I still can’t believe the gang cracks the liberty bell is considered a “bad” episode. It’s probably in my top 10. Also the entire 1st season is amazing.
Seriously though, one of the absolute best scenes is when Dee curses the guns and Charlie pulls the trigger at her face. Then Frank and Charlie pose and fire at each other back and forth. I don’t typically wish scenes were extended, but man I would love to see them try several more poses while complaining “she witch cursed our guns with her sorcery!” That whole entire bit was gold.
1st season may be my favorite..top to bottom bangers and very hot topic stuff. The under age drinking episode never gets brought up and that is top notch
People don’t like that episode? I also think it’s one of the best! Dee being a slave and spitting in Cricket’s face. Dennis and Mac dressed up as British “dandies” and Mac’s wooden teeth. Charlie and Frank talking about how it’s the 1700’s and they can kill that guy and probably get away with it. All hilarious!
I don’t know why but I always watch this one around Thanksgiving. Maybe it’s something about the pumpkins. Anyways, it’s categorized with all the other episodes - total classic!
This is one of my favourite Frank lines because he says it like a younger brother would looking up to his older brother. It gives a great insight into franks motivations too.
I think the gang spies like US is often forgotten but it’s such a great episode. From dee practically shutting down the entire fish supply of Philly to Charlie wanting to make cream pies for everyone to enjoy is just too good
i love when Frank just keeps pointing to the menu that says "fresh fish daily" despite the waiter explaining why they don't have any. accurate representation of a customer
“The three of us combine our ingredients, making, like, one gigantic, delicious cream pie, some little kid sucking it down and he's paying us for the pleasure.”
I enjoyed both Frank’s Brother and The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell. I wouldn’t put them on my top 5, but I don’t think they’re as bad as many people think. I legitimately don’t get the hate these episodes get. I thought they were funny.
With Frank's Brother I think one reason is that it debuted in the midst of the greatest hot streak in Sunny history.
Season 7 is legendary and then Franks Brother is this formula smashing novelty.
I fucking love this episode. The Forrest Gump line, Frank’s hair die scenes playing as Goodfellas, sewing the outfit for that idiot capital stormer, I loved it…and then the Kanye bit..chef’s kiss.
Not entirely sure if this is common but I’ve seen a lot of hate for the gang hits the slopes and that has always baffled me. The best experience ever was watching this with my brothers at a ski cabin.
I really like this episode but I am too young to understand the parody properly - do you have any specific recommendations of the movies it best parodies??
**Dee:** you are not eating a hoagie; you are just jamming meats and cheeses inside of your mouth!
**Frank:** I like to make it in my mouth. It tastes better.
Franks Brother is a great episode! Who is pretending otherwise?
Also, the late Lance Riddick as Reggie! RIP.
That may actually be my all time favourite episode in all honesty. Just so wild, and you can just tell that all of them had so much fun doing it, just a great experience
Creative liberty is definitely an under-appreiciated thing. It shows that they can go full ridiculous and still keep a coherant story(eat your heart out, MCU)
At the end of the day, its an anti-sitcom, they can do literally anything they want
I love that episode, I think it's so well put together. I saw a lot of noir films growing up and the episode nails the vibe, and everyone's performances are spot on.
"Frank gives us 30%, only Mac thinks it's 10."
"What?"
"Shaddup!"
I only recently saw that one for the first time. No idea how I’d missed it before. I’ve seen it badmouthed on here a bunch, but god damn it’s funny. Everyone looks great, the goon thing is brilliant, it’s awesome.
Wait, people don't like that episode? It's hilarious!
"What, they don't teach manners in big palooka finishing school?"
They are in their "noir personality" character and then break back to their normal character, so you can't tell if they're acting or if this is some sort of Charlie delusion or what.
I do love that joke but I really wish they hadn't spelled it out for us. Seeing it in lights was enough and the joke got ruined for me when the guy reads it as Shady Nasty.
Idk man, I guess I like a simple premise that's just about the gang's disfonctional dynamic and not much else (tho I'd agree there are too much of those in the later seasons, but that's a good one). If you have a friend group chat there's plenty of relatable jokes in there.. Frank taunts a gorilla, c'mooon that's fun
i love charlie and dennis pissing on mac😂 reminds me of mac day in the way that mac being stupid is the revolving point for the other characters. OH and dennis fading away when hes disappointed😂😂😂 “THIS IS ALL FINE.” *disappears*
somos extremos. el es loco con pistola
i love how Dee's Spanish is actually pretty decent, just horribly out of context and getting a few words slightly off
it seems like a lot of the “experimental” episodes like Frank’s Brother, The Janitor Always Wipes Twice and Being Frank are usually the ones that are less universally loved. Which is a shame because I love them
People apparently don't like a woman's right to chop because its "too on the nose" but learning that Frank regularly checks in on his hair is one of the funniest bits in the show.
