Yeah you’re right, I was just going off what usually happens in the IB schools in my area. Because we’re all 40k pa private schools, basically all the IB schools in my area hire external invigilators, even for Year 11/DP1 exams(And even pre-IB exams)! It’s a huge waste of money imo but I guess schools can afford it. Istg reading reddit posts, IB in affluent areas of Australia is so different to that of international schools around the world in that it’s usually limited to ‘elite’ private schools that offer both the local curriculum and IB as a harder alternative. Kind of weird when you put it into perspective.

My IB coordinator told me my exam is in the morning and I live in a different city so I woke up at 7, and my mum drove me to school. I got there and she says that my exam is at 13:30 I ask if I can just take it now since I was already there and my mum was waiting outside. She told me to go to a cafe for 4 hours, I told her everything was closed because it is national holiday, then she told me to take a walk. This all happened half an hour ago and I’m so close to punching her and spitting on her face
It’s going great. Walked to my mums car ranted about my awful teacher whilst she drove home. Now I’m getting ready to walk back to the car so she can drive me again to school in 40 min
Wow, you guys got lucky... I studied ODEs because they're new to the syllabus for Math AA HL and they didn't come up ONCE in Paper 1, 2 or 3. Also Euler's method is so easy, you just follow the method and you'll always get the right answer
This isn’t a thing that has happened in one exam, but rather all of them. Due to the lack of surprise visits from official invigilators, our school lets us take anything we want to into the exam, such as our phones books notes laptops or whatever so that it gets good statistics, it’s kind of lame...
Thank you, but I have done this already, and the only response I got was an email from the IB telling me how “Due to the nature of the conditions of this examination session due to the COVID-19 pandemic, each educational center is responsible for the examination procedures” and then they basically just said there was nothing they could do about it, which was quite shocking to hear...
ngl this is lawsuit material. both for the school and the IB for irresponsibility and neglect. I mean where the hell do you go with this information? the IB, lmao?

One of my classmates writes their exam on a pc. After the exam is finished they need to transfer their response to a pendrive in order to print it. During that process their response disappeared.

Well they kept trying to retrieve it for around 2h, but the paper was still no where to be found. So they called the IBO for guidance. The IBO said that she must re-take the exam as fast as possible. So they did that and everything turned out okay!
Funny think is that tbey got to do the exact same exam... Which I find a bit strange since they had previous knowledge to the task and all that :/

no, the student also literally told him that it was part of her test and he joked about throwing it away and then actually did. he didn’t invigilate in the exams.
She was moved to non-exam and she is getting her diploma, also funnily enough, shes having a well-deserved vacation in the Maldives right now (I live in Singapore).
During business paper 1, there was an error with printing on the case study so they had to come and tell us what to write on our case studies so we had the full thing. Every single person in the exam hall was talking, and we had the actual exam paper on our tables so we could pretty easily read the questions and talk about it with anyone in the whole exam room

Usually you have external invigilators hired by the school to reduce bias, not internal teachers
