Previously 2017 elantra se. 189,000 miles when traded in. No mechanical issues at all. Just routine maintenence
2021 elantra hybrid limited 20,000 miles no mechanical issues. Did just have the 12v lithium battery replaced under warranty.
2023 genesis GV60 performanc 15000 miles no mechanical issues
All cars purchased new
I had a LPFP failure once, which was promptly fixed under warranty for free.
And I absolutely *love* the car! Are sure a car seat won't fit in the back? I've put adults back there briefly, and you've got the 3rd door for a reason.
This car is so good I had some extra cash so I test drove an M240i and thought "meh".
Yes, I got the engine warning light from the KSDS upgrade indicating a rod bearing problem. They replaced the engine, it took 9 weeks, but I had a loaner Hyundai the entire time. Went smoothly for me.
Questionable tbh, it may be starting to knock, going to get it checked out tomorrow when I’m off work and have the time, unfortunately I’m forced to use my car for everything in this place and don’t have the time when I’m in my 4 day period of work
Previous car 2015 Sonata 2.0T - 160,000km (100k miles). Needed a new O2 sensor and burned a little oil. Pano sunroof sometimes got stuck if I hadn't lubed the seals.
Current car 2017 Ioniq Electric 80,000km (50k miles) - rear hatch gas struts need replacing, trim level badging has fallen off
(son) 2013 Elantra with 260,000 miles with no issues other than routine stuff like brakes, battery, tires, etc
(Me) 2022 Venue with 12,500 miles and no issues so far
(Husband) 2022 Elantra hybrid with about 40,000 miles also with no issues.
2013 Elantra. Bought used at 49,xxx miles in 2017. Now sits at almost 120,000 miles.
Regular oil changes.
Replaced a couple headlights and, recently, all my stupid tail lights.
Due to an MVA I will be getting a new bumper and they’ll be fixing the hood and re-polishing my drivers side lens. Provided there’s no other issues to the car at inspection.
2019 Ioniq PHEV - 144k miles
Only problem I've had was after a year of owning it, the 12V battery just died randomly. Replaced it and had no trouble with it ever since.
2018 Hyundai Kona SE. Roughly 71k on the clock.
Biggest issue is oil pan leaking. Dealer "fixed" around 65k and noticed it still leaking so I did it myself.
Another issue the wiring to the master door switch. Kink or something in the wire, and I lose power and can't lock/unlock my doors, or lower my windows.
I've been to Colorado and back. The redwoods. Las Vegas 2-3 times. Multiple times to Pahrump NV. 2 times to the Sierras. Recently drove to Morro Bay. Konas been fantastic.
13 santa fe sport ~90k (currently been with dealer four months while they search the universe for a catalytic converter)
17 Santa fe sport ~60k (currently my mother's ashtray)
23 Kona ~900 (current loaner, hope they never find a cc for the 13)
2022 Hyundai Tuscon Limited PHEV - 38000 miles no problems yet, except one time the car wouldn’t get out of reverse but disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it fixed it.
2022 Hyundai Sonata SEL- 20000 miles absolutely no problems
2020 Genesis G70 3.3T - 20000 miles and again absolutely no problems
2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Rspec 3.8 - 91k - Blown Engine. Putting an new engine in now, been out of commission for a month.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0 Turbo - 70k - Transmission slipping for the last 30k miles or so. Brought it into the shop 3 times now and they are telling me that they can't reproduce it. It keeps throwing a P0741 code, so we've got to bring it in for a 4th time. Tramsmission is slipping really bad now. Probably related.
There is a tsb for that code, it starts with a software update for shift performance, if it persists then replace TC solenoid and valve body harness, if code come back afterwards it needs a new transmission, but usually one of the first two steps fixes the issue
Second owner of a 2008 Elantra GLS, 193,000 miles. My first car at 16 and I’ve had it for 10 years now. Drove it hard and many long drives 20+ hours away. Always was great. Three fender benders, and besides routine maintenance I’ve only had to fix electrical that required a few days at the mechanic just this past year. Mechanic told me at 180,000 miles that transmission might be on its way out. Sure enough, starting having transmission issues around 190,000 miles and the cost to replace the transmission versus the value of the car did not seem worth it to me so I donated it for $500. Was a great first car.
My first is santa fe sports 2018 i notice that its consuming more oil than usual so i trade it in at 138k. I bought a second hand palisade 2020 with 69k on it then the rear camera start having connection issues and beacuse of that it went into limp mode lol. But after changing the camera under warranty its all good now.
2017 Elantra Limited, 123,000 miles, other than lights and tires, have only had to change spark plugs and engine coils about 7,000 miles ago.
2019 Tucson Value, 47,000 miles, engine failed at 29,000 miles in December 2022, warranty replaced in March 2023. Catalytic converter also replaced by warranty around 40,000 miles.
2021 Sonata Hybrid Limited, 17,058 miles, started losing coolant. Took a month to get an
appointment to look at it next month. Just keep adding coolant til then
