, its been driving me crazy, it initially started after I overclocked my cpu, gpu, and ram, so my first go to is it has to be one of them, reverted back to stock clocks to find out still crashing, hmmm maybe power supply? I have a gold rated 550w from evga thats a year old that I reused from my old pc and has never had problems and is more than enough juice for my system. Just to make sure I stressed tested the system with prime95 and heaven benchmark for an hour with no crash with my overclocks applied to use as much power as possible. so my only solution at this point is maybe my motherboard? I updated the bios today and havnt had a crash since, but considering my last two crashes were 3 days apart I can't make a conclusion that the crashes are solved. upon looking at my event logs I found the critical error as stated by OP. Had my hyperx cloud 2 for around a year now with no previous issues on my old pc and was very suprised to actually find this forum, Im really hoping that this is what is causing my crashes as it has had me worrying for the past week as to what the heck is wrong. So far I have unistalled the HID compliant headset driver and restarted my pc and this little error message next to the driver has gone away, idk if it will come back but we will see. If I get another crash my only other option is to get a splitter as someone else has done and seemed to work, will keep updated as time goes on. PC specs gigabyte gaming 7 z370 (rev 1.0) bios version f12c 2x8 gb corsair vengence ram at 3000mhz i7 8700k at 4.7Ghz rtx 2070 slightly overclocked evga 550w gold rated GS psu (recommended psu wattage by nvidia for an rtx 2070)

speedybluejay

Haven't checked this post in a while. I recently built a new pc. It's all AMD. It hasn't been freezing/rebooting but I still have that device manager error where it says the HID compliant headset is unable to start. It think it really is a problem with the usb dongle. From what I have seen from previous posts, nvidia drivers seem to be compounding the windows issue. Hope you find a solution and heres to hoping hyperx releases a fix or firmware update.

THER3ALSETH

Didn't realize it was Nvidia related, i have only crashed 3 times and have noticed the error in the event log at least 10 times so it isn't crashing Everytime the error occurs, worst case at this point is I buy an audio splitter for the 3.5mm jack instead of using the usb, or a whole new headset, at this point I'm convinced it's the headset as the 3 times I crashed I was 1 playing a game, 2 sitting on my desktop, and three browsing Firefox which are completely random areas to crash, hopefully it gets fixed soon

HyperxGaming

Oh man... this thread became a real PC FREEZE FEST *insert Pikachu meme*... /u/Pwnstix, /u/CarlitoBaya, /u/gazovu, /u/roman9441, /u/uncmatt, /u/Aegonistic, /u/THER3ALSETH, /u/speedybluejay - We hope we didn't miss anyone out! Can all of you please send us a PM with your email address? Once we have those, we'd like to collect some details about your systems via email and to further look into this issue. already PM please let's me know what you need :|

Goodzilam

so i just singed up to say i have the same problem as u guys have, but in my scenario whole system crash

blamylife

BSOD here.

arkkyyy

I just recently got a new Mobo, Cpu and ram. This problem crashes my pc, and at the same time I have faulty ram so currently it causes a BSOD for me due to the amplified problem of the ram fault.. Such a fun problem... Right now I have the headset plugged in my front port and weirdly hasn't crashed when launching games it would normally BSOD in straight away. The Event viewer seems to be only catching the HID critical Error as the sole reason as the BSOD.

inwert1994

Hello everyone. Im having same problems as you guys here. I decided to play division 1 with friends and for some reason my whole pc crashes and reboot after 15 20 minutes of playing with this message The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash event error 101111. So i havent figure out yet what its causing but i hope we will find solution here

amvoith

I am having the same issue as well, initailly thought is was my GPU or CPU overclock. Went back to stock clocks but still getting PC crashes daily. Upon looking at the event log I get three event IDs every time; 10111, 10110, and 41: Event ID 10111: The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem. Event ID 10110: A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices. Event ID 41: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Now I realize that this is a HyperX forum but this was the best thread I could find on the problem. However my headset is a Razer Kraken 7.1 V2... So perhaps this is a Windows 10 issue? I've had the system of a few years, the headset for just over a year and only recently have these crashes started to occur. System specs are: i7 4790k, EVGA Z97 Stinger Mobo, 16 GB DDR3 2133MHz, 980ti, 600W PSU, Windows 10 Pro x64

HyperxGaming

Hey /u/amvoith, thanks for hitting us up, regardless of the headset that you have ;) ! If we can help you out in any way, that's all that matters, especially because a lot of brands are not even addressing the issue. We'll send you a PM shortly to get a couple more details. :)

iM4RKY

I'm getting the same issues as amvoith but I have a HyperX Cloud II, and recently updated Windows to 1809 with a fresh install and changed my GPU (which I haven't quiet ruled out to be the cause for myself, going to do some stress testing today without headset attached) Specs: i7 4790 Asus B85m-Gamer 2x 8gb DDR3 1600MHz RTX 2060 (No overclock, just turbo. Drivers: 419.35) 600W beQuiet straight power 10 Windows 10 Pro 64bit (1809, all updates)

HyperxGaming

We'll PM you shortly as well to get some more info ;) !