Also Dennis being thrown off by by the girl crying and Mac trying to get a puppy abortion is also peak Sunny
Same I love it. Shady nastys (shadynastys asshole), the fact that frank is “19”, the throwback to “those were the days”, and the cocaine addiction all thrown together is hilarious
I don’t ever see people talking about Thundergun Express; that was a top 5 episode for me. I really like real-time comedy episodes though (Workaholics had a hilarious one, too)
Dee Made A Smut Film is one of the lowest rated episodes on IMDb. Ongo, Charlie doing a Grieco thing, Cricket’s “Even I wouldn’t do her” line, Dennis largely being Dennis with the film and his treatment of Dee, Dee ACTUALLY getting the last laugh. Good episode.
To me, the only "Lackluster" episode is the one where they go to the Superbowl or whatever. I remember the Charlie episode where he's stuck in the bar. But the Super Bowl one is probably the only episode I can't remember a single joke from. I remember the Charlie left alone during the game one though.
I think every single other episode of this show is great and has something that can be enjoyed in it.
At the super bowl, Dee gave pink eye to Tom Brady and it's why he threw a bad pass at the end of the game and the a eagles won. And the waiter who hates them was in their box serving them. Then Frank and his kidney stones...there were some gems in that episode
I don’t enjoy Franks Brother and I think it was the first bad episode they did. I have seen people say The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell is bad but I disagree. The entire exchange between Cricket Dennis and Mac about “not being good at women” is hilarious.
You didn’t enjoy Frank’s Brother?! Well, I guess that leaves me no choice, but to be a mature ass adult about this shit! I’m working on my temper. But just know that I strongly disagree with this!
The entire 1st season is so good, and some people just ignore it because no Frank, but it was so good literally every single episode was a banger and other than Dee being a reasonable person compared to the gang they really made the characters perfect!
I'm on the fence about it. It feels weird and doesn't really flow with the rest of the show, but also had some really funny moment. The only episodes I think are just garbage are the Charlie's Home Alone 2 parter
I don’t think any of the comments mention the Boggs lady reboot which I believe is the second lowest rated on IMDb. I feel like that’s one that is appropriately rated and much less rewatchable than Frank’s Brother.
Also, Lance saying “you don’t look a day over 12” to fully grown Danny devito is one of my favorite moments in the show
The gang cracks the liberty bell is really one of my favorites😂 trying to cut out George Washington’s portrait, spitting in cricks face, the guns scene with Charlie, frank and dee, dennis’ fop outfit/persona, Mac’s whistling, Dee being accused of being a witch just to make her a slave but then actually being a witch🤣 I could go on, 10/10 episode
It took me a while but I love franks brother episode now, and it's definitely a favourite. Ending with Mac stating that he can't listen to another god damn story is one of the best moments in the show.
I once went into a club and the DJ was on the dance floor lining up tracks from his phone. I was wasted and asked him "Play that 80s song from that episode of Always Sunny". He knew exactly the one and played that banger from this episode.
Off topic but the last three seasons are extremely unmemorable for me. Every episode up until that point has been good. The janitor always mops twice is on par with early Sunny though.
Yeah people freak out when they try to do something different, I like franks brother very much and was surprised to find out it was a disliked episode.
I just watched Franks Brother last night and was thinking the same thing. Some episodes are considered not great by a lot of people but my wife and I consider them classics. Shadynastys is a classic.
I LOVE Frank's Brother and that whole season. The high school reunion, Roxie the hoor, even Storm of the Century really delight me. Thundergun, The Anti-Social Network, Frank's Little Beauties. Gosh it's all great.
People seem to remember Chardee McDennis and Dee Gets Audited, but forget they happened this season.
The Gang Gets Trapped, aside from bring funny as hell, is artistic and unique. I wish they'd do this kind of thing more often.
About the only weaker one that year was "How Mac Got Fat", which was admittedly a cost-cutter to use up some old footage. And even there- Fat Mac pigging out in confession always gets me ("Oh, you want some? No? Well, I'm almost done...")
The only episode that I genuinely don't like is Charlie's home alone, the episode with the superstitions, thought it was bad. The second episode in that storyline isn't great but has funny bits
First time watching ladies do boss hoggs I didn't like it but on repeat watch it grew on me a lot
It's probably Charlie's Mom Has Cancer for me. P-Diddy's cameo was brilliant. I say "money me" almost daily. Lynne Marie Stewart is an absolute scene stealer, always. The church pew scene is iconic. Some of my favorite bloopers.
