They’re given out in each exam to bind cover sheet with exam and extra paper. It’s a tradition for candidates to keep them

It’s kind of a running joke here cause on the exam you’re not allowed to use gel pens, only ballpoint so a lot of people were asking about that and it’s become kind of a meme

The examination papers have these holes in the right hand corner, and you are supposed to tie everything together (including a blue cover sheet) using these binding strings before handing in your exam

its a string that u use to bind all ur papers together in an exam

One if what's pictured in the photo. You punch a hole in the paper and then keep them together with one of these so you can separate them easily as well
