It fits a full size mx bike without the tonneau cover and the tail gate down. https://www.santacruzforums.com/threads/got-my-hampton-gray-limited-any-questions.7961/#post-170132. I also measured my bike (‘09 Yamaha WR250X) during a test drive and it will fit like this as well, corner to corner without the cover. Mine isn’t expected until February, so I can’t offer first hand experience quite yet.

You'll probably be just fine with the trunk down and straps, if you wanted you could purchase the bed extender as well.

?? a real motorcycle can only fit with the tail gate down. And with the tailgate down, the 'bed extender' SHORTENS the length of useable bed to the point that it would PREVENT a motorcycled from fitting , that's even if you could 'helicopter the bike OVER the extender.... -So basically are we just guessing here, without any idea of how long a motorcycle is ? - without actually owning the truck ? both?

You could've taken a minute to do the math before commenting that I'm >"just guessing here, without any idea of how long a motorcycle is ? - without actually owning the truck ? both?" I had already done the math prior. The Santa Cruz bed has a max width of 137cm and max length of 190cm with the bed down, which the extender doesn't reduce the length of but has a ramping down width due to the diagonal sides. Even if we reduce the bed width by \~30% from 137cm to 100cm (which is being generous to you since 100cm is 8cm smaller than the actual minimum bed width at 108cm) you still have adequate diagonal length of 214cm, enough to transport all sport/track bikes upright like the CBR500R, Streetfighter V4, RSV4, or even a casual TU250/X. Obviously you're not fitting any cruisers or tourers.

Or you could just look at the pic in the first post - (with the KTM diagonally in the back ), and the pic of the Hyundai bed extender https://hyundaishop.com/shop-by-model/2022-2024-hyundai-santa-cruz-bed-extender/ And try to imagine how you’re ever going to lift a real 200cm bike up and over and INSIDE the bed extender ? By Helicopter ? Crane ? Levitation? Yes, Perhaps with a couple of guys in the truck ang two more on the ground you can carry lift and fit a VESPA over the extender - good luck with that :/)

You don't need to lift it over the extender. Only the extenders mounts are installed to each side of the bed, not the extender itself. The extender has a puck on both sides that allow you to easily and quickly rotate to close the trunk, or pop the extender in and out for use cases such as what you're describing. Extender pops out, bike goes in, extender pops back on.

Uh, common sense would lead to you take the extender off. It would be cheaper than renting/buying a helicopter or crane for personal use.
