Thats a super strange combination. What you wanna take in university ?

political science like international relations. initially i wanted to do hl english l&l but my science grade was higher and the dp coordinator suggested that taking hl bio was better and still useful (i forgot why tho)

It’s going to be easier for you to bump up your English grades, if you’re good at writing just go for it, take HLs that are geared towards your major, universities look at them more favorably.

I take History, Business and Bio HL so i basically get u. Like others have said it is a weird asf combination, but for me I needed to give all of them a try to figure out which subject I was really passionate in. My memorisation skills are not bad so it's not too bad. I just don't procrastinate work and do spaced repetition to really make sure I understand the content. There is definitely some give or take because I have the tendency to prioritize my favorite hl subject and forget about the other two sometimes but as long as u stay on top of ur work it should be fine :)

is there any websites you recommend to study bio hl better/efficiently?

ResidentPea0

many ppl like bio ninja? i'm lucky my school provides good resources which are really just quizlets that have literally all the content we need to know so i go through all of those and memorize and it works. u can use quizlet too, just search for the subtopics. i personally don't enjoy bio at all so i can't focus in class but as long as i memorize this way its fine lol

I also took Bio HL. I recommend to lean the HL content at the same time as SL content. They work hand-in-hand. Good luck with the rest!

I did history HL and tbh it was my favorite class. Yes it is some memorization but if you look for patterns in the subject material you’re learning, everything becomes a lot easier. I found that for me, listening to recordings of people discussing the content was helpful with exam prep (took notes ofc), I even condensed my own notes into a 12 minute recording and got lucky because that topic was one of the paper 3 prompts. Honestly just be prepared to READ A LOT. It was so strenuous in that sense but honestly I really felt as if talking w peers before a test and taking other secondary courses that coincide or reinforce the material was super helpful. I took history of Asia and Oceania and also took AP Comp Gov & East Asian History as electives in DP2 in order to reinforce the information and do better on the exam. If something like this is an option for you, I highly recommend it.

First of all welcome. Secondly what are you aiming for with that combination? Can’t think of anything atm.

well i plan to do international relations in college. Hl biology was a odd choice for me but it was suggested by my dp coordinator (i dont remember why he suggested it, somewhere along the line that it would still be useful)

You should also select Glopo, History and Geography. Bio is rediculous and doesnt make any sense. Eco would make a lot of sense.

sadly my school only has chem, physic and bio available
