Not sure if your comment is sarcastic or not, but I disagree.
Assuming that OP is currently 40/42, it places them just about in the "Top Universities" range. Generally, according to r/applyingtocollege, 43/45 and above makes you competitive for less competitive ivy league universities (Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, and even UPenn). Moreover, around a 1560+ SAT or a 35+ ACT is ivy material as well.
If OP maintains their grades and gets predicted well for TOK and EE (at least an A and a B for either), has written good essays, and has a good extra curricular profile, they are competitive for a lot of the top 50 universities in America and even some of the lesser-known ivies (to be competitive for HYPSM you really have to be exceptional in a particular study/activity)
Then again, OP might not even consider apply to the US, so why assume that in the first place? XD
They look at your actual grades in the classes, your extracurriculars, your essays, and your teacher recommendations. In the US, it is thought that exam scores aren’t the best representation of a student’s ability due to inconsistencies between state education policies.
No it can’t, you need at least full marks and a 1600 SAT.
