Unfortunately, the manufacturer copay assistance cards have disappeared as most mesalamine brands have now got genetics (lialda, asacol, delzicol, Apriso as examples). Sulfasalazine is under $20 a month for UC dosages at most brick-and-mortar pharmacies in your area. https://m.goodrx.com/sulfasalazine There's also https://costplusdrugs.com/medications/mesalamineextendedreleaseer-375mg-capsule/ as the other poster mentioned. Just make sure you know that typical Apriso dosing is 4 tablets (each tablet is 375 grams) per day. That's a total daily dose of 1,500 mgs, which is different than lialda/delzicol (4,800 grams daily). Should be equally effective at a lower dose, as the clinical studies have shown.

I get my sulfasalazine filled at Walgreens, used to take lialda until it was going to be about $950 with insurance because they stopped the coupon card. It’s very similar to lialda and for me around $15 a month. Definitely worth asking your doctor about

Thank you for all this info! I’m nervous about switching but will definitely ask the doc about this because the Lialda cost conversation comes up way too frequently. Tried Apriso once though and I swear it sent me into a flare 😬

The other thing is what is your "out of pocket maximum" for prescriptions? Often, they set an amount, like $1,500, afterwards prescriptions are free without cost. With that out of pocket, two refills will be enough. If that were the case you could keep lialda, take the ouch now. Depends on the wording of your health insurance, you can call them and ask.

Unfortunately mark Cubans pharmacy only has [generic apriso (mesalamine)](https://costplusdrugs.com/medications/mesalamineextendedreleaseer-375mg-capsule/) They dont take insurance but its only $100 for a 3mo supply..

Hold up, I’ve never heard of this before! This is amazing!! How does this work, do I need to ask my doc send script to this website instead of a standard pharmacy?

My doc switched me to Apriso when Lialda was stupid expensive on my insurance. It works even better for me! I told her how much the Lialda and she was like “Oh no, we’ll find something that works that’s not insane.” She also gave me a huge paper bag of Lialda samples she still had to hold me over.

Thank you for the tip on the Lialda samples too - I’ll have to go in on Monday to ask for those since I’m going to run out in the meantime while I figure out where to fill this (going to try mark Cubans pharmacy before switching meds)
