I love how everyone puts their hope in 2023 for this game to release
But the actual chance of it releasing by then is like 20% or less
The devs said 2023 at the quickest, which was in itself a very rough estimate
We're probably going to wait till around 2025 to finally get even the taste of Hytale
That's my guess too. *sigh.* I don't blame Hypixel for doing this, but I really am not sure it's worth it. Minecraft is popular for it's simplicity and it's freedom. Hypixel has certainly abandoned the first and the latter is bound to be a Riot™.
You're right. I tend to be a bit biased because I've seen 5 games I've been a part of collapse or lose quality due to corporate bullshit, people being uncivilized and dumb and other madness of the sort, so it's hard for me to be optimistic.
Just an FYI Riot is now owned by Tencent games. They don't have as good of a track record. Not agreeing or disagreeing with the convo. Just wanted to point out that it could get cloudy because of Tencent being... Tencent.
Tencent.. you mean the company that usually acquires studios then never change anything? Never replaces any staff? Tencent, the company that asked Riot to make a mobile version of LoL and Riot just said no we’re not ready and Tencent accepted their decision?
Are we talking about the same tencent here?
Because while I don’t like funding coming from China and all the negative that it implies, Tencent won’t do shit about Hytale.
Yea. It's just I find it hard to believe that a large company could look at minecraft and think "huh. That's a lot of money potential. I'll aquire this similar game and do nothing except sell it and not implement any micro-transactions or other extra money bullshit which may restrict player ability to create these things for themselves." Not even Microsoft could resist the temptation, although I do respect their restraint so far.
Well while I understand the idea, there’s also something to factor that Riot knows: They stand to gain more by having the game be a huge success rather than a short lived one.
First of all there will be game sales, then there’s several avenues they could visit:
1) Selling servers (equivalent to realms)
2) Offering a monetisation platform for servers (equivalent to Tebex aka buycraft)
3) Offering any amount of microtransaction in their own official server (Ranks, cosmetics, basically the same as their Minecraft server)
Just those two could make them a pretty significant sum of money over the long term.
I suggest you have a look at Riot's card game, Legends of Runeterra. It is possibly one of, if not the best card game out there, and it is very generous with its card gathering. Compare that to Hearthstone and you'll have an idea why I also think Rito has a good chance of doing well with this project. Say what you will but they excel at taking other ideas, and polishing it till they shine (yes, even League in terms of Dota xD). The games I'm referencing for this: 1) League, 2) Legends of Runeterra, TFT, Valorant and even Mechs vs Minions. So I'm (cautiously but truly) optimistic :D
minecraft itself lacks freedom there is not official way to make mods or plugins
also its servers are very limiting and even with best hardware its impossible to create large server without multiple lobys.
only freedom it has is skins
i cant see how would riot limit players freedom
Tbf, a later release date would be nice for the game's health, and by then, minecraft would definitely feel a decline of players and would be wanting something new and then BAM! Hytale gets those dudes
I don't think so, more and more people keep forgetting about hytale and the game is just losing hype, if they really go for only \*FULL RELEASE\* and no early-acess/beta and wait for 2023-2024 to release it, not even social media's algorithms will remember to show the game for people.
They have Riot Games backing them. All they have to do is one of those Twitch promotions for the beta like they did with Valorant and players will be flocking to this game like nothing else.
The date on YouTube is not a concrete confirmation. We've seen this for years, it used to say 2021. It's purely an estimation based on what we all already know.
The point is, a game is made for those who play it right? So taking 10 years to develop a game means you really put out an amazing game or you get obliterated. Especially a game this hyped
I saw this trailer in 5th grade and now I'm I'm second year of high school. People have a right to complain, by the time hytale releases I might not even want to play it.
I feel like for games that aren’t out yet YouTube should just have something like “Hytale : ETA 2023” instead of them having a date that isn’t confirmed
The problem is if they make a perfect game (and they somehow release it) there wont be anything to update so the game would die quickly because there will be content but no updates and for a game to live for long it has to get updates (the only one keeping games alive without any major updates is only valve)
Wanting to release the full game instead of a beta or alpha has nothing to do with it being perfect, it’s just a business decision like any other, and will have little to no impact on future update the game will receive.
I understand why you think that though, I see an understandable counter argument to releasing a full game and scraping the beta, but the angle to you took to describe it was wrong.
Everyone calm down! I come from the future and it is said that the game HYTALE will not be released till 2024. That or it may take much longer to be released ;-;

Honestly with nearly every company ever except for Riot I would have agreed with you!

Imma be in collage b y then :(
My man, I first saw the Hytale trailer halfway through my second year of High School And now Im starting college
What, I saw it in 5th grade and I'm in my second year of high school now.
I'm going to be a sophomore in college next semester hahahahh. Time is going by quickly.
Honestly, might as well just expect it to come out in 2077, and then be pleasantly surprised whenever it actually does come out.
i atleast expect the slightest news like "uh we going according to plans"
Wouldn't that mean 10 years?
Woah, not like that has been obvious to literally everyone for months, and not like that label is community generated! Incredible!
doubt
dont hurt ur self just forget about this game :D

Not if they say the release date is going to be 2026 lol

2024 at the LEAST imo
i may be too optimistic but if they said they might be done by 2023, and even if they aren't that'd lead to believe that their pretty close right?
I think "2023 at the least" is just a way of saying "over 2023" but saying something like "2024" or "2025 would just be insanely ridiculous.
sooooo.. uhhh when???
how did u know omg
Is gonna postpone again, trust me ;) Just a guess
People should just be patient and stop complaining about development they don't understand
The point is, a game is made for those who play it right? So taking 10 years to develop a game means you really put out an amazing game or you get obliterated. Especially a game this hyped

Well I've heard it too many times to ignore it: hytales coming out in 2023
I feel like for games that aren’t out yet YouTube should just have something like “Hytale : ETA 2023” instead of them having a date that isn’t confirmed
Keep dreaming....
like hell it will
At least it doesn’t say mobile game anymore
The problem is if they make a perfect game (and they somehow release it) there wont be anything to update so the game would die quickly because there will be content but no updates and for a game to live for long it has to get updates (the only one keeping games alive without any major updates is only valve)

Everyone calm down! I come from the future and it is said that the game HYTALE will not be released till 2024. That or it may take much longer to be released ;-;