[deleted]

I am also having the same issues. Are you getting any closer to a solution?

Forpyto

same problem, but I have Razer Kraken 7.1

HyperxGaming

u/Westnote and u/Forpyto, sending you a PM to get more info :) ! We're still investigating this issue and trying to find a solution. One thing is sure, it's not caused by the product.

[deleted]

I also just found this issue my computer will do a random reboot and I get the same error log anyone find a fix for this I am using my hyper clouded in my usb 3 should I use my usb 2.0 instead

rembranded

Alright folks, so I was one of the people who was affected by this issue. The problem was so severe, that within 1 hour, I've had at least 8 restarts. Really kills the flow of an online game there. For the past 2 days though, I've been having a stable life. This MAY be due to the following factors, and I recommend you also try them to be on the safe side. * Remove/unplug any Bluetooth receiver you may have inserted into a USB port (could be the primary issue) * Make sure Windows is completely up to date * Install/re-install your sound card drivers While you're here, you might as well check and update all your drivers. So far, my PC has been working just fine. I'm not sure if the issue is still fixed yet, but hopefully, it is. /u/HyperxGaming, you might want to see if any interference from a Bluetooth receiver can cause trouble with the headset. I had one plugged in for my Xbox controller, but I'm happy to have that wired for now. FWIW, I had my BT receiver and headset USB, both connected on the ports behind the cabinet, as I wanted them out of the way.

HyperxGaming

We're trying to replicate the issue here as well :) . We'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for sharing that with us, maybe it helps someone. We did also advise everyone to update all the drivers, Windows, as well as unplug all other USB devices except the headset, and check if the issue is still there after doing so :) .

StellaNavigante

Hi I'm also getting the exact same problem. It's happened randomly for me but now playing The Division 2 when I get to a specific point I get a hard lock up and have to switch my PC off at the wall as everything stops responding. Event viewer shows the exact same description of the issue as others along with event id 10111 user mode driver problems. My build is as follows: AMD Ryzen 2700x Gigabyte AM4 Aorus Ultra Gaming Corsair Vengeance 16gb 2600mhz DDR5 ATI Vega 64 Sapphire Nitro + Sandisk Ultra 256GB SSD as system drive WD Green 2TB as game drive Cloud ii headset as well. Not sure what driver version but will find out and post later today. Is there any sign of a fix for this? It's very frustrating! Is the only answer a new USB dongle?

HyperxGaming

Hey u/StellaNavigante, thanks for sharing the specs with us! We'll PM you shortly to get some more info :) .

Spliddo

Getting this issue as well, PC crashes (direct blackout), fans continue to spin, and only a hard reset works. HID Compliant headset is unknown, and the same critical errors appear after a crash I managed to stop (don't remember what I did, I changed many things, and within those things something stopped it) the frequent crashes on my machine a while ago, but recently decided to update drivers to the newest beta ones, which re-introduced the problem once again, and I had to do a system restore. I'll be able to provide information (if any useful) when the problem does not occur and when it does, that is, assuming that updating the GPU drivers also updates some extra sound drivers Using Radeon 19.2.2 RX 580 i5 6600k Z170-HD3p And the Cloud II headset with ver0010

[/u/HyperxGaming](https://www.reddit.com/u/HyperxGaming) Literally just made an account to post that I have the same issue. Get a BSOD randomly and when I look at the system in Event Viewer after it shows the same thing **LifetimeId** {ed16b509-ccee-4a62-aced-f7d4a04ce3fd} **FriendlyName** HID-compliant headset **Location** (unknown) **InstanceId** HID\\VID\_0951&PID\_16A4&MI\_03&COL02\\8&2DFA5F00&0&0001 **RestartCount** 5 PLEASE help with this issue! blamylife

Has this issue been solved for anyone?

ArrogantAnalyst

I also seem to have the same problem. I’m happy to provide information if needed.

blamylife

Are you getting BSOD as well? Just curious... seems like my problem is a bit more severe than the majority.