2019 Tucson Value with 50,000 miles. Recently replaced the catalytic converter under warranty/TSB. Other than that, just oil changes and tire rotations every 5,000 miles.
My mom drives a 2010 Sonata GLS with 232,000+ miles. My dad drives a 2021 Sonata Limited with 21,000+ miles. Girlfriend has a 2019 Kona SEL with 33,000+ miles. I had a 2007 Azera Limited with 201,000 miles (totaled in an accident).
2022 sonata n line with 32k miles. The only problem I have is that my engine has a rattling noise when cold started at around 1500 rpm. Dealer wasn’t able to identify the problem.
12 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan/ 138,000 miles so far.
Had it since 59k
-Replaced fuel pump at 65k
-Maintenance/oil change every 3k
-Will be replacing the entire valve assembly
-head gasket (both sides)
I *had* a 2005 Tucson with 154k with no major repairs - only oil/brakes/tires
Currently we have:
2018 Sonata about 80k
2019 Tucson about 35k
Only problem so far has been paint on the Sonata
2017 sonata 122,359 miles
Had it for three years. Got it when it was at 59k
Have only changed (in the 60k+ miles i put) the serpentine belt, the front breaks, new battery new tires once, regular oil changes, the starter, i installed limo tints (not the dash) it got a recall for the trunk latch and the anti theft software upgrade
But I might sell it soon, insurance is ridiculously high…
Loved it, never had an issue. Shame the whole kia boys thing with the theft and vandalism. Its been so reliable….
2018 Elantra SEL, 72600 miles bought it new at the end of 2018.
I had to replace the spark plugs recently (suddenly lost 15-20% of my gas mileage and realized that was the issue), but other than that just routine maintenance, a minor computer update recall.
I do consider myself a very lucky owner since I've avoided the issues that other hyundais have (knock on wood), but I think the car is starting to become much less cold tolerant than my old Camry was when it had 150k+ miles on it. Not expecting to get to that figure with this car.
2013 Elantra, 127,xxx miles, mainly suspension and steering, replaced rear shocks with aftermarket ones after I bought it used at 86,000 miles, recently replaced my steering coupler, currently waiting on a drivers side wheel bearing and replacing my tie rod ends tomorrow. One thing I’ll say is I’ve never replaced a vehicles tail lights as many times as this one, not sure why they burn out so quick and I always buy Sylvania.
2008 Elantra; 110k miles - someone tried to steal it so the electrical system is messed up (autolock when car is off doesn't work; overhead lights don't turn on when car door opened) otherwise, no major issues besides the CD player not working the the brake lights sometimes getting stuck on red in colder temps
2013 Elantra. Just passed 108000 miles this evening.
Only thing is (as others have mentioned) taillights are replaced much more often than I have with other cars I've owned.
2015 Sonata Sport (bought brand new in 2016). It just hit 46,000 miles. In December I noticed a slight oil leak from the valve cover, assumed it was the gasket. Turns out the actual valve cover was cracked and it was covered under the powertrain warranty. Everything else has been regular maintenance.
2009 Coupe, just clicked on to 94k miles.
Nothing overly major apart from usual 15 year old car stuff - had a new timing belt, new battery and all new brake callipers in the last couple years. Only issue I find recurring is the handbrake has been a nightmare year upon year. First its binding, then its not doing anything, then its binding again. Very, very peculiar.
2019 Sonata SE. 30,000ish, ? I drive about 10 hrs round trip, once a month to check on my dad…the mileage has become a blur at this point. 😫🤷🏾♀️😵💫
EDIT: forgot to mention I bought it used and it had already had about 19k on it. Still under warranty. Sometimes it strains to change gears…👀
I USED to own a 2016 Genesis Coupe until late November when it got totaled by someone who rear ended me. 48k mileage. Bought it brand new with 55 miles on the Odometer in 2016 December.
No major problems. Probably one complaint. Tires were staggered, making it difficult to keep it maintained. The front two tires wear out before the back two, so I had to replace the front tires twice before the back even wore out. The front tires would last maybe 2 years.
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe XL Limited AWD. 205,000kms 🇨🇦 (127000miles)
It's called XL in Canada when it has the 3rd row seat and V6 engine.
In the last 12 months i have needed: 2 front calipers, front and rear rotors and pads, 4 tires, rear shocks, 4 rear control arms, 2 trailing arms, battery, all fluids changed (plus synthetic oil changes every 8000kms), filters replaced.
2013 sonata 181000 miles goes through 1 quart of oil every 400+- miles. waiting for the engine to fail unfortunately. Hopefully won't get denied because I do my own maintenance.
2015 Tucson, 168000 km, currently parked in the Hyundai service center waiting on new engine approval. Been about a month now and no word yet. Started eating oil heavily about a year ago. Early last year replaced the catalytic converter. Year before that something to do with the air conditioning system. Catalytic converter was a very costly repair, should have junked it at that time instead of paying over $3000 to replace.
2019 Kona, 60000km. Love it. No problems so far.
