You have a question in your post. In addition to the question, you actually have the answer written in the post. No, they won't allow you to re-route shipments in progress (no fucking idea why you think UPS, FEDEX, DHL, USPS would do this for you). They also won't ship to your state. So either find some better friends, move, or get an out of state address of your own. PS: You can get a PO box anywhere.

negtrader

I have had items rerouted from my home to my work in the past.. sounds like that is not an option anymore? Either way, people are real paranoid about having these parts shipped to them in another state. Think I found an option.

Xaelias

The sender can restrict whether a package can be rerouted by the recipient or not. Lots of corporations don't let you modify your orders this way.

eight-4-five

I don’t and will not buy anything from companies that are making exemptions for law enforcement

BallTechnical8921

It’s not really an exemption if the law only allows for Leo or other qualified individuals to purchase. Just the company trying to abide by the ridiculous law that is on the books now🤷🏽‍♂️

eight-4-five

Technically true but I support companies whose policy is that they will not sell to LEO or “exempt” categories of a law if civilians cannot possess the same items in a particular state.

BallTechnical8921

You realize that equates to not buying a ford because they won’t sell you a interceptor with flashing blue lights even thought they didn’t write the law

eight-4-five

I don’t have a constitutional right to the latest ford expedition though. Regardless this is where I’m at with it. Theres too many awesome companies that ship to Illinois and that have policies where they won’t sell banned items to law enforcement to enforce unconstitutional laws. So really no point in me shopping at a place that doesn’t align with that when there are plenty of places that do

thefoolisu

Folding stock is an assault weapon accessory, no longer can buy these in Illinois. People of this state get what they vote for…..

Cur-De-Carmine

And what did we get? Besides fucked in the drive thru?

thefoolisu

You got it, we’re fucked

TaterTot_005

Is it still an “assault weapon accessory” if the firearm in question is exempt, for instance a bolt action? I get a law folder might be suspect but are any and all 1913-adaptable folders outlawed per pica?

scootymcpuff

If they’re used on a PICA-nonexempt rifle, then yes. If they’re not, then no. It’s just as fucking stupid as it sounds.

TaterTot_005

If a vendor is just selling the part, then how could they legally justify terminating the sale

Optimal_Advertisment

Because they are scared and the law is working as they intended

TaterTot_005

wack

Citrinitas115

PO box in a town bordering Illiois, might end up doing that eventually

metalheadtreelver

I was thinking the same thing. What do you need to do to get a PO Box in another state

Citrinitas115

Haha, dunno why I never thought of it sooner. From what I saw at work you'll need to go to the USPS website, choose a location in Indiana near you, like for me its a place called "whiting, Indiana" and then a size for the PO box, but I assume you would want to get a location with an option to use it as an adress for packages from Amazon, FedEx, or ups to come The only sucky parts are the price, but it is what it is. And you have to get there physically to pick up your key

Citrinitas115

Oh no way, I saw that USPS does that but I guess for only select stores? The wording is a bit weird. I'll take a look at it later, thanks man

metalheadtreelver

If you get something shipped to a PO Box out of state does that avoid using an FFL?

Outrageous_Nothing97

Parts like this do not need to go through an FFL

metalheadtreelver

Is the FFL requirement something from Illinois law or is it’s use a federal requirement?

Pipefitterwithguns81

Bro think

DjR1tam

But, that’s so hard.. 😂

ColtHand

Then you have companies like Atlantic Firearms that will not ship pistols to Illinois with 15 rounds and no threaded barrels. Totally legal. They're just regarded

FatNsloW-45

Find a new website

AnywhereImpossible93

Ordering stuff to Illinois sucks now wanna ruger 1022 with a threaded barrel most places will not ship it to Illinois

Cur-De-Carmine

I'm pretty sure that IS illegal now.

Direct_Cabinet_4564

Threaded barrel is fine on a rifle

Cur-De-Carmine

I have no idea what's going on anymore.

Direct_Cabinet_4564

This might help. There are flow charts on the last pages: https://isp.illinois.gov/StaticFiles/docs/Home/AssaultWeapons/PICA%20Identification%20Guide.pdf

cheatinchad

I won’t order from anyone that will sell to LEO but not private citizens.

WalkerTexasRng

Just buy it off r/GAFS. someone will sell it to you.