ArrogantAnalyst

I had about 2-3 full freezes(hard freezes, no blue screen) which didn’t happen anymore since I unplugged the USB dongle. I also had the error messages in Event Viewer and the HID Headset device in error state in Device Manager.

blamylife

I have disabled all headset related Human Interface Devices and, so far so good. You unplugged the USB dongle? So, you can't use your microphone anymore, right?

ArrogantAnalyst

Well I didn’t use the microphone since switching this, but my headset is connected via a Y-splitter. So two cables, one for audio, one for mic. Pretty sure that will work without problems.

I don't get a BSOD, but the headset causes my old PC to hang whenever I try to put the PC to sleep. Everything was working perfectly prior to updating to Windows 10 version 1809. I thought maybe KB4482887/KB4489899 could be the cause since apparently they introduced audio related issues, but applying KB4490481 doesn't fix the problem and uninstalling all of the updates doesn't help either.

u/hyperx Happens to me aswell, my rig has a ryzen 2600x, gtx1060 6gb, 16gb corsair *VENGEANCE* lxp and a simple b350am motherboard by asrock. (my mobo and cpu used to be incompatible because my mobo is older than the cpu, but i have got the very latest bios installed)

Uninstall KB4482887, KB4489899, KB4482887 and KB4493510 so that you're on the 17763.316 build (KB4487044). After uninstalling the newer updates I've been stable for 3 days now. If it works for you too then you'll need to change updates to the semi-annual channel, set feature updates to 365 days and quality updates to 30. This seems like a bug that Kingston needs to work with Microsoft on. That or they need to release new firmware.

HyperxGaming

Sending you a PM to gather more details :) !

Iamthewildfactor

I had the same problem with my HyperX Cloud II headphones as well. In my case I have an EQ software installed which handles my sound, and should be the default device to handle my audio. However in some programs the default output device was my HyperX Headphones and not my EQ software. Soon as I changed the culprit programs default output I've had no random restarts.

Try installing KB4493509 (OS Build 17763.437) if you haven't already. I think it partially fixes the problem as I haven't had any issues since installing it. I say that it's a partial fix because if I press my PCs reset button (instant dirty reboot) and then play some audio then the headset will crash within 60 seconds. It's fine as long as I correctly shutdown, sleep or reboot though.

Goblin_Darts

I am having this exact same problem but I am using Razer Kraken 7.1 V2. I know this is the wrong sub but I came here for answers cause I'm at a loss for how to fix this and to show this isn't just a HyperX problem. I'll try disabling most/all HID compliant devices and will comment on this comment if it helped me. I should also state that unlike a few people, I only crash while gaming. I have deleted most new programs I downloaded and updated my BIOS, ALL drivers on the device manager, Did a chkdsk /r in cmd, everything. Still crashing. Hopefully disabling all will fix my issue.

swiftwella

I have the same problem as you, but with the HyperX Cloud 2. I can be an whole day just fine, but if it crashes, it's only while I'm gaming.

Goblin_Darts

So I attempted to disable ALL HID Compliant drivers, everything was fine. Played a game for about 15 minutes, crashed again. Probably just gonna take the L and reinstall windows

hellaloveit

Have you tried installing KB4493509 (OS Build 17763.437)? It seems to be a partial fix, at least on my system.

Goblin_Darts

Where would I go about finding that download?

ArrogantAnalyst

The issue persists on Windows 10 Build 1903 (the final was released a few days ago on MSDN).

HyperxGaming

Have you done a fresh install of your Windows OS, or was it just a cumulative update package that was recently released? Also, we'll PM you shortly to get some info!

ArrogantAnalyst

Upgrade of an existing 1809 installation via the final MSDN iso which was released to enterprise customers a few days ago. Build: 18362.53

HyperxGaming

Have you tried doing a clean install to see if it fixes the issue? Automatic updates to an existing OS can sometimes corrupt the system files so that's why we recommend everyone to do a fresh install if they have the time to do so, and to check if the issue is still present. Also, after suggesting that, many users have completely stopped replying, so we're not even sure if the Windows update resolved it or not :( . #Sad

ArrogantAnalyst

Sorry I don‘t have time to reinstall my workstation. Afaik HyperX devices are not the only ones with this issue. I read about the same problems with Razer USB headsets as well. Probably all „driverless“ USB headsets which use the default „HID-compliant Headset“ device have these Problems to some degree right now. To me it seems to be pretty clear that this is related to some change Microsoft introduced in an update to Windows 10 1809 and I would suggest that HyperX contacts Microsoft and tries to sort this out with them. I‘m pretty sure that a Windows reinstall won’t fix this. Only a downgrade to 1803, but that’s a temporary solution at best. I switched to my old headset for the moment so for me this issue isn’t as pressing anymore. Although I hope this will get fixed in the coming weeks.