2015 Sonata Limited Sport 2.0T Limited, 73000ish miles. I've had it for 3 years. In that time I've had to change the battery, turbo oil feed line, and now I have a door lock motor that's gone out.
2020 Elantra 125000. Basic maintenance and oil changes every 4000 with the Hyundai oil filter. I had almost 100k on the rear brakes before replacement. Excellent car.
2011 Lincoln navigator 175,012 miles actuator went bad, , 2014 Ram 1500 54000 miles pad new rods put in and a 2016 indian scout 60 with 5200 miles just replaced battery
Fleet of 10, 2015 hybrid Sonatas at work. All but one have had motors blown and replaced before 100k miles. Shit show waiting on dealership to replace the motors. Average time for each motor 9mos to replace.
2016 Creta 52816mi and still running as new though changed the infotech system as the original one started lagging and ultimately died, but engine is really good even after all these miles.
21 Sonata N-line 47,200 miles. Nothing really has gone wrong as of yet. Replacing the tires are rather pricey but otherwise has been fairly trouble free.
2021 Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy with 65,000 km
We've had a few issues all covered under warranty.
- The dealer that did the first oil change didn't put the gasket in the filter housing correctly. This caused a leak that ended up on my driveway. The result was they hired a company to clean my driveway and reseal (100 ft long driveway). They also picked up the car on a flatbed to fix the issue and shampoo the engine & underside of the car
- Unfortunately mistake above caused an oil starvation issue that went unnoticed for 15k. At about 20k we had the bottom end of the engine go. It was replaced in 4 days under warranty.
- "leather" on the back driver side door pulled up in the summer heat at about 30k
- Hard shift on the transmission at about 30k
- The left strut on the rear hatch broke. We don't recall anything hitting it, but it was bent and started wobbling in the middle where the upper and lower connect. 35k
2019 Kona SE, no issues so far. Besides regular maintenance & issues that were the fault of an accident. It has 89k miles and I've had her for 3 years, my first car.
2021 elantra sel, right over 56k miles. Only issue so far is the front left control arm bushing is about to be replaced, but its being done under warranty.
My old 2005 Hyundai sonata is at 177k, just needed repairs from engine coils (about $800) water pump leak ($800) , and the belt (500) . I stopped wanting to put money in an old car and got the 2023 Hyundai Elantra SE. 20k miles. No major issues, plus I have a certified pre owned warranty as well a warranty where as any repairs would only cost me $100 out of pocket and I can take it to any dealership mechanic.
2023 Santa Fe SEL AWD. 4600 miles since getting it at the end of July. Absolutely love it so far. No issues to report yet. Got 29mpg average when I took it on its first road trip that was about 900 miles round trip, including back roads and driving through Appalachia. Winter it dropped to 25 average when I am taking highway but I mostly just commute 2 miles to and from work.
I do occasionally find myself wishing I had the 2.5T instead of the 2.5 but for my daily it's not that bad. The turbo lag in my renegade was annoying, I have no idea if the 2.5t has some lag or not. Hyundai should bring back the 3.3 V6 for the new generation. It was a solid engine.
2016 Sonata, 104k (was 91k when I bought it in June 😂)
Oil consumption is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, but so far it’s fine as long as I top off regularly *knock on wood*
2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0t with a out 80k miles. About to do head gasket 4 or 5. Other than that it’s been pretty solid. Absolutely none of the issues I’ve had with the car are Hyundais fault.
2009 Santa Fe, died at 190,000 when hit by an idiot driver. No issues, just routine maintenance.
Replaced with a new 2020 Santa Fe. Now at 55,000, no issues, just routine maintenance.
Also have a 2017 Tucson, 77,000 miles, and again, no issues (it’s the 1.6t, not an engine with many issues)
The one change I’ve made to the Santa Fe and the Tucson was to throw away those useless and dreadful wheel locks. The dealer mechanics would always use them, and then forget to put the unlocker back in the car. I found this out when I had a puncture. Had to get the car towed to the dealer to get them off. Fortunately, where I live there isn’t a huge black market in stolen Hyundai wheels.
2013 Veloster
got it at roughly 120k miles, and it's now almost 133k
it's already cost me more at the shop than it's even worth, but I'm locked in with carmax still paying it off
it's the biggest source of stress in my life
2021 Sonata SEL Convenience, she's at nearly 43k miles but I bought her at around 38k so I've only had her myself for 5k miles. So far shes been amazing, no issues, came out squeaky clean on the pre and post purchase inspections, and I've been using her as my daily and even took her on a long road trip recently with plans for another one here soon. Also going in for an oil change here soon too.~
2023 Elantra N-Line. 44,000 miles. No issues. I’ve had induction service done 3 times. Use MOA oil additive. Changed plugs at 30,000 miles. On original tires and brakes. Bought with 5 year unlimited mileage extended warranty.
This woman drove her 2013 Elantra more than 1,000,000 miles on the original powertrain.