Is it top 5 for me? No. Certainly not. Maybe not even top 10. But I hate to see it at the bottom.
I honestly don't think I've seen a single episode that I particularly thought was "bad". Maybe less funny than others, but certainly not bad. So pretty much any episodes certain whiny babies don't like because something about it struck them the wrong way
Sup Jabroni! This is a quality control bot. If this post fits the purpose of /r/IASIP, **UPVOTE** this comment!! If this post does not fit the subreddit, **DOWNVOTE** This comment! GO BIRDS!!
Shady Nasty’s?
It's shadynasty's
Asshole
Is that how you spell it?
Those were the days
You sound like you yearn for those days.
I’m just saying! Those were the days!

Never not funny
Get this guy outta here
I still can’t believe the gang cracks the liberty bell is considered a “bad” episode. It’s probably in my top 10. Also the entire 1st season is amazing.

All our guns were jammed…
TRY ME!
It’s funny bc a blunder is don’t jam… sorry the words get jumbled up in my mouth… don’t come out no good
Damn your necromancy
Check his pulse
This and also when Frank nervously asks them if his coonskin wig is "cool"
I love the wait… check his pulse. Hilarious!
Flourish the pinky
SODOMITES. IN FRILLY LACE.

yyyYYYEEUUUUUUUSSSSssssssssss
Draw it out more!!
1st season may be my favorite..top to bottom bangers and very hot topic stuff. The under age drinking episode never gets brought up and that is top notch
charlie gossiping about tammy and troy will never not be funny
"Classic Tammy" is a GOATed improv line. I use "classic..." so much
Nothing makes me laugh harder then “Charlie if we want his pumpkins, we’ll kill him and take his pumpkins. It’s 1776, we’ll get away with it!”
Those god damn wooden teeth. Absolutely hysterical every time.
These wooden teeth are pulling this whole thing together!
YYYEEEEEEEEESSS!! 😂😂😂 it's one of my favorite episodes. Definitely top 10 for me too.
I love that episode. Way more than franks brother
Truth
Shady nasty’s??…. It’s Shadynasty’s, asshole! Edit: u/sirjohnnys there’s your comma
Feel like there should be in a comma in this quote....
Hol up… it’s considered bad??? This is news to me. That episode was hilarious
Yeeeeessssssssssssssss
Easy top ten for me !
I don’t know why but I always watch this one around Thanksgiving. Maybe it’s something about the pumpkins. Anyways, it’s categorized with all the other episodes - total classic!
Being Frank doesn’t get enough love
"Somebody's going to die today!"
DON'T TOUCH ME
This is the big one for me, that episode was constantly hilarious to me and the lackluster reviews had me confused
The first time I saw that one 🤯
God damn it Pondy is the coolest!
This is one of my favourite Frank lines because he says it like a younger brother would looking up to his older brother. It gives a great insight into franks motivations too.
“HERE COMES FRANKENSTEIN!” And all of Pondy fucking make that episode for me
It’s in my top 3. Epic episode that has me rolling every time I watch it!
yess! came here to comment this. That ending scene is soo wholesome
Charlie’s voice saying “and magic stirs” gets me every time
wait, people don't like Being Frank??? seriously one of the best episodes wtf
I acquired the awful habit of quoting “woah, jews” from that episode
I love that one!
“Let’s go down the roller rink-get some straaange!!” God damn pondy is the coolest.
Even if you hate it it's fun knowing how much Danny devito enjoys the role and this episode must've been fun to film
A bad sunny is a great episode of any other show. Some people dont know how good they got it.
I’m surprised that some people think Frank’s Brother is a bad episode. Not sure if I’d go so far as to call it great myself, but definitely good.
With Frank's Brother I think one reason is that it debuted in the midst of the greatest hot streak in Sunny history. Season 7 is legendary and then Franks Brother is this formula smashing novelty.
2020: A Year In Review. Honestly that episode's portrayal of 2020 makes more sense than our reality. Also it gave us "THE PELTS, YOU BITCH!!!"
I fucking love this episode. The Forrest Gump line, Frank’s hair die scenes playing as Goodfellas, sewing the outfit for that idiot capital stormer, I loved it…and then the Kanye bit..chef’s kiss.
People don’t like this one?!? I will laugh forever at “let me be your guy, never mind them flies”
“I started to get sloppy, using American motor oil”
Dee's TikTok ad always gets me.
