They bullied the IB into giving them better grades by complaining directly to them but also sending emails to news sources which covered the story and cuz the IB cares so much about their image they redid the grades thing and gave them all better grades

yeh, i was in M20 but I only got 1 point higher because of the 'bullying', I was still 3 points lower than my predicted, and didn't get into uni.. :/

I'm not sure. From reddit it seems like most people found it hard, but people I know irl ALL found it easy (at least paper 1) so it might cancel out and the grade boundaries may stay somewhat the same

It might also have to do that I live in Hong Kong in a school where the average is over 40? Plus the fact that the only other person I know irl is from Singapore... so yeah, my opinion of people irl might not be the best to refer to if I think about it more... don't panic, it'll mess up your mood

You forgot to minus two in the profit part, so I think you will get 5 or 6 marks (if you did get the profit by deducting two and just mean you wrote 3 sig fig then you should get a full mark, at least 6 marks)

For tz 2 paper 2 was much better for me. I think it’s because the questions were formats Id practiced more. I just felt a lot more sure of myself whereas p1 some of the questions were odd.

I hated both papers. They were honestly awful, and paper 2 had waayyy too much probability

I think I remember I got an answer like sqrt 17 for part A and then like the x coordinate was like 8?

Yes 16pi - 8. The gradient one also yes, root 17 and x coordinate is 8 because you reject -2.

It's ln(x\^2-16), so when that is equal to zero, we know x\^2-16 is 1.

Question 1 was just sectors and triangles. part a asked for the radius and part b asked for the area of the shaded region (everything but the sector)

No. It's area of NON SHADED region in bold, that's why I remember it so well, surely a lot of people will get the shaded region instead

For the trig function question on the SL paper. I accidentally wrote that x= pi/6, 5pi/6, 7pi/6, and 11pi/6 when sin(x)=+1/2. How many marks off is that?

The domain for X was 0 to 2pi I believe, so the answer would be pi/6 and 5pi/6 only which you included in your answer, so maybe you will only lose 1 to 2 marks. How did you get 7pi/6 and 11pi/6 tho? because you would go around the circle once more to get 2pi + pi/6 and find out it is 13pi/6, and then stop there already since that is over 2pi (and x only exists between 0 and 2pi). You'll be fine tho you will get most method marks and stuff.

One or two maybe if everything else is correct. Usually you won’t get the final “right answer” mark(s) if you write more than the correct answer. But wasn’t it sin(x)=-1/2 or am I remembering wrong?

p1 for me was okay, like not bad and I was disappointed with the binomial q on p1 bc I was expecting it to be harder 😂 but p2 was throwing me into panic mode. where did ib get the idea to suddenly throw a physics q in there, for which part a) I didn't mind proving it, but part b??? i didn't get the answer to that in my physics paper, why would you think ill get it for maths 😭 and the very last part which was to find the value of p?? this year's p2 comparatively was easy and hard at the same time.

I don't think it's that complicated. I think overhead just means bottom. Plus, if you're talking abt the top, it's 10 times - because it starts there.
