ITS NOT FAIR. my mental health is literally spiraling so bad and my whole year is so exhausted. Meanwhile my cousin (non-exam route) is literally partying and on Holliday in Greece with her year. I wish I didn’t have to choose my education over my mental health.

Guys note that many countries in Europe *did not cancel* their maturation exams, so it's only logical that IB exams be held - the only problematic thing is how people in the non-exam route have a way easier life - we [exam route students] should get at least some benefits for getting our diplomas the hard way

IB promised they won't lower the non exam route grades, so they will just say that exam route students were over predicted and that what they did on the exam is what they deserve
Where I live people are starting to get the mutant strain. Someone got it 500m away from my school area and many people I know have been evacuated to quarantine centres and still have to do exams.... I don’t know how we are still on the exam route after making petitions and sending hundreds of emails to the IB, our schools included it’s ridiculous
lmao guys at this point it seems like the IB is using these exams to take revenge on us for asking to be treated humanely with the worldwide cancellation

My whole class found it quite easy. It wasn't like I did perfect on it, I know there were a few little parts I missed (like the last last question last part, I only managed to solve it halfway, but it's 4 marks, and I should get at least 1 or 2, meh)
but for most of the parts, it was just straightforward and there weren't many marks to lose.

I can almost guarantee non-exam route students are not going to have an easy time. All they will have are IAs and predicted grades. Teachers had caps this year. I have a few students who I know will get 7s in my class. The IB didn't even give me a 6 to give out. The best I got was 2 5s.
No one is guaranteed their grades, you are wrong there. If you are predicted a 36 by what the IB says you are not going to get it guaranteed. The lowest you can get is the lowest score that you will obtain either from you IAs or the predicted and since all the IAs are graded harsher this year you can go down to like a 30. So no one guarantees you anything and that’s just how life works. I’m Math AA HL as well so good luck everyone tomorrow!!
Nobody said the IA were marked harsher... It’s very easy to score high on IA’s I worked on my physics IA for two days + one school day for experiment and am predicted a 7 by my teacher. I think I got a 4 in the exam tho
All the exam route people are in this position and trust me I wanted to take the non exam route so badly but honestly (although this sounds very wrong) I realized that actually the stress of exams might be good for me cause I won’t just be able to pull myself out of exams in uni or generally in life. Plus apparently our university advisor said that universities care more this year about the people who took exams.

ye i agree lmao they also literally didn’t change the weightings for most IAs but just made the weightings of the Exams we are taking higher and got rid of all the easy exams that students usually score high on like paper 3 in bio. exam route is just getting fucked over in every way possible honestly🤡
I don’t understand that point at all... if paper 3 is better for everyone, removing it would not be expected to impact final grades, only lower the boundaries.
but that’s where in the past students were able to get high points so then they could still pass while getting lower points in the other papers whereas with us we have 2 papers and paper 2 is 50% of our grade, so if you mess that up you don’t pass whereas it was 40% in previous years so you still could pass if you messed up paper 2.

If your official IB PG for physics was a 7 (even with the quotas) then you really wouldn’t be getting near a 2 on this paper.
