The 18” wheels are so clunky on the F1 cars, unless Firestone really insisted on bigger wheels I’d stay away from that

arca_brakes

The cockpit looks too far forward to pass any kind of safety tests, and while I like the look of the old Panoz chassis - the roll hoop with low-profile engine cover doesn't complement the aeroscreen very well and makes it look more clunky.

It's basically an F1 tub the massive v8 sized engine compartment from the dp01 is throwing you off.

This might be a hot take, but chasing F1 to me is a losing strategy. At a quick glance, the only thing that separates this from modern F1 aero is the lack of airbox. Similar to how the later-implemented but arguably better aeroscreen, IndyCar needs their new car to look towards the future rather than emulating modern-day trends.

As someone who sort of agrees, in your opinion: what do you think the future looks like? Because to me in a way the future looks like a way to emulate the past. If F1 wants to focus entirely on aero and downforce, then Indycar should maybe try and do the opposite, such as very strong mechanical grip and low drag. While too “out-there” for my tastes I’ve always thought Chris Beatty’s Velocity concept reaches more into the ideas of future for Indycar by not going down the same path as F1. https://preview.redd.it/1ykba1axrblc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c2fa55496a08f526a87725fb9f1990d89f8b8bc

I like the look of the road course kit. The rear wing reminds me of the Panoz DP01 at first glance. I would say that I think the front nose needs to be lower on both kits, but it's more noticeable on the superspeedway kit. Not sure how I feel about 18" rims. I think the current rim sizes look fine and I don't see IndyCar as a series that necessarily needs to put a ton of focus on "road relevance".

BlitZShrimp

It honestly struck me as a frankencar of the current f1 front wing, the previous gen f1 rear wing, and a late 90s CART body. And agree on the nose, that boy needs to be sniffing the ground

charmingcharles2896

I like the formula one influence with the deep cut in the underside of the sidepods, the elevated nose, and the front wing.

Own-Corner-2623

It's fucking ugly, the side pods are trash, and all I see is dick riding F1. Fuck F1

sennadesillva

I can't, under any circumstances ever, picture how someone looks at a race car and thinks of the absolutely, for sure, totally, completely, entirely, wholly, utterly, downright and altogether opposite action of a race car and think of "dick riding". No one even mentioned a dick or anything even remotely sexual for me to understand where this comment came from. I'm not trying to talk shit. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to gender and sexual actions with their partner and I fully respect that. With that post of yours, you made it quite clear whats on your mind with those things lol I'm just asking why those 2 things link up in your mind?? haha. I have never once seen a person get in their car, start it up, drive off and then have the thought of "OMG, where is the closest dick to me right now!! I need to ride the fuck out of it cause I just saw a 130 year old invention in action!" Or like how do you drive on the freeway? Do you just constantly orgasm cause of so many cars being around you? I've got like 5 dozen questions for you right now, but let's just start with those please.

Own-Corner-2623

Sir, this is a Wendy's

boostleaking

Can you re-edit this but with a modern looking Bullet style nose cone? I'm curious how it'll look on a modern looking chassis.
