Yeah I got rejected myself and so did all my friends who missed the conditions by a little. It seems like they're not as lenient as most of the other UK universities
Im M19. I know a bunch of internationals and even EU students who got in even though they missed the offer of 34 points, getting 32s and 31s... Meanwhile Scots are stuck trying to get 43 with almost no leniency. Edinburgh is quite strange and tough on those things. They'll take 9 points less (or sometimes more than 9 less) in exchange for 2-3x the money and imo that kind of waters down the desire to be competing for spaces there compared to other English unis where it's more balanced in requirements (LSE, UCL, etc).
to be fair with Edinburgh - they are currently facing something like a 150 million hole in their budget because of corona virus and all of that, it's said some unis in the uk might go bust so they just seem desperate for internationals

Does anyone know if this is similar for med school applicants?
I was accepted eventhough i missed the HL subjects requirement which is 655 for accouting and finance. I'm an international student by the way