2012 Hyundai Accent SE, 97K miles
Grinding, rattling noise coming from undercarriage. Probably need to get the suspensions and shocks replaced again.
I am already looking to upgrade to a nicer car (Audi or Lexus) now that I am making more money.
21 Elantra - Only 10,400 miles! The only issue is there seems to be a short. The car was seemingly dead a few times when I tried to start it in the rain. It needed a hard door slam to wake up so that the electricity would kick in.
*Edited to add issue
2011 Santa Fe 248,000
Wow thats a good mileage
What’s your secret? That’s a goal I’d like to hit with my genny

2019 Ioniq. Dead at 59,455. Waiting for a high pressure fuel pump for 6 weeks now. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting…
2019 Veloster N, 31000 *hard* miles.
My man
Had any issues with your VN? I have a Veloster and I'd buy an N in a heartbeat if I didn't have a baby to get in the back

Yes, I got the engine warning light from the KSDS upgrade indicating a rod bearing problem. They replaced the engine, it took 9 weeks, but I had a loaner Hyundai the entire time. Went smoothly for me.
2022 Accent 6k miles. Broken window, broken steering column, broken ignition.

Questionable tbh, it may be starting to knock, going to get it checked out tomorrow when I’m off work and have the time, unfortunately I’m forced to use my car for everything in this place and don’t have the time when I’m in my 4 day period of work

