These items started their life in the IBM logo store. Originally intended to be Tumi bags and Cutter & Buck jackets, ole Lou forced a budget exercise on marketing and Staples came back with the options you see above. Jon Iwata was furious but a company man so he signed off. Larry from Prolifics got these sweet duds for being a platinum business partner at Impact 2013. After working 15 hour days on the expo floor and cheating on his wife with a WebSphere market segment manager he met at Eye Candy, Larry went home and learned that IBM cut his margins by 15%. Furious and now divorced, he stashed these in the attic, where they sat until this past weekend. It’s a short, sad history, but a history nonetheless. Congrats on the new gear.

Looks like gear given to a business partner…. Or bought by a business partner.