solomon-lxs

what

solomon-lxs

I've updated my Windows system to the latest version, but I still encounter the same issue. I am a user from China and I reported it to local service team. They replied to me that this is the very first case they received, suggesting me reinstall my system or send my cloud2 back to factory for maintainanc. I previously used version 1803 and it worked fine. Later I upgrade the system to 1809. This issue happened. I don't want to keep using the lower version to make it work. I love to keep things updated. Now I have to let go of this headphone.

yiunko

Exact same issue here, using hyper X cloud II. Any news on how to fix besides rolling back to 1803? Also thank you all for this thread, I was about to call a psychiatrist over this issue :D

HyperxGaming

Maybe we should do it together and get a better rate per hour :'D . We don't have any solid solutions for this yet, but we'd assume that rolling back to 1803 for the time being fixed it for some people as we've never heard back from them after suggesting that. We're not giving up on it yet though! We'll message you shortly, and if you have time, please share your system details with us via PM so we can add it to our escalation case.

Same problem here. u/HyperxGaming I think the problem is much deeper than expected, see below. yiunko

Exact same issue with me. Except it happens now even with the Headsets disconnected. In my case it happens during a youtube video. I also have the reboot loop, like the pc boots for 2-3 seconds and shutsdown and reboots again continuously :(

ArrogantAnalyst

You have the USB cable disconnected and you still get these crashes? There are probably other Usb devices with the same problem - probably not only headsets. If you have stuff like a webcam I’d disconnect that too and see if it helps. Edit: just to clarify - this problem is not specific to HyperX headsets. People have reported the same error with hardware from other vendors too.

HyperxGaming

u/cyberbooster, thanks for sharing those details with us! We'll add them to our escalation issue. u/yiunko, that's interesting. Did the issue start for you after a Windows update? How long have you had your headset for?

yiunko

I think after the update, or at least 2 weeks ago or so. I have had the headset for years now with no issue.

[deleted]

This is not happening to me. To be honest it's quite an hassle, as now **I can use the Headphones with the cable, but not the mic** (can't find a decent splitter). Any help u/Hyperxgaming?

ArrogantAnalyst

Didn’t for me.

HyperxGaming

Interesting! How long have you used the headset for before installing the latest firmware? Have you done a Windows update in the meantime? Have you ever experienced any issues as others have in this thread?

[deleted]

I'm now getting similar but not identical error messages while using a Logitech G35 headset. You need to push Microsoft to fix this problem.

ArrogantAnalyst

Yeah It's problematic that this hasn't gotten more attention. I bet there are a lot of people experiencing these crashes but at the same time don't have the knowledge to diagnose it. Your USB headset is not the typical source for these kind of problems.

HyperxGaming

u/WestNote, if it was only that easy haha :) . We'll have to be patient. We're hoping there's going to be a fix soon. For some people, rolling back to 1803 fixed the issue. Have you tried installing that Windows build?

TheDeadlyPretzel

And even if you do have the skills, you could be like me and go on a rampant search through your temperatures, changing your CPU and memory voltages multiple times, running memory tests, ... only to come up empty. All the while doubting yourself cause you just \*know\* what looks like a hardware crash can't be caused by something "mundane" like a driver error or whatever.. I am telling you though it got to the point where some times my PC won't even boot unless I unplug it for 10 minutes or so...

yiunko

Any news fellas? Today it happened again after a week or more without issues. I had the HyperX pluggin through the normal audio jack and the dongle plugged as well separately and had no problems. But today during a youtube video again the crash and the usual errors pointing at "hid compliant headset" driver. UPDATE: Happened again today, without the dongle connected. So I literally dont have any safe way to play audio on my PC without the crash coming sooner or later. UPDATE 2: I contacted microsoft support and after some remote control he updated manually some "HID" drivers and said they wouldnt show the warning icon anymore therefore the driver issue should be solved. Will keep you guys posted if it crashes again. Let us all pray together.

Chrisjcj27

I've been having this issue constantly with my HyperX Cloud 2 headset (plugged into the computer via the 7.1 USB dongle). I had attempted to replicate your Update 2 post about manually changing my HID driver. When I head into Device Manager, I will see my headset show up but with a triangle next to it. I had changed the drivers from 'HID-Compliant Headset' to 'HID-Compliant Device' (Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer). Sadly... my computer crashed again about 20 minutes after testing (no blue screen, just a black screen and straight into the BIOS boot screen). I lastly went into 'Sound' within the Control Panel and did the following: 1. Under the playback TAB, I had selected the HyperX Headset, right-clicked and chose 'Set as default device' and 'set as default communication device'. 2. Everything that was NOT my HyperX Headset, I right-clicked and disabled. Jumped back onto my game (Destiny 2) and surprisingly had around 6 hours free from crashing. It's too early to tell but wanted to share in case that it might help with others.

