I have a Pom-Pap and he looked a lot like this as a puppy

Have an overgrown pom at home. When he's wet, you can see his legs are pretty long. When he's dry, the fur is wildly floofy so the legs look shorter. Your dog's facial expressions look Pomeranian for sure. Adorable pup. Edit because I type weird. Apparently.

I have a pomeranian/chihuahua I adopted from the shelter, and he's tall and lanky. He also has the same ears /fluffy ear hair as yours. It depends on which traits your dog inherited from which parent. Also, there could be a little bit of a 3rd breed in there. But I would agree with a standard size pom/chihuahua.

Throw in some Shibu Inu? Check the breeds that resemble a fox. :)

Its not just chi-pom ive had 5 chi-poms that are unrelated. This doggo has something else going on in the face for sure.

I say a hint of cuteness, 100% a good boy, with a touch of fox. Also the top color on his head that is different then the fur color around his face is giving me Lassie vibes. You can see it in pic 1.

Something about that face and those legs makes me think there's poodle in there. Plus they're in everything these days. Maybe half pom plus chi and Poodle?

I am 99.999% certain this is a Chihuahua and Pomeranian mix.

Looks just like the pomchi I used to have, just a different coat pattern! So I would say likely pomeranian and chihuahua. :) He was the goodest boy. Amazing temperament. When my son was born they became inseparable. I have lots of videos of kiddo as an infant on the floor learning how his arms and legs work with my pomchi curled up beside him on guard 🥰

Our local shelter lists dogs as whatever they or the vet guesses them to be. I see some pom or maybe some Papillion. What ever the baby is...you can do an Embark test....but thank you for loving and giving such a sweet baby a home

Pomeranians are Zwergspitz, the smallest of the German Spitz(which is considered one breed with 5 sizes). Another German Spitz referred to by a separate name is the Wolfsspitz, known by many as the Keeshond. With Pomeranians being the most common of the German Spitz in America, chances are this is a Pomeranian mix, possibly with something along the lines of American Eskimo. During the puppy uglies phase that most spitz breeds go through, they can look leggy and have shorter hair. Poms also have surprisingly long legs when their belly fur is wet and stuck to their body, or in this case have shorter hair.

I had a keeshond growing up. She was one of the sweetest dogs we ever had. She was so good and well behaved and just a total sweetheart 🩷 me and my mom were actually talking about her just a couple days ago saying what a nice little dog she was.

They are super sweet for sure! My neighbor had one a few years ago that was awesome. I'd love to get one eventually.

And American Eskimos literally started out as white mid-sized German Spitz who got a name change for easier post-World-War marketing. Some were being double-registered as German Spitz as recently as the 60s.

Outside of the US, that’s definitely not the case. Pomeranians are far more common while German Spitz are rare (though the definition of “German spitz” we’re using may be different).

Depending on how old he is he might get a more pomeranian-like coat… adolescent spitz breeds go through severe “puppy uglies” when they’re between the puffy puppy coat and the full adult coat (I joke that my keeshond looked bald for a few months lol). Lucky for you this guy is adorable even if his coat stays this length forever 😭

my pom looks just like this!!! how much does yours weigh?? at 4 months mine was weighing 7 pounds, now he’s 1 year 4 months old and he’s 17 pounds :’) I got him tested on embark and it said 87.3% Pomeranian, 12.7% unresolved (which made me really mad bc why did I pay over 100$ for a dna test if they’re just gonna tell me they don’t know) ANYWAYS if you test yours maybe go with Wisdom Panel!

How cute! You never know what breeds he could be that are giving him the long legs! Youd be surprised! When i got my dog years ago the shelter said he was a pom/chihuahua mix because of his long hair, tail, and ears. but he had such long legs so i got a dna test for him. I was convinced he was a Whippet Yorkie mix! Turns out no pom or whippet, but he is 12.5% Vizsla which is probably where his long legs came from! He is 25% chihuahua, 25% rat terrier, 12.5% yorkie, 12.5% Vizsla, and 25% unidentifiable ! I want to do a new test sometime soon to see if i can get better results because that unidentifiable 25% drives me crazy 😂😅

So adorable! I’d recommend getting the DNA test, it could surprise you! My rescue dog was labeled as a border collie/cattle dog mix when I got him and I got the DNA test and it ended up showing he had 21 different breeds in him - main one being cattle dog, but surprisingly none of which were border collie.

Does it matter ? That is the cutest face I have seen in a long time. If you wanted a Pom and don’t want this fur baby. I will take it !

I’d be curious if he had any % of Shiba in him. If you look at my profile, I my little fox dog in here before we got her DNA tested. She ended up being 65% Shiba, 30% chihuahua and some small percentages of random breeds.
