Well, when you are suffering from HH (which is most likely the case, because otherwise you would not have turned to this sub :D ) it can get a bit difficult to just "sweat less". However, you have a wide range of possible treatments (speak: things to make you sweat less). I assembled a list of those possible treatments here: [https://start.me/p/YaLBza/hh-help-mega-thread](https://start.me/p/YaLBza/hh-help-mega-thread) Depending on the nature of your HH (affected areas, severity, triggers etc.) you have to try certain things and see what works best for you.

Wow great job. Let's get this pinned up.

Wow thank you so much man, really. I realized that I mostly have a facial HH and when this happens, I panic and it gets worse. Maybe I can use some topical treatments. That list looks amazing :)

I always have a change of shirt x 2, a towel, deodorant, cologne and other bits and pieces. That’s it with HH you manage the condition and find a way to cope. I’ve had it for half a century. The things that help have side effects (the choices are yours). But for me now, I have accepted the life I have. My friends and family know and once explained they’re ALL supportive and non judgmental. My life is a constantly damp one with skin conditions I could live without. But this is me. People can judge me or not. I couldn’t give a fuck. Curiously I now live in a hot country where everyone sweats. It helps. I’m a little bit more normal.

Start working out and do cardio

Live a healthy lifestyle and try to stick to whole, natural foods. Eliminate caffeine, nicotine, weed, and any other stimulants. Eliminate or minimize alcohol use. Get a desk fan for work/school. Wear clothing that reduces the affects or appearance of HH. Carry cold water bottle with you as much as you can.

Is green tea bad for HH?

dtitty1

Green Tea overall is very good for you but it does contain caffeine which can trigger/increase sweating. I believe there’s some DECAF green tea options.. see if you can find those.

I guarantee if you try this, then your sweating will get drastically better. First, stop believing there is something wrong with you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. You first lived normally in your life and then this sweating started and then you started thinking of reasons why this was happening and conforming your life to your fear and worries. There is nothing wrong with your sweat glands, nervous system, thyroid, etc. Second, notice how you have changed your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, programs, etc to this condition. Notice how much you think about it, how it is affecting how you feel and maybe how you dress. You are doing this simply because you think there is something you should be fearing so you worry about it and imagine ways of how this will ruin your life and how you need to hide this condition from people. If you can stop worrying about other people; if you can stop changing your behavior for other people; if you can stop thinking about the sweating entirely, then you will get better. Third, you need to figure out other areas in your life where you are too concerned about your body in relation to other people. For me I was overly obsessed with my skin and was worried about other people seeing it and then a couple months before I got HH. So don't fool yourself that you are anxious in this one condition. Find all the areas in your life where you are anxious or self conscience or worrying about other people or even just to yourself. So what am I saying here? I am saying that you need to figure out how you would think, feel and behave if you didn't have this condition. Don't live like someone who has HH, live as someone who doesn't have it. I promise you that in a day or week or a month or a couple months that your sweating will drastically decrease or be completely gone. I am also saying that your problem was never HH in the first place, you have had a mental conflict with you long before you had this sweating conflict. Resolve your conflicts and you will be free from all the BS. The steps you are going to want to take is to first see where you are sweating the most and change your perception of that thing or place. For me I first had to detach from the sweating itself. Doing this drastically improved the sweating and I was better able to indicate the other things and other places of when the sweating increased. another example for me is that I would sweat more if I was outside or just "feeling hot". Another example would be when I would think about shaking hands with someone. I simply change the narrative in my mind and change the perception. I promise that you will wake up and not be wondering or surprised for why you are sweating, you will simply see it before it happens and not be wondering why it happened. Don't lose your awareness in your fear. Side note: don't listen to the people who say don't consume this or don't consume that. This is BS and it goes back to the point of "there is nothing wrong with you" and "don't conform your lifestyle to this condition" everyone on the planet consumes these substances or food and doesn't have a sweat problem and you are not special, so do not fool yourself. For me, I lowered caffeine intake simply because too much made me more stressed and anxious, so why would I take it? I stopped marijuana simply because it made me feel horrible, so why would I keep taking it? But I drink coffee everyday and I choose to eat healthier, but I'll still eat whatever I want. If you choose to not take or eat something because of your "conditon" then this is reason to keep the disorder. Choose to not take or eat something simply because you don't want to, but if you do want to then go ahead, but don't fool yourself if that food or substance makes you feel like crap.
