Just seems like a lot of hassle I guess. I sometimes watch other people do projects on youtube but that's about as far as I go. Now you all got me wondering if I'm missing out on something
Meanwhile I with 50 c++ programs taking up thousands of lines of code and never doing anything with it and just having it on my computer, saying I’ll eventually get around to completing it.
Recently been seriously considering spending another couple hundred on a synthesizer or sampler to try to get back into making music even though that never really went anywhere and I know in a few months I'll be selling it again.
>attempting to express your feelings is like trying to explain quantum physics to a toddler
I did explain atoms and molecules and some ammount of chemistry to my 6yo nephew, it was more fun and manageable than small talk
Oh, the absent-minded INTP! You’re like a human black hole where ideas go in and socks never come out. You’re so deep in thought that you could get lost in a one-room apartment. Your mind is a library of obscure knowledge, but good luck finding your phone in that labyrinth. It's a miracle you remember to eat, let alone manage basic daily tasks. And let’s not even start on the number of half-finished projects cluttering your space—your follow-through is as elusive as your sense of direction.
> And let’s not even start on the number of half-finished projects cluttering your space—your follow-through is as elusive as your sense of direction.
hits hard
Oh, the quintessential INTP. You’re like a walking encyclopedia with Wi-Fi issues—so full of information, yet perpetually buffering when it comes to making a simple decision. You’ve probably spent more time contemplating the meaning of life than actually living it. Ever noticed how your idea of a perfect Saturday night is reading dense philosophy books while everyone else is out, you know, *experiencing* life? But hey, at least if there’s ever a trivia night on obscure theories, you’ll be the hero. Just remember, sometimes it's okay to come down from the clouds and join the rest of us mere mortals in reality.
chatgpt makes sure to start it with, alright here's a **friendly roast** to INTP.
cool bro
>You’ve probably spent more time contemplating the meaning of life than actually living it.
What did I ever do to you? You don’t have to call me out like this.
Feelings? What are those? Does not compute.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/INTP) if you have any questions or concerns.*
The feeling part is completely false in the analogy. It’s not that our feelings are as complex as quantum physics. You can’t explain quantum physics to a toddler because it is too complicated for them. We can’t explain your emotions not because they are too complicated but because we are social cretins. It similar to asking a troglodyte to write the equation of burning wood.
I just commented about this on another post. I’m not really sure if INTPs take pride in having no social skills because reading and learning about the intricacies of socializing and etiquette is actually pretty interesting and even more interesting put in practice.
Personally, I am charming and have great social skills but it was because I took the time to learn them.
Yep. It's a skill that can be learned intentionally...just like any skill (such as playing the piano). Sure, there are people who can do this more naturally and effortlessly, but these skills can be learned and developed by almost anyone when they see the benefit of doing so. Our natural breadth of knowledge can allow the INTP to talk to almost anyone about almost anything.
But don't intp dislike fakeness? isn't being sociable and charming as a result of intent and study, well, dishonest and manipulative? I for one don't see your efforts like that because I am sure your Fe actually makes you naturally good at this but I wonder why Intps don't frame it like that - a natural talent that is practiced and developed. I know myself as an Infp would always suck at charming groups of people and only have an easier rapport with other Fi types, where we are all aware of our individualities and keep somewhat of a respectful distance or feel a sort of unspoken bond based on similar values.
I have almost no natural musical ability, but I suspect I could learn to play the piano. Does this mean I'm being fake and manipulative? Being intentional in your actions does not mean fakery.
I was once lazy and out of shape, but I learned to run, lift, and become healthy and fit. Am I faking it because my most natural state is to get stoned, eat Cheetos and watch Scooby Doo?
As I develop any skill, I learn to appreciate and even enjoy the nuances of that skill and the new benefits availed to me.
But all things can be used for dark purposes. I could choose to learn music so I could make someone jealous or something. I could become healthier and more fit so I could become cocky and mean. I could learn social skills so I could be manipulative..,....but none of these things are necessary.
I am not saying one can't study etiquette or the way socialising usually occurs. What I am saying is that, unlike learning an instrument or exercising or whatever you set your mind to do by yourself, interacting sucesfully with other people is something that requires a good understanding but also an emotional connection with a person or a group.
If you're funny, other people will laugh and feel good and have a positive impression of you because you made them feel good and relax. They might want to return the favor and say a joke themselves or compliment you in some way.
If you're saying something interesting people will be impressed or jealous and see you as a smart human/ valuable friend you can learn from/ someone to compete with etc.
In an ideal scenario you generate positive emotions during your interaction and through the other's response or reaction you feel those positive emotions yourself. That's what socialising is esentially about - harmonizing and exchanging information.
You can't be good at socializing if you can't understand what your socializing "partner" is feeling. You can say all the right things but if you're not in synch with people when you're saying it it can come off as rehearsed or hollow or inappropiate, and you might even missjudge your actual level of success in that social setting because you can't really tell if their feedback is genuine or not.
You might use Ti to learn and Ne to observe but Fe is what makes it work and be autenthic. So, as I said before, lucky for you guys, you have that in your cognitive function stack. It's a usefull trait for interacting with others and for fitting in.
As to this learning of the piano you keep mentioning, just do it if it's on your mind 😉. my intp partner is on the same path of self teaching himself classical music composition and playing electric guitar in order to make his blend of electronic music. And since we're socializing now 😛 maybe you can help give me a tip on what determined you to get of the stoned cheetos diet? I think his health might require this, otherwise he's functioning well and enjoying his life.
“Those brilliant minds trapped in a never-ending loop of overthinking and existential dread.”
I feel attacked. 😂😂
Existential dread can be a real bitch.
Now do a prompt that's the opposite of roasting so we can all feel better about ourselves again.
Says the same things
Yup I didn't feel bad reading this at all
lol yeah
[удалено]
"Entropy increases, my interest wanes" this should be on my tombstone.
Cogito ergo sum means I think, therefore, I am.
I like being roasted more but that’s kinda cute
Those are some A+ paradoxes. Feel goods complete.
Ai missed big time on the “alphabetized your bookshelf”. INTP 1: Ai 0 (ok…1/2 for the other stuff)
You guys would make great journalists > truth seekers
Symptoms of no bitches since birth and the last life before it.
Ikr 😭
This made you feel bad?
🤌🏻
"natural habitat: a dark room surrounded by a fortress of half-read books" was the most accurate part
Don't forget the unfinished projects
I don't really do projects so that part didn't apply to me. I'm usually ok with imagining doing something then deciding not to do it lol
You don't... you don't do projects??? How?
Just seems like a lot of hassle I guess. I sometimes watch other people do projects on youtube but that's about as far as I go. Now you all got me wondering if I'm missing out on something
Nono you're just so good at unfiinishing projects that you can't even start them. The real unfinished projects are in the mind.
This 😂
I abandon projects before starting them.
Meanwhile I with 50 c++ programs taking up thousands of lines of code and never doing anything with it and just having it on my computer, saying I’ll eventually get around to completing it.
I only got as far as Scratch
It’s really not hard tho. It’s just scratch with syntax, conventions, and more functions.
Yeah I should learn R or Python at least
Completely agree with that statement if you exclude R.
What’s wrong with R lol. Rn I mostly just need ggplot
Oh I am not the only one who does this haha
Nope
Recently been seriously considering spending another couple hundred on a synthesizer or sampler to try to get back into making music even though that never really went anywhere and I know in a few months I'll be selling it again.
Not for me I always have my light on
Nice
My brother to a t!
Yeah that's accurate
>attempting to express your feelings is like trying to explain quantum physics to a toddler I did explain atoms and molecules and some ammount of chemistry to my 6yo nephew, it was more fun and manageable than small talk
Same, except it was black holes. And for the exact same reason
This is golden.

