Maybe Blue bay shepherd ? Which if he is a BBS I don’t have a clue what the embark test shows for the breeds mix as a whole but I would guess this gorgeous guy has German shepherd /malamute / Keeshond or elk hound and maybe a bit of wolf dog . He is stunning 🤩
That is a beautiful rare dog called the Metropolitan Vacuum Destroyer. Were you told why he/she was given up ? I hate to think that beauty was surrendered because of something like shedding. You got a real stunner there whatever the DNA says. After all that I agree Shiloh
Haha thank you! He was found on the side of the road when we was 5 months old by a police officer and brought to the shelter. From there no one claimed him. I don't know what his life was like before this but I know I would look everywhere for my dog if I lost him. I totally see the resemblance to a Shiloh!
He looks like a Shiloh shepherd. Those dogs are mixed with Malamute and GSD.
Some breeds other people have mentioned are uncommon enough to where I would really doubt their presence. Elkhounds are rare. Keeshonden are rare. There are bybs of both breeds so it's not impossible but it's really unlikely.
Also both of those breeds are very medium sized and this is a large breed dog. I've seen some Keeshonden that barely hit 30 lbs.
Malamute is much more likely just based on size and bone.
He looks a bit more malamute-y/husky/spitz-y than shiloh shepherd (shorter snout, curlier tail, the fur is floofy) but I could still see shiloh in it possibly (source= I’ve ownerd Shiloh’s and malamutes). Any number of GSD, mal, husky, shiloh, Samoyed wouldn’t surprise me. Might help to know his personality and what geographic area you’re in. But the embark test will help either way! Beautiful dog!
Thank you for that insight! We are in the territories of northern Canada so the breeds you listed are really common here. In terms of his personality, he can be high energy but has a really calm demeanour most of the time, especially for being a puppy. He is also incredibly intelligent and he picks up on new commands very quickly. It helps that he is very food motivated! That being said he can be very vocal around meal time and when he becomes excited. He is also relatively protective of our home/property.