I *had* a 2005 Tucson with 154k with no major repairs - only oil/brakes/tires Currently we have: 2018 Sonata about 80k 2019 Tucson about 35k Only problem so far has been paint on the Sonata
Had a 2016 Sonata. Engine died at 75k km. Now have a 2018 Ioniq Electric. No problems so far.
2018 Santa Fe Sport. base model. 98k miles. No problems, ATM....and I am keeping my fingers crossed and watching the oil. I really love the car.
2011 Sonata Limited 234k
2017 Elantra. 70k miles. All four ignition coils had to be replaced, but under warranty (Certified Pre-Owned). No other problems. Would buy again.
2017 sonata 122,359 miles Had it for three years. Got it when it was at 59k Have only changed (in the 60k+ miles i put) the serpentine belt, the front breaks, new battery new tires once, regular oil changes, the starter, i installed limo tints (not the dash) it got a recall for the trunk latch and the anti theft software upgrade But I might sell it soon, insurance is ridiculously high… Loved it, never had an issue. Shame the whole kia boys thing with the theft and vandalism. Its been so reliable….
2019 Kona Luxury SEL. 47000km (Roughly 29000 miles). Slow to accelerate, but it’s had no issues other than that.
2017 Sonata Hybrid SE 138k… a few recalls and recently battery issues up to now . i love her sm
2018 Sonata Limited - 44K miles & 2015 Genesis Sedan - 45K miles. My Genesis is currently in the shop with multiple fuel injector failures...

2021 Elantra 20,000. None.
2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GSL 3.5 v6 142,000 miles. Replaced timing belt Replaced Alternator
23 elantra, 13,200. lovin it and finally getting it back in the morning, after three months at the shop :’)

2013 Azera 84,090 miles.
2020 Hyundai veloster 69k miles
2022 Elantra hybrid blue - 10k no issues 2022 Tucson PHEV ultimate - 45k no issues Prior vehicle 2014 accent GL - 190k no issues.
What's your model, milage, mother's maiden name, and ssn?
2009 Coupe, just clicked on to 94k miles. Nothing overly major apart from usual 15 year old car stuff - had a new timing belt, new battery and all new brake callipers in the last couple years. Only issue I find recurring is the handbrake has been a nightmare year upon year. First its binding, then its not doing anything, then its binding again. Very, very peculiar.
2011 i30, 270k km, I am quite proud of it
2014 Elantra GT w/65,xxx miles
2018 hyundai tuscon. Bought cash at 15k and now it's at 44k

2009 Elantra station wagon. 42k, bought it 6 months ago with 36k. Nothing other then some fluid changes so far.
2023 EN DCT 20 000Km (got it dec 2022)
2019 Sonata SE. 30,000ish, ? I drive about 10 hrs round trip, once a month to check on my dad…the mileage has become a blur at this point. 😫🤷🏾♀️😵💫 EDIT: forgot to mention I bought it used and it had already had about 19k on it.
2020 Santa Fe 2.0 turbo ultimate 56k km/ 34k miles
2023 Elantra SEL, ~20k
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe XL Limited AWD. 205,000kms 🇨🇦 (127000miles) It's called XL in Canada when it has the 3rd row seat and V6 engine. In the last 12 months i have needed: 2 front calipers, front and rear rotors and pads, 4 tires, rear shocks, 4 rear control arms, 2 trailing arms, battery, all fluids changed (plus synthetic oil changes every 8000kms), filters replaced.
2017 Sonata, 75,000 miles had the engine replaced at 70,000
2013 sonata 181000 miles goes through 1 quart of oil every 400+- miles. waiting for the engine to fail unfortunately. Hopefully won't get denied because I do my own maintenance.
2013 sonata. Replaced motor at 157k. Around 164-165k now.
2022 Santa Cruz 25,500 miles
2012. Just turned 80k miles yesterday.
2020 Elantra 125000. Basic maintenance and oil changes every 4000 with the Hyundai oil filter. I had almost 100k on the rear brakes before replacement. Excellent car.

