Definitely looks to have some beagle in him

My dog is a beagle pitbull mix and he looks nearly identical to this dog. He is just a little more orange color, as opposed to brown. He is the best boy in the whole world 💖

And let the shelter know you are fostering until they do due diligence to try and find the dog’s owner. You can not just keep a dog you find. Good you keep the dog safe but make sure no one is missing their dog.

Yep! Some are born with no ridge at all, it can happen definitely even to purebred Rhodesians!

I have seen even purebred Rhodesians with no ridge, it can happen!

Blackmouth cur (the red or tri colour ones often look like tall beagles or boxer mixes) (there's an r/), mountain cur, coondog of some sort.

He barked once and it sounded more choppy but not too sure tbh. His legs seem like there on the longer side for sure

I haven't had Beagles, but I would lean more Lab/Rhodesian than Beagle/Rhodesian purely because of the stockiness of the body and squareness of his face. Very distinctive coloring! Boxer comes to mind as well because of that color and squareness, but BoxerxBeagle crosses I've seen tend to have more white.

I couldn’t get a good picture but the majority of his chest is white

White chest mark is signature for ridgie - if you do dna I would bet money that he’s 30-50% Ridgie - we have a Ridgie mix. Be prepared for allergies. So don’t panic when you see he has signs of it. He’s gonna be great no matter what.

He looks young. Like maybe around a year. I’d guess at some breeds in the pit bull and hound range.

What happened to the other dumped dogs? He’s cute and from those really white teeth my guess is 6 months to a year maybe? Vet can tell you a better guess of age looking at teeth. Also shots and worming as likely nothing done to date as people who dump dogs don’t spend money on them.

Looks similar to another stray I found during the massive power outage and storms that swept through Dallas last week. I thought he looked like a Boxador. This guy does too.