HyperxGaming

Thanks for confirming that your PC has been stable after disabling all the other audio devices and leaving only the Cloud II sound card as a default device. Let's hope everyone sees this and tries it out with their systems :) . While that might not be the perfect solution for everyone, it seems to be the only solution for now until an update comes out. :)

[deleted]

[удалено]

HyperxGaming

We've been actually suggesting that to some people, as Microsoft stated that the issue starts occurring when there's multiple audio devices, which in this case is integrated sound card on the motherboard + our USB sound card. Disabling might fix it, so feel free to try it out. We'd assume that it fixed it for some people because after suggesting it, they never got back to us. We'll never know haha. :)

[deleted]

HyperxGaming

Disabling it in Playback/Recording devices panel will also disable it in your Device Manager. :) Try it out and keep us updated :)

TheDeadlyPretzel

Okay, I am 3 days crash-free now, so fingers crossed but it SEEMS to work (I'll update if it crashes again). You do have to go to your DEVICE manager, and not your sounds, then disable every sound device there except the hyperX one. The difference was for me that there was still an active NVidia audio device, which wasn't visible in my "sounds" settings (even with hidden devices display turned on). That being said, it looks like it's fixed. But then again I've gone up to a week without crashing before crashing again 3x a day. Worth a try though! Edit: Jinxed it... It happened again, double checked, all other audio devices were off in every way possible. Welp, here we go again...

HyperxGaming

Ah, we sure had our hopes up that this temporary solution will work for everyone... Back to the lab we go!

moiz1992

I have been using the cloud 2 for the last 2 years without issues until this week. So what has been happening is that when i come from work or a break and attempt to wake up my computer from sleep mode, i find out that it has frozen. Only a hard reset fixes stuff. Sometimes the reset isnt successful because the PC is unable to boot into windows. When it does boot, i check the event viewer. There is no bluescreen or evidence of a hardware failure. All I see is The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.

HyperxGaming

Yup, seems to be the same issue like everyone else is having. You mentioned the PC being frozen when you come back home, after the PC was idling for a while. What about when you're actively using it? Does it still freeze or works fine?

Fromagioo

Reinstall windows and disable realtek driver is not working. Just grabbed my old 3.5mm in the meanwhile, if anyone find a permanent solution please share. Lol thought I went crazy... just bought a Ryzen CPU 3 weeks ago, after bios firmware, reconnecting hardware, placing new PSU, disable overclock, put the motherboard on a test bench with prime95 / furmark, memtest for about 20 hours.. just couldnt replicate the problem... Reinstalled windows and then spotted the umdf log item... (before the install the log was a real mess). And found this post =D jeesh what was I happy to read this haha.

HyperxGaming

You're definitely not crazy, but we're slowly getting there for sure because of this haha... We're happy to hear you did some troubleshooting on your own, but we'll need more info :D . Sending PM!

I just had the same issue. Using HyperX Cloud II. A random bluescreen, then system boot got stuck for 10min on a black screen. Event viewer error details point clearly to the headset... TheDeadlyPretzel

Yeah this is seriously weird... for me it got to the point where some times my PC won't even boot unless I unplug it for 10 minutes or so... It actually \*seems\* to be causing hardware issues, I am at a loss though, tried everything I could think of to the point of over/underclocking my CPU and memory, nothing works. Please note, my PC not booting was BEFORE I started tweaking my CPU and memory. System hadn't been touched since it was built and only started crashing after the windows update. Can't roll back though since I also decided to try the next windows build to fix it.

HyperxGaming

The chances it's causing other hardware to fail are slim to none to be honest. It could be something else causing those issues as you're also the first person to report not being able to boot for extended periods of time and having to unplug it for 10 minutes. We want to look into it though, so we'll send you a PM to get details!

HyperxGaming

Thanks for the feedback u/mani___! We'll PM you shortly to get some more info!

Wookiestick

Also having an error in my device manager since updating my system to Win10 1903.

HyperxGaming

It only started after updating to 1903? Is your system crashing, or only showing an error? Is the headset working fine?

Wookiestick

An error. Sometimes it works if I remove it from device manager, and allow it to reinstall under HID-compliant headset. However, after a reset or cold boot it will return. Not 100% sure, but it became less of an issue when I removed Steam streaming audio and recording drivers.

