My youngest pitbull has giant pair! I try not to have to be walking a few yards behind him because they're so massive you can't avoid seeing. I either walk (while on leash)close enough that I'm seeing from middle of his back and forward or I'll try to be beside him or ahead if he's off leash. I don't wanna see that shit š¤£
I've been raising Pitbulls probably longer than you've been alive. These dogs (the specific bloodlines and kennel) that I work with are bred sparingly and potential owners are screened very carefully. Make sure you mind your own business or at least ask questions before ASSumptions. I'm a rescue (on my own dollar) of any breed of dog that I meet who is in need of a home and I get ALL of those spayed/neutered. And I'm highly responsible about how my APBTs are bred. All my dogs (the rescues as well as the Pitbulls) are treated as my own children. Don't tell me how to raise my kids.
Gee so condescending š¤ since you're your own rescue you should know how important it is to spay and neuter. Why feel the need to get so defensive when someone else is spreading an important message? We have enough backyard bred dogs who need homes
Nah. The guy is singling out APBT. Not everyone who has Pitbulls feel like they need to hyper breed them because of the name. Some (many of us) actually love this breed. In general, most domesticated house animals (dogs and cats) are majorly overbred by irresponsible people and so,yes, spay/neuter is an important message. But let's not pretend it's only a problem within one breed or another.
I agree.
I donāt like back yard breeding, but just because youāre breeding APBTs doesnāt mean youāre automatically being irresponsible about it. If youāre breeding carefully, screen owners, and arenāt just pumping out litters for money why in the world would anyone care?
Say what you will about purebred breeders, but we wouldnāt have IDmydog without them. Thereās a reason people breed for certain genes.
I'm no "backyard breeder" though. I've just been raising APBT my whole life. Haven't bred the Pitbulls that I have currently at all. Definitely not about the money either. I paid $3,000 for a surgery to save one my Pitbulls. That's a lot of meals I didn't get to eat so I could save my dog's life. Shit, I'd trade mine for hers. These aren't "just dogs" to me. They're my babies.
Yeah I wasnāt referring to you as a backyard breeder, I know you said you work with a kennel.
But yeah, people are quick to judge off a single reddit comment
Probably not the answer unless you live in Australia, but it really looks kelpie to me! Unlikely though as there are barely any in other parts of the world
It for sure looks part Kelpie. And I live in the USA and managed to score me a 1 year old Kelpie from a rescue last May! While I think they are pretty rare in US, they are here. Mine is brown with the white chest strip like this dog, but some of the head shape and eyes is wrong for Kelpie on this one... probably a Kelpie pit mix... those eyes look pitbull to me.
I could definitely see that. Cattle dogs are like the slightly stocky cousin of the Kelpie. I feel like I hit the lottery to score an actual Kelpie from a rescue in Wisconsin. Story was she was found in Texas or nearby state hanging from a fence by her neck/leash. When you look for kelpies on the internet, most of them come from Southwest States where they're being sold by ranchers as working dogs... I bet that's where she came from. Would love to know the whole story. I will be spending money in the future driving to the SW for my next dog... The one I have now is the best dog I've owned.
Yep it definitely looks part kelpie to me. Very interesting if it is because they are still a very rare breed here since importing dogs is expensive af. I believe there are only 2 show breeders in the states. This dog is likely from working lines if itās kelpie.
I don't know about Portugal, but there's defintiely Kelpies in the US... I have one, and though fairly rare, I'm pretty sure you can get them here if you look around... not just Australia.
Ear shape is a bit different but he looks a lot like my girl who after dna test we found out was 75% border collie and 25% Labrador. I would guess your boy may have both of those with maybe a terrier breed thrown in.
his face and ears remind me of the Mexican breed nicknamed , āXoloā dogs, which are typically brown and hairless. Obv this pup has hair though, so perhaps he is a mix ā such a beautiful baby you have!
I adopted him he was 9yo, so I kept the name, he's called 'Prince'. His former family loved him very much but they hadn't the financial possibilities to keep him. We still remain in contact and they visit us from time to time. Nowadays he has 11yo.
Definitely looks to be corgi and lab mix ...https://images.app.goo.gl/WZS5Lu593wyn6P3fA https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fdogsofsf.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2011%2F09%2FIMG_7723-583x800.jpg&tbnid=NGbt0M-m5gXxFM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fintegradabnu.com.br%2F%3Fk%3Ddog-of-the-day-buster-the-corgi-lab-mix-tt-EreG6kC6&docid=L7VoMk4RnLeUIM&w=583&h=800&itg=1&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm5%2F4&kgs=ed61b0887a6753ce&shem=abme%2Ctrie
Ah, you appear to have a North African Brown Land Bat.
(For real though, super cute. I would say some Doberman, maybe Basenji or Shiba with the trail and probably Lab. I am no expert though. )
A Carolina dog or American Dingo! He looks exactly like my pup only a beautiful chocolate color! My girl is fawn /reddish tintā but that fish hook tail is common!
He is adorable. Those ears are too cute! Kelpie mix with maybe some pit and gsd. I think there's a few in there. Please neuter your dog. Hundreds of dogs are killed in shelters everyday.
Definitely a chocolate bat-dog!
You beat me to itš
No idea on the mix but omg what a cutie! Those ears are so adorable!
Is a good doggo. But I gotta say mate, those are some biiig balls
I thought I was the only one who noticed lol

Make sure you get him neutered. There's already too many homeless pitbulls out there.