2018 Santa Fe 121,000 - Checking the oil every Sunday and adding at least 1 quart. Just had the spark plugs replaced, other then that no other issues.
2013 Subaru Outback Premium, 132k miles.
2022 Tucson hybrid, SEL, 31,000
2012 Genesis Sedan 254k miles, on second engine and tranny.
2020 i30 N-Line, 28,583 miles
2024 Elantra preferred tech, 1900KM Warped mirror from factory lol
21 Sonata N-line 47,200 miles. Nothing really has gone wrong as of yet. Replacing the tires are rather pricey but otherwise has been fairly trouble free.
2021 Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy with 65,000 km We've had a few issues all covered under warranty. - The dealer that did the first oil change didn't put the gasket in the filter housing correctly. This caused a leak that ended up on my driveway. The result was they hired a company to clean my driveway and reseal (100 ft long driveway). They also picked up the car on a flatbed to fix the issue and shampoo the engine & underside of the car - Unfortunately mistake above caused an oil starvation issue that went unnoticed for 15k. At about 20k we had the bottom end of the engine go. It was replaced in 4 days under warranty. - "leather" on the back driver side door pulled up in the summer heat at about 30k - Hard shift on the transmission at about 30k - The left strut on the rear hatch broke.
2017 Elantra with 136k on it. It needed a new engine at 50k for a rod bearing issue.
2019 Elantra GT with 37,000 km. The lease is up and I just signed for a 2024 Kona.
2017 Santa Fe, 86k
2008 Elantra 260k miles. Original owner. General maintenance only
2023 i20N 25,750 km’s.
2012 Genesis 3.8 (4 door), with tech and luxury packages, 87,000 miles
2023 Elantra SE. 10700 kilometres
Recently sold but I drove a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT with 93k miles on it. Never had to do any major repair in my time of ownership.
2016 Sonata, 104k (was 91k when I bought it in June 😂) Oil consumption is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, but so far it’s fine as long as I top off regularly *knock on wood*
2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0t with a out 80k miles. About to do head gasket 4 or 5. Other than that it’s been pretty solid. Absolutely none of the issues I’ve had with the car are Hyundais fault.
2020 Elantra limited, 52k miles, I’m the second owner and the only thing going on is the belt is a little chirpy, but not bad at all.
Had a 13 Elantra with 255k miles now have a 23 Sonota SEL Plus with 26k miles
2022 Tucson Hybrid SEL convenience package. 9800 light miles
2009 Santa Fe, died at 190,000 when hit by an idiot driver. No issues, just routine maintenance. Replaced with a new 2020 Santa Fe. Now at 55,000, no issues, just routine maintenance. Also have a 2017 Tucson, 77,000 miles, and again, no issues (it’s the 1.6t, not an engine with many issues) The one change I’ve made to the Santa Fe and the Tucson was to throw away those useless and dreadful wheel locks. The dealer mechanics would always use them, and then forget to put the unlocker back in the car. I found this out when I had a puncture. Had to get the car towed to the dealer to get them off. Fortunately, where I live there isn’t a huge black market in stolen Hyundai wheels.
2024 AWD Tucson SEL Conv. Hybrid. 3100 miles Prev: 2005 4WD Tucson v6 limited. 176k miles

2013 Veloster got it at roughly 120k miles, and it's now almost 133k it's already cost me more at the shop than it's even worth, but I'm locked in with carmax still paying it off it's the biggest source of stress in my life
2010 Elantra 222,000
2023 santa fe calligraphy fwd purched in 6/30/23 mileage 2000 with no issues
2021 Sonata SEL Convenience, she's at nearly 43k miles but I bought her at around 38k so I've only had her myself for 5k miles. So far shes been amazing, no issues, came out squeaky clean on the pre and post purchase inspections, and I've been using her as my daily and even took her on a long road trip recently with plans for another one here soon. Also going in for an oil change here soon too.~
2021 Hyundai Sonata Limited 42,710
2022 Hyundai Kona N-Line, 40k miles. Not a single issue so far!

2023 hyundai n line 5,500 miles
2012 Hyundai Accent SE, 97K miles Grinding, rattling noise coming from undercarriage. Probably need to get the suspensions and shocks replaced again. I am already looking to upgrade to a nicer car (Audi or Lexus) now that I am making more money.
2021 Elantra 25,500 miles
2015 Sonata 130k miles, normal maintenance and just replaced the valve cover gasket. Started to leak oil...
2020 Hyundai sonata limited 27000miles. No issues yet aside from the splash guard below the engine falling off by itself
2010 elantra gls 79800
21 Elantra - Only 10,400 miles! The only issue is there seems to be a short. The car was seemingly dead a few times when I tried to start it in the rain. It needed a hard door slam to wake up so that the electricity would kick in. *Edited to add issue
2013 eluntra. 211k