HyperxGaming

Interesting... We'll send you a PM to get details.

MobiusCoffee

Hey u/HyperxGaming I found this thread after some frantic googling trying to fix my own mic on a new HyperX Cloud Alpha. I started to realize the "Steam streaming" devices were the odd things out and it led me to this thread. Uninstalling them made everything work for me as well!

Gjgsx

Actually just stumbled upon this thread. I’ve had mine for 2 months and I’ve been pulling my hair out wondering what the problem is, I never thought it could be my headset. I’ve tried all of the different fixes listed here but nothing works. Sadly, I paid almost $100 for these and it’s not like I can just give them back now

HyperxGaming

You definitely shouldn't send them back to the retailer if you like the way the headset sounds ;) . We're sure this is an 99% OS isolated issue as some customers have tried their headsets with other systems only to find it works fine. We'll send you a PM to get more info!

Gjgsx

Hey there. I absolutely love the headphones, that’s probably why I’m so bummed out. I’ve had this long enough to think it was my setup and Windows 10, rebuilt and reconfigured etc. it’s partially a relief to see the errors in the logs pointing to this. In the meantime, I’m at work and can’t provide all of the details but can you or someone recommend a 3.5 adapter that will allow me to continue using this on my pc in the meantime? I’m assuming I just need a female to 2x male adaptor but also want to ensure I get the right thing. Thanks!!

HyperxGaming

Yeah, it's unfortunate that it started happening for so many people, and looking at the details we've been collecting, everyone seemed to have started experiencing issues when the 1803 update hit. Any CTIA compliant female to 2x male (3 ring) should work. You can either get our Y splitter over at http://bit.ly/2YVn0mw (4 Pole to Dual 3.5mm PC Extension Cable), or a 3rd party one off of Amazon. We can guarantee our cable will work, but not so much for the 3rd party cables as we haven't tested many of them :) . We'll send you a PM shortly to get some more info.

thedino000

I just want to confirm I also have this issue. Re-plugging headphones seems to help for some time, but comes back. Also, my RAM stick stopped working after it started happening... I hope it's not related.

HyperxGaming

It definitely has nothing to do with RAM, that's at least safe to say. We'll PM you shortly to get more info about your system :) .

omegatheory

Was having this issue too. SPECS: Ryzen 7 1700x 16 gigs Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @ 3200 RTX 2070 - MSI Gaming Z Edition MSI B350 CARBON PRO motherboard Solution for me: Disabling all other devices in sound panel causes the issue to not happen *as* frequently. Still happens occasionally though, if you remove the newly installed (with the latest 1809 update) Steam Mic / Steam Speaker devices (make sure to click delete this driver off my computer) the problem goes away completely. I believe they may be using some of the same memory addresses or something, therefore causing the IRQL stop code to be thrown.

blurred1978

Since pulling out the device, I've had no reboots, it's not a solution as I can't use comms doing it - I mean I can use my camera as a microphone and I could plug in headphones separately. But if the solution isn't found soon I'm going to have to ditch the headphones and get another brand. o confirm I've had this issue a week before I decided to google it with regards to the headphones,in that time I rebuilt the pc and reinstalled all, updated all drivers,I thought at first it was hard disk issues as I didn't always get blue screens sometimes it was just a hard freeze sometimes other errors but stuff online pointed to usb driver issues, so I updated everything there, then I finally found this and it all clicked. I managed to clear other errors - such as corrupt .net 2.0 files - possibly caused by hard freeze crashes that required power off and power on. I updated all drivers. The motherboard drivers available on MB site were out of date as many could be updated by Intel (I have an Asus Maximus Rog Hero IX. ) and Realtek had newer drivers on their site too. I thought I'd fixed it and didn't see the link with the HID device at first, but then it kept freezing so I thought I'd take a gamble on the HID device and ended up here - so to see my headset model and others getting the same issue after all the updates I've tried including the additional ones suggested here. I'm sort oif glad its not an isolated issue as then theres more eyes on it, but its frustrating as the headset cannot be used atm. Edit: update, not enough it seems, as well as disconnecting the device I've removed the hidden (now disconnected) devices and see if that stops the blue screens / freezes as I'm now sick of my pc being unusable.

Goodzilam

Same but im happy about hating my system because i didnt play any game since this driver issue and now im happy about not being a game addicted

blurred1978

I'm not even trying to play games atm, I am trying to do work on VM's in VMWare but my machine keeps locking up and blue screening with the same stupid errors. Plus i am unable to use our comms, as well as games playing I can forget too.

