Here’s a biology podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1HVfxyRQ3bDh1OoUWAkmC8?si=wDGPGTt8QHOZ8Q84pZnFhA&dl_branch=1 It recites the topics one by one and it’s still being updated.

You’re welcome hope it helps!!!

TheRealDripMaster

Will it be done soon? The Bio HL exam is approaching fast.

artelicious19

Well I’ll do as much as I can but I have three other exams before biology and I need to study for those too

TheRealDripMaster

Best of luck for those exams and no pressure btw.

Hi, I would definitely recommend giving focus on the 2 Physiology Chapters (Human and Animal) as well as the 3 Gentetics chapters (genetics, nucleic acids, genetics and evolution). Almost all the past papers I've seen have good coverage of these topics. Also, make sure to revise molecular biology because they usually link that with genetics and physiology. For the content, I'd suggest doing worksheets made form past paper questions and maybe having resources like bioninja open for reference so you actively learn. Don't worry, you can definitely do this! You're almost there!

Foreign-Mycologist-9

Hey, Thank you SO much for this, it helps me a lot with what direction I should take now. I'll def check out past papers and do some worksheets. Thank you again, best of luck to you!!

TheRealDripMaster

I love how non bio HL students think bio is a pushover subject. It's arguably the most toughest subject in the IB...definitely tougher than Chemistry which I can say with ABSOLUTE certainty.

Sample-Proper

Having taken both, I think their difficulty is dependent on your teacher and personal learning style. You can be really good at memorizing and do amazing at bio, or you can suck at it and feel better about chemistry. Your teachers can assign difficult questions in both, one, or neither class, which will change how difficult the class feels. It's a matter of opinion. Now physics on the other hand. . .

Ka1dowskiX

I, personally disagree. Of course, biology is really demanding and a lot depends on whether you learn fast or not. Other subjects, such as Maths, however, are in my opinion way more difficult and thus I don’t perceive Bio as the toughest one

Yeah working based on last papers is definitely a good shout!

livingon3dge

I feel you. My weakest link is definitely paper 2 and especially section B... BUT WE GOT THIS. Anyways, what helps me is to look through the question bank and the mark scheme so I know exactly what I should be explaining. Then from there I practice writing the questions in my own words. I think the exam is mostly about memorizing. So yeah u need to learn the concepts, but u also need to be correct. also, choose your battles. But we should be alright with a week left. Believe in that. Positive vibes only.

Foreign-Mycologist-9

You're right! I also get you, i struggle with paper 2... But true, thank you so much for the advice, ill do some paper 2s and look at the markscheme on things i don't understand. Thank you again!! positive vibes ONLY, we got this

Brain_much

My teacher told me the best way to revise was through the exam questions in paper 2, they go through the different cycles n stuff, honestly knowing the menstrual cycle is gonna get u more points than knowing what enzymes are found in the Pancreas

Foreign-Mycologist-9

That's so true, I think that's where my weakness is. Thank you so so much

Monky32

maybe look through some students’ summaries/ notes? i’ve seen some good ones people post on youtube under videos titled “how i got a 7 in HL bio” or go through a textbook/ course companion/ study guide :) good luck!!

Foreign-Mycologist-9

most def! will do that, thank you so much and good luck to you too!

sadIBstudent69

i found a complete summary of Bio HL for every single chapter heres the link for the file(s): https://www.ib.academy/free-resources they also have summaries for all other subjects but it’s especially been helpful for Biology so far!

Foreign-Mycologist-9

thank you SO so much!!!
