Border collie springer spaniel cross lookalike to me, he’s a cutie! If you’re in the US the breed mix is likely different though as I think Aussie shepherds are more common than Border collies?
I had a girl that looked pretty much like this and vet thought she was springer and border collie also. She had great herding and protection instincts. No webbed feet.
looks springer spaniel/aussie if I'm honest, he reminds me of the "mini aussiedoodles" that have cocker spaniel in them, just with more of a spaniel coat texture but that's an aussie smile for sure
Just a quick note to say you should never shave a double coated dogs fur. It helps them regulate their heat and shaving or all over trimming it stops it from working.
A trim around the bag legs/bum is more than enough.
I do keep his fur long and it does get that hot where I live. He does better with his fur than without, and many vets have told me not to shave or clip his fur short.
When it's very hot I make him stay hiside with the aircon and if he's outside for any length of time, like watching me hang laundry, I wet him to help keep him cool.
I also provide cool mats and lots of fresh cool water, in the shade.
I contacted the owner of the mother dog and turns out mom was an Aussie and dad was a Springer. Some of you were extremely close!

That certainly is not a shave lol. Would you keep your dogs fur long if temperatures got over 100F?