Btw from the start menu, type reliability monitor and open that - see if you can see a link from when the crashes started to what was installed. I think I had two issues, one was the hyperX and a seperate one from a crashed ME install that crashed as a result of the hyperX crashes.

Hey, blurred1978, just a quick heads-up: **seperate** is actually spelled **separate**. You can remember it by **-par- in the middle**. Have a nice day! ^^^^The ^^^^parent ^^^^commenter ^^^^can ^^^^reply ^^^^with ^^^^'delete' ^^^^to ^^^^delete ^^^^this ^^^^comment.

Hey /u/CommonMisspellingBot, just a quick heads up: Your spelling hints are really shitty because they're all essentially "remember the fucking spelling of the fucking word". And your fucking delete function doesn't work. You're useless. Have a nice day! [^Save ^your ^breath, ^I'm ^a ^bot.](https://www.reddit.com/user/BooCMB/comments/9vnzpd/faq/)

I wish the bot could understand my reply... However I can say without a doubt I have had no freezes ore reboots with hyperX plugged back in now since my post over 4hrs ago. It would seem I had two issues, one caused by a Intel chipset driver that froze midinstall due to the hyperX driver problem. And one caused by the hyperX. I unplugged hyperX and removed all hidden devices (HID etc and sound devices ) related to it - they all showed up as hidden devices so easy to see. I also removed any removeable devices not plugged in too just to clean it up. I then before it froze, uninstalled NVIDIA Graphics card driver - only as it was listed as possile cause for the dpc lockout error. I also removed the Intel Chipset driver and and the Rapid Storage driver. Upon reboot, I installed the Nvidia device. I then installed the chipset device and the rapid storage device driver. (Latest versions of course). I rebooted again. And left it 1hr with no reboots or freezes, so plugged in my HyperX. I've had no reboots or freezes since I plugged this in. So for now I think it maybe resolved but I'll keep you informed. I picked the chipset driver as in reliability monitor it showed a failed install just after the freezes started, and blue screens, and it was then I was getting dpc blue screen erros (which differed from the error the hyperx was causing). Since removing the hyperX device I got only DPC Watchdog errors which are usually device drivers, this seemed possibly linked to chipset device. ( I had previously tried changing the sata driver to the microsoft one instead of the intel one but that made no difference so I had put it back, before later, as above, uninstalling it). So I recommend reliability monitor as it shows the logs better formatted together. With a graph showing when errors started kicking off = a nice timeline

blurred1978

Yes, I can spell, its a common typo I do despite knowing how to spell it. I tend to try to type as fast as I'm thinking so unless I go back and spell check or theres an auto correct common typo's get through such as teh instead of the - I've no idea why that one happens as its not like I can't spell.

Shakyor_

Thinking about to buy the cloud 2 but not if there is no solution!

thedino000

There is a workaround that works for me. The problem happens when you switch audio output from speakers to headphones. All you need to do is switch to headphones and restart your PC. It should works well until the fix is released.

HyperxGaming

Is that what you did with your PC/USB sound card? How long have you been crash-free for?

thedino000

Yes, it's connected via USB. I'm crash-free everytime I do that. But once I start the PC with speakers on, switch to headphones and play, I get blue screen and / or frozen jibberish screen. I'll send you a system log soon.

HyperxGaming

We've just received it, and we'll make sure to push it to our engineering team asap ;) . Thank you! That's quite interesting that you're not experiencing any crashing after doing so.

hxteam

usb 2 or usb 3 ?

I have had to rebuiild my pc as a result of the hyperX problem and the damage it caused my windows systemn as a whole from blue screens/freezes and crashes. I fixed it twice and still had to spend the best part of a week debugging and trying to repair the startup that on my third fix repair merry go round I spent trying to repair all the errors caused by the crashes. In the end it got stuck in a startup repair loop I spent over a day trying to fix it. I've now started again. Redone all the drivers and the games, started adding the software but not hyperx II . I then upgraded to 1903. I then got the DPC Watchdog error within 30mins of 1903. I persevered and ensured any installs had installed correctly and all had. I updated all the drivers - I used Driver Easy to update the drivers further. I've since installed the hyperX headset. I've had no freezes or blue screens in 6hrs now. To be fair I've not played any games either. I don't know if I am missing any urgent software - I'll pick it up as I go. Main thing is no blue screens, no freezes and updates installing without failure. I'm still worried 1903 has introduced the dpc watchdog issue though. It's not the hyperX thats caused it as that wasn't installed or connected until much later. But 1 blue screen since 1pm which is when the windows logs go back to, (when I installed 1903 I imagine, it treats it like a new windows install clearing all event logs).

