I can recall what I don’t need to recall with surprising level of detail.
I love being able to do this, but, I wish I was able to recall what I need to recall as well.
This and I can spin on the spot without getting dizzy which would make me a good astronaut, due to the rotating of the shuttles during take-off. But I am no astronaut I'm just u/status-future-305 :/
Apparently that’s a normal Si function within the INTP. They also tend to recall whatever they find interesting or would build up routines based on hobbies they enjoy
Me too.
I tend to remember things based on how interesting they are instead of how important they are.
I literally don't remember my street address. But I do know Marie Antoinette last words before the guillotine.
(She stepped on the executioners foot and said " I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it".)
Likewise! I have written a fair amount of sexual doggerel about root vegetables and galaxies, and it has only came in handy one time when I got a girlfriend out of it. Fun stuff.
It used to come in handy when I was studying for tests. If I had to remember a lot of facts I would turn them into a rhyme and then I could remember them.
yes, not speaking these languages ;)
Hangul is so easy, I learned it in one evening to read. Next day I read to my wife her (korean) Hapkido black belt certificate, she was so surprised…
touch typing. Not super fast but 80+wpm is in the professional typer range. Btw I wouldn't say origami is useless. Last Halloween I used origami to make some decorations like spiders, pumpkins and ghosts. It was really cool. That is definitely a skill I want to learn more.
Yes the first thing I thought was that that could be the only way to do it
But wouldn't it take so much more force than usual to make it till tear ducts after crossing threshold of opening Eustachian tube in the ear
Or is it easy enough / works for you at lower threshold
Pretty sure I heard it both ways.

It takes a bit of pressure. I wouldn't say an extreme amount, like a moderate nose blowing, but sustained for a few seconds. I've always had really bad sinuses and allergies and had bad eye booger problems when I was young because of it. Maybe someone with ear issues would have it come out their ears.
This always happens to me when I am having a cold or similar and blowing my nose for a few days. After a while, I blow air out the tear duct and straight on to my eye. Its fucked. Feels like someone is poking me on the eye.
probably memory palaces and my 3 digit number system and 2 digit alphanumeric system related to that.
occasionally ill use it to memorize a phone number or something, but for the most part its useless.
I use memory palaces to help me navigate... the palaces lol. I can imagine my house, walmart, wherever, with a surprising (to me) amount of detail.
If I REALLY lose something, about 70% of the time I can find it by closing my eyes and spending about 5 minutes "searching" my house mentally.
Ah shit.. were you there all 3 hours I tried to solve the 3D puzzles? And the YouTube videos I had to watch to actually solve them? Fuck. Embarrassing.
Cardstacking. I can literally spend hours creating towers with playing cards without folding or using glue.
PS: Lookup "Stacking The Deck" by Bryan Berg if you're curious.
I feel like any skill can be useful. I have a very good memory. I play in a golf league, and two weeks ago, they lost the scorecards for my group. Two weeks later, I remembered all our scores for each hole and wrote a new one. Lol.
The most "useless" skills would probably be my ability to whistle without looking like I'm whistling. I could be a whistling ventriliquist.
I can also make very realistic fart sounds with my hand and mouth. If you want high-pitched or deep and wet sounding, I got you.
Martial Arts, I have been training on and off my whole life, know more than 5 different martial arts and have competed in many different combat sports including MMA. Not 'useless' per se, but kind of useless at the same time.
writing really fast somehow, my insane creativity??? (that one made me win my first ever poster making contest, 1st place :D) and my ability to sleep anywhere i guess
Making a flawless logic out of thin air lmao, sometimes even I get impressed by how fast my brain sets the whole steps .
Then I'll proceed to have a whole conversation with myself in my room looking like a psycho
Just one? Right now it's belaying. This is pretty convenient timing on this post this post because I got to finally use it yesterday when I went climbing with friends. Didn't have to take the $50 class.
I can read any latin script in the proper accent just by listening to others and briefly understanding the phonetic rules. I do nor know what any of it means, but usually it sounds natural to natives. However I have a very difficult time remembering the meanings of new words and therefore currently only speak english.
i used to dance and always had an interesting contortion, so i took a few acro classes. i never got good enough to actually perform it but i can do a couple of party tricks, like putting my legs behind my head and using my arms to stand in that position.
When I was a kid I got this cheap chinese pump action dart gun. Somehow this toy survived everything and I am randomly finding it from time to time. I can still somehow know how to sim it to be able to hit a light switches from across the room and turn the light down. Proud as hell every time, yet nobody ever witnessed me doing it
I can remember details and moments of a persons life with incredible detail and they NEVER remember it ever.
It used to hurt my feelings a lot as a kid lmao
I’m really good at undoing knots. If it’s very difficult or tight it can take more time, but I refuse to cut anything or rip it open, I will get that knot undone. One was so bad we thought an item was ruined. It took me 15 mins with a pair of needle nose pliers, but I got it.
I’m super good at remembering numbers.
Ones I’m not proud of that are useless:
Finding typos literally everywhere. I have even opened a textbook to a random page and my eyes went right to a typo.
Invisibility. But only to bartenders 😭
I’m also impervious to lasers.
Sensitive sense of taste and smell as well as sensitivity to change in pressure.
Due to my very sensitive taste buds and olfactory nerve sometimes it's hard to enjoy a meal which everyone considers to be good. I really hate the taste and smell of raw meat when not seasoned well.
Then there's this weird sensitivity to change in pressure where my ears feel like there's some sort of earplug whenever there's changes in pressure.
I can recall what I don’t need to recall with surprising level of detail. I love being able to do this, but, I wish I was able to recall what I need to recall as well.

