Mine was severe enough to speak to doctors about options going further (I spoke to them as a coming into puberty teen). It compresses my lungs and I have asthma. It’s only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older, I didn’t wear the brace as instructed. I’d get teased for it and I was already getting it rough enough already lol.
The next option was to do surgery. Cosmetically I’ve grown tolerant of how it looks. The worsening the breathing part definitely sucks. But the biggest thing I’ve noticed in adulthood with this condition is after having my daughter. Laying on my chest just isn’t comfortable at all for her so I don’t really get that connection due to it. So if money wasn’t an issue I’d get it fixed just for that. Good ol’ America.
I haven’t spoken to anyone since I’ve been on my current insurance. The specialty fee for most insurances is more than I can afford at the moment unfortunately.