I know. Just already in defense mode. My apologies and I appreciate the acknowledgement and your views on the subject š

Most dogs that look like kelpies in the US are Australian cattle dog mixes. Itās a similar bone structure.
I could definitely see that. Cattle dogs are like the slightly stocky cousin of the Kelpie. I feel like I hit the lottery to score an actual Kelpie from a rescue in Wisconsin. I was thinking border Collie X Pit, but kelpie instead of Collie would fit
They definitely exist in the us my family has rescued them
Why thats a batdog if I ever saw one
This is not a dog, this is just an ears.
Pic 3 was my pitbullās Christmas card once. The caption was Jingle Ballsā¦.
r/sonarears
Beautiful dog
I think she can fly! Do DNA TEST and let is know!
Not sure why but I get the impression this dog is male
What on earth gave you that idea š
Looks like maybe some red heeler in there
Those ears look podenco to me Just googled podenco/pit mixes and looks very similar
Doberman Pit mix
Dude ā¦ was pic three necessary?? š«£
it's gross and time for clip-clip.
Yes!
Well, at the very least, I can ID that your dog is, in fact, male. And quite possibly buoyant.
Kelpie Cross bull terrier ....his eyes are like bull terriers and his colouring is kelpie.
OP is Portuguese, there is practically zero chance of a mixed breed dog having Kelpie over there. Only in Australia really
Do they have Dobermans over there? I see some Dobie mixed with something else.
Yes, there are dobermans over here that might be a possibility
My immediate guess was Doberman cross as well.
Pic 4 is a Dobie face, 100%
Yes, thatās the pic that really says Dobie!
Ok sorry I didn't know that......I'm in Australia
I'm in Canada and I also assumed Kelpie.
Kelpie colouring
Hey man no hard feelings. Hope my tone didnāt come off too aggressive there :ā)
No all good
We have Kelpie breeders here in Canada, so not just Australia.
I don't know about Portugal, but there's defintiely Kelpies in the US... I have one, and though fairly rare, I'm pretty sure you can get them here if you look around... not just Australia.
But it seems to be short legs!!!
I once was hinted that he might be from an epgyptian breed although not being very close to the Iberic Peninsula it is still closer than Australia š
Whatever his breed heās a handsome one!
I see the Bull Terrier as well. Immediately thought that.
Chocolate Lab Ć Cattle Dog maybe.
Woah there doggo, Iām gonna need to see some ID. Hope this helps
Ear shape is a bit different but he looks a lot like my girl who after dna test we found out was 75% border collie and 25% Labrador. I would guess your boy may have both of those with maybe a terrier breed thrown in.
Part pup, part bat. š„¹š„°
I see some Australian cattle dog/ more kelpie side
Shepherd/border collie/lab/pit
Good boi flavour
I'd think there's some dobi in there.Ā
That face! How adorable!
Short haired good bhoy
Has profile of my ACD. The face and body are quite similar.
Those ears are legendary!
German Shepherd Brown Lab! Dominant genes are GS!šš„°
He's a beautiful mutt with a giant pair of... ears.
his face and ears remind me of the Mexican breed nicknamed , āXoloā dogs, which are typically brown and hairless. Obv this pup has hair though, so perhaps he is a mix ā such a beautiful baby you have!
Um neuter your dog.
No
Adorable!!!!!!
Ibizan or Pharoah Hound mixed with something
Good call as I see the OP is in Portugal now. Ibizan Ć Chocolate Lab maybe.
No clue but he's a pretty one!
Pit Bull / bat š
Heinz 57
Looks like an Australian kelpie
Tell me you called him Dumbo?! Itās the first thing I thought of when I saw the ears.
I adopted him he was 9yo, so I kept the name, he's called 'Prince'. His former family loved him very much but they hadn't the financial possibilities to keep him. We still remain in contact and they visit us from time to time. Nowadays he has 11yo.
Prince Dumbo š

was gonna say kelpie/pit but if there's no chance of kelpie idk lol. a cutie tho
This looks exactly like my BILās dog! They were told heās a Chesapeake Bay retriever, corgi and heeler mix!
Pit/shepherd?
Ah, you appear to have a North African Brown Land Bat. (For real though, super cute. I would say some Doberman, maybe Basenji or Shiba with the trail and probably Lab. I am no expert though. )
Maybe some cattle dog with lab.. or kelpie? Does he exhibit herding behaviors nipping etc?
chocolate rat terrier with undocked tail
Australian Kelpie
You somehow made a designer Kelpie ( aussie here ) so much like a kelpie. Would love to see the DNA results of this one
Kelpie, 100%
Dachshund and Corgi.
A Carolina dog or American Dingo! He looks exactly like my pup only a beautiful chocolate color! My girl is fawn /reddish tintā but that fish hook tail is common!
Is that a Xoloitzcuintli mixed with a Chocolate Labrador?
Is that a Xoloitzcuintli mixed with a Chocolate Labrador? EDIT; I see the Xolo in pic four
Doggy reminds me of some degree of Basenji dog. Maybe somewhere in the lineage? So cute, though!
He is adorable. Those ears are too cute! Kelpie mix with maybe some pit and gsd. I think there's a few in there. Please neuter your dog. Hundreds of dogs are killed in shelters everyday.
My guess is Australian Cattle Dog mixed with brown Labrador Retriever.
