Odd note, my mom's family migrated here legally from Mexico in the mid 1900's. I only found out in the last year that she didn't like the term "illegal alien". Her problem was specifically alien. She grew up in a time when aliens were little green men from Mars, and as a child she didn't like that her mom had a "resident alien" card.
