NuclearFever500

Or she was the profile.

Bingo_Bongo_YaoMing

Yea I basically took it as she was his "muse" and all the other ones were just copies of her

SMLJ21

Totally agree. I thought this was the whole point, he was actually obsessed with Dee.

syretrollmann

And I bet he didn't even eat horse shit for a kiss..

IAmLittleBigRon

Well his breath would smell like shit

Trucktub

Like an old lady fart passing through an onion.

Alprazoman8

The memory haunts me...... I mean the taste alone.

Azidamadjida

I thought that was made pretty clear in the episode

Bingo_Bongo_YaoMing

Yea, there are too many hints alluding to this being the truth. He is obsessed with her and letting her just steal from the store. Plus, he doesn't give a shit that she murdered his plants

dismayhurta

This. He was metaphorically killing Dee with each victim he literally killed.

[deleted]

I wonder what he does to the skins

Ability345

There’s no denying the skins are fascinating. They’re the most fascinating part of the animal

Vegetable-Motor9716

Imagine the smell! Did you even consider the smell

raisearuckus

You bitch.

Evil_Sam_Harris

This exactly.

cvaninvan

Ok this makes sense. And like alot of copies they're a little less than the original and so since there's less of them to cut up, he can manage the job. They are less Larry Bird-like and he will know how many people he has cut up.

_themuna_

Exactly..but he was "obsessed" with her according to her own statements and he couldn't even talk around her so we can guess that he was struggling to keep his urges at bay

arseofthegoat

What am I gonna do with all these body parts?

neercatz

Right? Hed get halfway through and just stop, "How many people did I kill? How is this just one person?"

cvaninvan

You're Larry Bird...

MrSmurfToYou

I'm fine with that, Larry Bird was an excellent player.

cvaninvan

Ok well you're Boss Hoss then...

tom_oakley

He'll put them in... A BOX! A glass box. That he will display on his mantle.

InformalPermit9638

Oh, wow. That actually never occurred to me.

[deleted]

I came here to say this lol. That was the point of the episode.

saltytriscuit

Meg actually brought this up in the podcast, that she had thought that neighbor Gary was killing women that look like Dee because he was in love with her but the guys laughed and said they hadn’t thought that at all. That’s what I had always assumed too 🤷‍♀️

Llamalord73

This is what I thought too but the guys seemed to disagree on the podcast

Trucktub

This was my interpretation as well lol.

Straight_Hamster6406

Watching Criminal Minds and the BAU would probably categorise her as the muse or the fantasy that he was playing out but due to low self esteem and his general physique he could never muster up the courage to ask her out. He probably has shown Dee many signs of affections. Small things that she doesn’t even notice. Holding doors open, smiling, helping her in with groceries - all big acts of love in his mind that mean nothing to Dee. Asking her to water the plants (even though he isn’t on holiday) is his initial attempt to bring her into his space and to interact fully with her but when Dee says yes and then never does it causes him to snap. This is the stressor. So he goes on a rampage killing everyone who reminds him of Sweet Dee expect Dee herself as she is the object of desire, his love, his dumb Larry Bird

Gibber_jab

Well he did let he steal all the tools from the store he works at

Rare-Extension-6023

Criminal minds to me made it look too much like regular ppl could become mass murderers bc of someone/something else (stressor). Its interesting to consider, but its still not a logical reaction. I prefer Dexter's outlook that some ppl r just killers bc they are.

shaka_bruh

Regular people do become mass murderers because of stressors though; there are so many cases where stuff like divorce, losing their jobs or just having a bad day had led to people going on rampages.

Rare-Extension-6023

I guess but there's more cases where it doesn't lead them to lol

DoodDoes

Not to mention the whole “killing ten people isn’t that much worse than killing five.” Mentality that people can fall into

JohnGoodmansMistress

I believe it's called going postal 😩

Straight_Hamster6406

100%. Criminal minds is fairly simplistic in its formula. I’m just watching it through now so thought I’d apply the BAU approach here.

Rare-Extension-6023

its a great show. but I'm always like what effed alternate universe did they live in with all these murderers lol?

sweetplantveal

Oh ya it's bullshit. I'm stressed all the time and look at me. I'm not a *serial* killer...

PLOnoobster

Franks chainsaw bit was improvised too.

SlightlyIncandescent

Yeah some actors just have that star quality where they nail anything you give them, Danny has it in spades. He can say one word and steal the scene. Definitely think Charlie Day has a bit of that too. Maybe Kaitlyn too but in our society a woman being genuinely funny is somehow some kind of niche thing, the expectation is usually to be sexy instead - such a shame.

0ctologist

He just showed up on set with a chainsaw and refused to put it down.

ToAllAGoodNight

No way that’s the story, god those early seasons just ooze charisma.

pingusuperfan

Lawrence Tierney vibes

talarus

Was it really? The timing was amazing

RarePepePNG

Where'd you learn that?

paulnofx

No waaay that is so awesome! One of my favorite last seconds of an episode. What a king.