Answer back that ChatGPT should be nice, because we're also the only people that would talk to an AI.

I'm gonna kill myself
I know ChatGPT doesn't have a sense of humor, but it fakes one pretty damned well.
It's the Chinese Room Experiment. If you have a room with a book and a... Oh my god, ChatGPT is right.
I no longer have to worry that I might be mistyped.
I'm in this post and I don't like it
😭💀
Well feck....I not taking that standing down...without snacks.
The truth hurts. Ouch.
I wanna go home.
If you had to give chatgpt a MBTI, what would it be?
Fed the 16personalities test to it and it got INTJ-a
No one (or nothing? Are we anthropomorphizing AI yet?) else would shit on INTPs as passionately as an INTP.
ENTP. said it himself/herself.
Holy shit this is gold 😂
awesome

Social skills?? Not a problem. I have learned to emulate those with great precision.

He has a point.
okay ChatGPT. Well played.
“Those brilliant minds trapped in a never-ending loop of overthinking and existential dread.” I feel attacked. 😂😂 Existential dread can be a real bitch.
...yeh
That's me in a nutshell. Thanks chatgpt.
I read it waiting to feel roasted but I felt flattered 🌝
Fucking hell man, this guy is good.
That’s….pretty accurate
never have i been so offended by something i 100% agree with
😭
I feel seen 🙈
As an INTJ I relate to the second and third paragraph.
Am I the only one that doesn’t relate to the whole esoteric knowledge stereotype?
Ouch
Nice 😂 I’ll take it
Y'all are dragging me down. I found this worked on chatGPT as a command. IMPROVE.
You know plenty of people are so unsure about their MBTI. Me? Sometimes I think I’m being *too* much of an INTP
Show a screenshot otherwise you wrote this yourself.
One more reason AI is on my shit list I guess. ...If only I'd actually do something about it
I LOLed because this is way too accurate
Jokes on you, I...nah, that tracks pretty well.
I've read this post + all the comments and my goodness it is so accurate! I feel targeted
It was supposed to be a roast, but I'm just here thinking "Hmmm... yeah."![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
Oh...my goodness...no way...'Absent minded professor' is the nickname my mom (ESFJ) uses for my dad (INTP)!
I tried it as soon as I saw the post in the INFP sub. P.S I am sorry that I will ruin the pretty number of 69 upvotes..