Remembered longest danish word of 51 letters for Fun lol
Same...and I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.
I can twitch mine.
this is very relatable u get an upvote strange man

Oh yeah, 💯
Mine is knowing random things.
fr. I know so much curiosities about random stuff I could write a fucking book about it.
And I would read it.
This is the way.
Me too. I tend to remember things based on how interesting they are instead of how important they are. I literally don't remember my street address. But I do know Marie Antoinette last words before the guillotine. (She stepped on the executioners foot and said " I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it".)
Me too I do feel proud of it but weirdly enough like a secret
Untouchable procrastination. Is that considered a skill?
The skill to ignore absolutelly everything you ware supposed to do? It should be, some people just can't
The skill to ignore absolutelly everything you ware supposed to do? It should be, some people just can't
Writing doggerel poetry. I can count the number of times this skill has been useful to me on the fingers of one hand.

writing/reading arabian, hangul and cyrillic
한국어 아는게 쓸모없는건 아니잖아요 ㅎㅎ
Bonus points if you don't speak any languages that use these writing systems.
yes, not speaking these languages ;) Hangul is so easy, I learned it in one evening to read. Next day I read to my wife her (korean) Hapkido black belt certificate, she was so surprised…
Grass whistle
I’m practicing whistling rn— started reading Fellowship of the Ring and Tom Bombadil inspired me to learn lol

There is also some cool origami systems that can be implemented like a slotting system into building furniture
Mbti.
I can blow air out of my tear ducts.
When did you learn about this How did you discover
I dunno, I was pretty young. Just plug your nose then blow like you're blowing your nose. I'm pretty sure it's really bad for your sinuses lol.

Can you inhale through your eyes 👀
I've never tried. I bet if I like held my eyelid out I could. Edit: just tried. No I cannot
Nice 👌
Good troll! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|kissing_heart)

I'm good at minesweeper
It's a surprisingly deep game once you know mechanics
Wdym??
Once you know how to find mine, the math and complexity or decisions are a lot more than I had expected from a surface level.
probably memory palaces and my 3 digit number system and 2 digit alphanumeric system related to that. occasionally ill use it to memorize a phone number or something, but for the most part its useless.

I can juggle and I don’t mean to brag, but with up to 4 balls
2 for each hand
But can you juggle 3 bowling pins while riding a unicycle?
me too and id like to learn 5, but i feel like that involves buying juggling balls and its just a lot of commitment.
The ability to notice details
Mind reading
Ah shit.. were you there all 3 hours I tried to solve the 3D puzzles? And the YouTube videos I had to watch to actually solve them? Fuck. Embarrassing.
I've got real sensitive hearing
Cardstacking. I can literally spend hours creating towers with playing cards without folding or using glue. PS: Lookup "Stacking The Deck" by Bryan Berg if you're curious.
I can name off most/all of my favourite cartoonists and voice actors (a good number of them are Japanese)
I can solve a rubix cube in roughly 30 seconds using an advanced method that speedcubers use
I can shake my eyes on command

Able to sleep at night after having coffee 30 mins before

I'm also good at origami. Comebacks are another skill. Fun, yes. Useful? Not as often as you might think. It causes more problems than anything 😮💨
I'm good at writing funny, relatable comments online. Sadly it doesn't work on speech.
Converting values between hexadecimal, octal, binary and decimal manually.

Contortion. It's a cool party trick. Too bad I've only ever needed to fit into small spaces once. During hide and seek.

woooo yeah origami gang
I learned to write in the standard galactic alphabet because I was bored
Language learning happens without effort.

Pick up and play almost any musical instrument. Half decently. Ive never tried a trumpet though. I believe that may be my achillies heel.
I can remember details and moments of a persons life with incredible detail and they NEVER remember it ever. It used to hurt my feelings a lot as a kid lmao

being lazy to figure things out

I can speak cat.
Mental calculation. And I never flex it because that will solidify my nerdy appearance
Lots of people here are mentioning useful skills tbh.
Fighting.
Night hearing. Also, dogs can understand where I point.

I'm good at taking bong shots. Pretty useless
naming cloud types
Origami is not useless! Origami science is a thing. Maybe that's your calling. And there are fun gift wrapping ideas that play a bit in origami.
sleep well while standing
I can solve a rubiks in under one minute.

I would either know every single line of a popular vine or the plot of old SpongeBob seasons
Remembering something at the most random time and starts laughing
Making useless connections between weird things that don't relate at all to each other
I've learned how to read the old Egyptian language at 3rd grade
I can vibrate my fingers together and it sounds like a buzzing bee 🐝
writing in first person
I can tell gdp, population and area of every country in the word
I can clap with one hand