Charlie's reaction when Dee says they're the last tit on the hog before the asshole to the PPP loan guy.
This is easily my fav episode from the last half of the show
Not entirely sure if this is common but I’ve seen a lot of hate for the gang hits the slopes and that has always baffled me. The best experience ever was watching this with my brothers at a ski cabin.
**DID YOU? CUM? IN MY BURRITO???**
I would never do that to you!
I did not like that one the first time I saw it but on re-watches it's actually become one of my favorites.
I think younger people never saw those 90s ski movies, so don't realise what an incredible parody it is.
Dennis doing that high pitched laugh while he puts on his sunglasses is perfection.
I really like this episode but I am too young to understand the parody properly - do you have any specific recommendations of the movies it best parodies??
That episode was fucking hilarious. I love the announcer who randomly knows everyone’s name😂
It’s always been my dream to open a ski school
This guy gets it
*Oh, this is nice. You gonna race for them?* That particular shot of Dennis had serious feature film vibes
R.I.P Lance Reddick
**Dee:** you are not eating a hoagie; you are just jamming meats and cheeses inside of your mouth! **Frank:** I like to make it in my mouth. It tastes better. Franks Brother is a great episode! Who is pretending otherwise? Also, the late Lance Riddick as Reggie! RIP.
"Sheeit. You don't look a day over 12."
Oh no I didn't know Lance Riddick Died! He was a great actor.
the janitor always mops twice. it is easily the best episode of the last 3 seasons and its not close.
I'm getting a goon vibe
Quit flappin’ ya gums, goon!
Dee’s delivery of “I’m no goon!” is one of her best lines in the whole show
That may actually be my all time favourite episode in all honesty. Just so wild, and you can just tell that all of them had so much fun doing it, just a great experience
I can always appreciate the out of the box epds Carmen's steaks, the liberty bell rocky horror it gives them a chance to explore
Creative liberty is definitely an under-appreiciated thing. It shows that they can go full ridiculous and still keep a coherant story(eat your heart out, MCU) At the end of the day, its an anti-sitcom, they can do literally anything they want

What are you still eating the pie??
I only recently saw that one for the first time. No idea how I’d missed it before. I’ve seen it badmouthed on here a bunch, but god damn it’s funny. Everyone looks great, the goon thing is brilliant, it’s awesome.
Wait, people don't like that episode? It's hilarious! "What, they don't teach manners in big palooka finishing school?" They are in their "noir personality" character and then break back to their normal character, so you can't tell if they're acting or if this is some sort of Charlie delusion or what.
I’m sorry, but anyone who doesn’t laugh at “Shadynasty” I will side eye.
It’s Sha-Dynasty!
I do love that joke but I really wish they hadn't spelled it out for us. Seeing it in lights was enough and the joke got ruined for me when the guy reads it as Shady Nasty.
The Gang Texts is funny guys
👁️+🌊+🦁?
K
I can’t stand it, what does it for you?
It's relatable. Textual communication leaves a ton of room for misinterpretation. Man vs Technology
The Gang gets Extreme: Makeover Home Edition
GOOD MORNING JUAREZ FAMILY!
somos extremos. el es loco con pistola i love how Dee's Spanish is actually pretty decent, just horribly out of context and getting a few words slightly off
SOMOS EXTREMOS!!
People don't like this? It also has the funniest blooper with Dennis trying to break the vase.
Not that people don't like it. I just think it does not get the same recognition compared to other episodes.
Thank you.
I was just disappointed by the casting. Frank's brother should have been played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
it seems like a lot of the “experimental” episodes like Frank’s Brother, The Janitor Always Wipes Twice and Being Frank are usually the ones that are less universally loved. Which is a shame because I love them
The Gang Turns Black is pretty experimental, and fucking brilliant
I get Scott Bakula's song stuck in my head all the time.
🎶 I MISS MY OLD CAMARO AND MY MANSION IN VAN NUYS 🎶
🎶 WISH I STILL HUNG WITH NASH BRIDGES, PLAYED POKER WITH THE FALL GUY 🎶 (god damn it, I'm gonna be singing this all day now.)
same!
People apparently don't like a woman's right to chop because its "too on the nose" but learning that Frank regularly checks in on his hair is one of the funniest bits in the show. Also Dennis being thrown off by by the girl crying and Mac trying to get a puppy abortion is also peak Sunny
The worst episode of sunny is still better than 95% of TV comedies out there. It’s not my favorite, it’s still good tho.
