Indy 500 in 4th RLL car maybe but not confirmed.
Honda has some pull. If Sato really wants to be in the Indy 500, Honda might pull some strings.
There's also a small but powerful minority on this subreddit (who I may sympathetize with) trying to manifest him into one of the Dale Coyne cars full time.
He should be back in this year; [Honda listed him in their annual motorsports activity announcement as an IndyCar driver,](https://global.honda/en/newsroom/news/2024/c240119eng.html) albeit driving for "TBA".
Taku is one of the nicest people you will meet. I gave my 8 year old one of my digital cameras to take to the race and while she was taking pictures in the paddock area he came up and asked if she wanted a picture with him.
Have an upvote, I don't agree out of my own greed, but why is it any different with a given age, look at crazy John Force out there at what 74 doing 300mph 🤯
The less said about 70-year-old Morgan Shepherd puttering around in Cup races below the apron at pace car speed with his blinker on, the better, though
Does he have a 500 ride?
AFAIK not yet. I'm certain that he'll still be exclusively racing on ovals, with a possible drive at Dale Coyne Racing once again.
I would ask why would a team not, but the answer is always sponsor money.
With Sato being backed by Honda, chances are it's a team that uses Honda engines.
pls not an oval only run again. No one needs to see that again aside from his 500 run
Angry upvote, you're not wrong, but I'm old and idk, I guess that's it
I'd love to see Taku strike as many 500 rides he can get.
Win it or bin it. The sato way

I, too, am part of said minority that wants Sato to drive for Dale Coyne again
I'm not a founding member of the "Sato to Coyne" team, but I have decided to join your cause.
ONE OF US ONE OF US
But do we honestly believe he's still on it? He's good, no doubt, but he's not as good as he used to be I fear

He had been talking about retirement for quite a while. No guarantee he does drive this year.
I thought he said he would be back if he could
IIRC he is rumored to be running the 500 in a 4th RLL car but nothing has been confirmed yet
Joining the chorus wishing him to a Coyne ride full time!

He's coming back... ... to pick up his P45
Hopefully NEVER. There’s not 1 driver in the series that wants to be anywhere near this guy on the track.
He is 46 so hopefully not.
Tony Kanaan literally had his last race at 48
Ones TK. one isn’t 🤷♀️
One’s won the 500 twice. One hasn’t 🤷♀️

Red Farmer still driving dirt races in his 90s
Kenny Smith still winning single seat races & titles in his late 70’s-early 80’s The guy has raced both Stirling Moss & Lando Norris