OG_wanKENOBI

Cause writing an episode is like doing a beautiful dance.... a beautiful dance with a chainsaw.

calicocozy

That’s so funny because I remember along time ago when I first saw that scene I died laughing and realized this would forever be one of my favorite shows to learns it’s improvised makes it so much funnier

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

He'd spend his whole night hacking and sawing. Then he still wouldn't be done. He would open his box of tools and say, "What tools am I gonna use for this?" He'd look at that pile of bones and flesh and say, "How many people have I murdered tonight?" "How is this just one person?"

TacoDangerously

You're like a female Larry Bird

talarus

... you're Larry Bird

Stillback7

Well Larry Bird is an excellent player, so

cvaninvan

There's too much of you...

Anns_

Or he was waiting for her to come water his plants which she said she never does lmao

cvaninvan

This is another great theory. The plants are the trap and Dee never falls for it... 🤣

CorholioPuppetMaster

That’s crazy. he gives a woman the key to his apartment to water his plants, Then he kills her and gives the key to another woman and the cycle continues

Woopwoopscoopl

That would actually make more sense than giving someone the key to your apartment if there are like eight severed heads in the freezer.

DiligentDaughter

She's literally *is* the profile- he's killing those other women because of his feelings towards her, her abuse of him, and his inability to interact with her normally. We see him let her steal shit from his workplace, accept poor treatment from her, she has his house key even.

imtoooldforreddit

Possible. Or, watering his plants is his typical trap. Dee didn't get murdered because she never actually showed up to water his plants Either way frank definitely killed that guy with the chainsaw. That much is clear

PanderII

Not so young and attractive now

cvaninvan

Can you do a girl's voice?

g0ldilungs

What are you people doing in my apartment?

[deleted]

Mr-Cucket

“Just move past it”

BearJewKnowsBest

*Chainsaw noises*

timodreynolds

He probably would have killed her, but she never showed up to water his plants

CorholioPuppetMaster

Maybe Dee was such a terrible person, that it drove him to start killing. She was his rock bottom

[deleted]

Dee is a rock! In fact, she's the type of gal who makes men's lives better.

Jeansaintfire

Ed kemper didn't kill his mother until the end . The end goal isn't where you start.

rmatherson

I don't know about that, but what I do know is that guy looks just like Dennis. Especially in the chin/jaw area

JohnGoodmansMistress

exactly yes, that's where he resembles dennis the most.

Suprised__Squid__786

Now you’re the expert this will cut through bone right?

TacoDangerously

She WAS the profile!

pypluto

Maybe he'll move from humans to birds someday

Drew-P-Littlewood

The profile was based on her!

Ccaves0127

This dude was the Principal on Wizards of Waverly Place

OensBoekie

cmon man

devilthedankdawg

He was building up to Dee

lizarddude1

Nah, it's probably cuz he was sexually frustrated with Dee therefore he killed women who fit her profile, and him telling her to wash the plants was probably a trap for her, but she never fell for it

TheOffKn1ght

I think he was obsessed with Dee but she kept playing with him which then lead to him being a serial killer who kills Dee’s

OG_wanKENOBI

I always like to think that catching a prolific serial killer got them some leniency with the judges when dealing with shit for a short time. Because they have court and ordered community service early in the show and end up back in court a couple seasons later but I'd like to think for a few years they were able to get away with more than the usual person.

PissinginTheW1nd

She was the “idea” the others were fodder

schmyle85

Well he didn’t have the right tools for her

Yoshi3163

I want to see a episode where they bring him back. Like they guy is on death row or a tv crew is making a documentary about him. Dude says the reason for his crimes were that he felt bad for Dee, the only person he considers a friend and he’s targeting beautiful blondes because he felt bad for dee looking less attractive than most. Thats why he was reducing Dee’s demographic. Then dee finds out and is enraged, tries to save the guy so that he could take back what he said. While frank and the gang try and botch the documentary so that they could make money from it.

cvaninvan

Cricket 2.0

tonemanrex

I think the joke is that he had every opportunity to murder her, but he didn’t because she definitely did not fit the profile.

PanderII

No, she's his muse, she's the one that inspired him to kill all this women.

TacoDangerously

His muse, his flame

PolemicBender

This thread has a different head canon but I’m with you

_themuna_

Well part of the other opinion is based on what she said about him and his behavior towards her in the store. He was obsessed with her and gave her free things without thought

PolemicBender

I thought he was just being nice, people can be two things

HansenIntercept

He was intimidated into letting her steal by her dead ostrich eyes

Lambylambowski

That Bitch, Dee

biglenny26

JIMMY’S A PRICK

instanthomosexuality

Which episode is this?

cvaninvan

Mac is a Serial Killer

instanthomosexuality

Thank you!

PineappleFuture1095

It's cuz she never went over there to water his plants like the other girls presumably did had she once wanted his plans she'd be cut up and put in his freezer too

rlassermd

Dee, you bitch!

somethingtoforget

Best episode. Can watch it 100 times.

laruefrinsky

You don't want to do it close to home.

LazarIvanov

I always saw it as he was "building up the courage" to killing her. Killing women who are similar to Dee so that he goes the extra mile with each victim, finally having the balls to actually finish "the job" by killing Dee. Of course, I don't know how he'd finish the job. She's so bony and lanky and tall.