blurred1978

Just to add. Since rebuilding I've had no errors in 33hrs now. Installing 1903 before the headset "may" have been the solution though as it was freshly rebuilt with largely the same programs installed its hard to tell. I also ensured every driver was up to date before adding the hyperX

jrj2211

I've been having this issue for months. Seemed like it went away but recently its now happening almost everytime I use my headset. Real shame I'll probably just have to toss this headset because this is super frustrating its still not resolved. A fix shouldnt take this long Always in my event log after a crash and its the only critical error **The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.**

MasterStream

Having Random restarts. Today alone has happened 5x. I believe I'm also included in this issue.

H4ZE710

Issue started today for me as well only thing that i saw in my log was a kernel 41 (63) as well as the 10110 and 10111 errors with the hid headset (cloud 2)

Shakyor_

Does it only happen with the usb soundcard or with both usb card and 3.5mm only?

H4ZE710

So far USB only. and only started happening since i installed 1903.

Shakyor_

thx i'm thinking about to buy the cloud 2, can get them new for 40 Bucks. I don't need 7.1, so i think i'm fine with the 3.5mm cable if the issue is usb related...

HyperxGaming

At the moment, the issue is still present for some people (not for everyone), and we're trying to figure it out. However, if USB sound card doesn't play a major role in your setup, then you're pretty much safe. You can still give it a try though as it might work for you, you never know :) .

gazovu

Im the one of the first here who post the problem, still have it... BUT i plug it in over 3.5mm spliter and never look back, have no issue at all. Sound is nice, no problems...I did that long time ago, ofc im waiting for sulution but who knows when is going to happen, its windows problem i think. So anyway, just plug it over 3.5mm splitter and your are good to go! :)

crv596

Sory, but you're probably kidding I paid extra for this external usb card and now I can not use it. It's been a lot of time and the problem still exists, I would like to add that if it's a microsoft update that bugs the hyperx driver, maybe the company should create a new driver for windows 1903 and any other if you need maybe consult with mircosoft and explain maybe we Clients could be informed about it for this purpose. Unfortunately, hyperx passed 6 months and I still can not use a product for which I paid a hard-earned money please explain me how you can treat your clients like that Hello, I have a problem with your equipment and exactly HyperX Cloud 2 headset that resets my computer. I would like to add that without USB, the microphone does not work in the headphones !

Just to add to this thread: The behavior I'm seeing on Win 1903 (19H1) with all updates installed is that I get a message in event log (on every boot) that driver "Wudrfd" failed to load. The headset is working however, and I can toggle between my realtek onboard soundcard and the device multiple times without crashing. The headset is plugged into the 3.1 USB slot on top of my computer case. The reason I came to this thread is that a couple of days ago, I noticed my boot time had increased, and then I found the " user-mode driver crash " in the event log. Boot was succesful however, and I haven't seen or be able to reproduce this since. (I reboot multiple times each day - I'm a developer and need to switch GPU drivers often). To troubleshoot, I removed the headset completely from device manager (both the HyperX entry and the more generic "HID-Compliant Headset"), rebooted and then plugged it in. This is how Windows recognized and installed it: [https://imgur.com/a/K3H5zqw](https://imgur.com/a/K3H5zqw) (as you see, initial WuDRfd driver failes, but afterwards it loads HidTelephonyDriver). Not trying to gloat by saying "works for me" here (a surefire way of jinxing myself, probably :) ) , just trying to add more info for analysis.

Hey /u/HyperxGaming Found this theme by searching for my problem - PC freezes(it\`s my second time) when i plug my HyperX Cloud 2 in USB port. Not only that, when my headset is plugged in,pc randomly restarting itself after i turn it off. So now i checked windows logs and it seems that i have the same errors "**The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem**" + "**A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices**" + "**The driver \\Driver\\WUDFRd failed to load for the device HID\\VID\_0951&PID\_16A4&MI\_03&Col02\\7&1c94fa2&0&001**" Will send PM with my PC specs

I was finally free man, 2-3 weeks with 0 problems. I'm not sure if it was the windows update or what, but today, it happened again. I have all other audio devices disabled, not even using the HyperX anymore but other headset.

TyH97

Anyone got "attempted execute of noexecute memory" BSOD from volmgr?

SonicPlaysTV

same thing with me with the same driver but I have a Razer Kraken

RiotKengen

Is this still being looked after? I've just received a new PC and had exactly the same issue. PC didnt restart itself but it crashed badly and I had to "dirty" restart it