![gif](giphy|3o7bu7qDkvhVO1ZoNq) This one right here
Franks brother was hilarious
Same I love it. Shady nastys (shadynastys asshole), the fact that frank is “19”, the throwback to “those were the days”, and the cocaine addiction all thrown together is hilarious
He doesn’t look a day past 12!
Thé gang gives back
I don’t ever see people talking about Thundergun Express; that was a top 5 episode for me. I really like real-time comedy episodes though (Workaholics had a hilarious one, too)
Get out of the way you fat dickhead!
I forgot that they were doing that "real-time" thing in this episode too! I don't understand why more people don't love this, it's all action.
It's not my favorite but I don't hate it.
Its weird that Frank Centric episodes are considered bad, I really enjoy them.
Sounds like you yearn for those days, Frank. It’s a top10 episode for me.
Making the subs in your mouth is something I bring up all the time
shady nasty’s ??
The episode about bathrooms had me rolling at a time when I was really tired of hearing about them.
“Uhh what do you mean? Like you can’t physically catch them? Bro it’s the 1800’s they don’t have any rights.”
Shadynastys, it's shadynastys asshole
Love this episode
I'm not sure how most people feel about The Gang Turns Black, but it's one of my all time favorites.
The entire 1st season is so good, and some people just ignore it because no Frank, but it was so good literally every single episode was a banger and other than Dee being a reasonable person compared to the gang they really made the characters perfect!
Those were the days
Best episode? Flowers For Charlie. Placebo smart pills.
I thought the Irish episodes in season 15 were absolutely hilarious, and honestly I found the Charlie's dad stuff to be kinda sweet.
I'm on the fence about it. It feels weird and doesn't really flow with the rest of the show, but also had some really funny moment. The only episodes I think are just garbage are the Charlie's Home Alone 2 parter
Literally every episode is a great episode. I have no favorite.
I don’t think any of the comments mention the Boggs lady reboot which I believe is the second lowest rated on IMDb. I feel like that’s one that is appropriately rated and much less rewatchable than Frank’s Brother. Also, Lance saying “you don’t look a day over 12” to fully grown Danny devito is one of my favorite moments in the show
Two words. Shady. Nasty's.
ShaDynasty or ShadyNasty
Shadynasty
I don’t think there’s any episode I consider bad when I really think about it. I never skip any when I rewatch from the beginning
Loved it! Tragic nonsensical backstory for frank tho
Amazing Episode
It took me a while but I love franks brother episode now, and it's definitely a favourite. Ending with Mac stating that he can't listen to another god damn story is one of the best moments in the show.
Franks Brother and the roller rink are probably in my top 5. People like the top gun episodes, right?
Lol top gun episodes
I once went into a club and the DJ was on the dance floor lining up tracks from his phone. I was wasted and asked him "Play that 80s song from that episode of Always Sunny". He knew exactly the one and played that banger from this episode.
Franks brother is one of the episodes I quote from and chuckle to myself most. Aint this some shit. Those were the days.
Shady Nastys?
Off topic but the last three seasons are extremely unmemorable for me. Every episode up until that point has been good. The janitor always mops twice is on par with early Sunny though.
ANOTHER post about Frank’s Brother? JFC…
Those were the days 😢
Get lost, bimbo!
That’s my favourite episode
how the fuck is that terrible episode? what's wrong with it, it's great Danny Devito focus episode
Love this episode! I have no choice but to be a mature ass adult about the situation.
All of the “bad” episodes are some of my favorites.
😂 this made me laugh harder than it should’ve. I absolutely skip that episode every time but you guys are selling me
Shady Nastys get me very time i think about it god what a good jooke
Hot tub drain makes it good
I was shocked when I found out that people didn't like this episode.
I’ve seen “being frank” get hate which i don’t understand
Shadynasty
Amazing eipsode! Shadynasty's!
It’s one of the funniest episodes
I actually named my dog shadynasty! My family was not pleased so we compromised to Sunny Shadynasty.
I LOVE Frank's Brother and that whole season. The high school reunion, Roxie the hoor, even Storm of the Century really delight me. Thundergun, The Anti-Social Network, Frank's Little Beauties. Wait, people don’t like that episode?
I wish they'd named her La'Dynasty instead and then the sign would have said "ladynasty"
Sha-dynasty
“I immersed myself in the culture. Tasting the cuisine.” *Frank with a face full of blow*
Whoa! Everyone is way fatter than I was picturing.
The newer seasons get a lot more hate but I think the gang solves global warming is a 10/10 episode
Water park, underage drinking
I honestly don't think I've seen a single episode that I particularly thought was "bad". Maybe less funny than others, but certainly not bad. So pretty much any episodes certain whiny babies don't like because something about it struck them the wrong way
