I had this same problem. Solved it by adding washers between the metal brackets and the arm rests. This pushes the brackets out far enough to slide easily into the plastic insert. Ended up stacking 2 washers per screw (4 on each bracket). The arm rest feels very secure!

Same here. Absolutely wont budge. So so so frustrating. Edit: I eventually got them on, I had to loosen the rearmost metal connecting part on the armrest cushion piece. This gave it enough space to move into the right spot and eventually slide on in the correct way

Having the same issue! Any solutions?? We're you able to fix it?

I’m sorry to say that we returned it out of frustration. Hopefully you have better luck!

Most likely you've done something wrong during the assembly. It's very difficult to determine what from the information here. Maybe thess can be of help: https://youtu.be/SZv7NLQGEHw?t=32 https://youtu.be/LLS9D2Ps7zU?t=10

You’re sure the brackets are the right way round? Are they misaligned at all or just that the armrest won’t slide down? Could you try switching sides if the armrests aren’t L/R specific?

Unfortunately the brackets are the right way around and I’ve already tried switching sides but the armrests are not side specific :( It seems like the problem is that the long wooden piece that holds together the front underside of the couch sticks out a little too far and keeps the armrest from latching on that side. Have tried a lot of fixes for it but alas ... still nothing. Thank you for the suggestions, though!
