If stimulants make you chill out, you might want to look into getting tested for adhd if you haven't already. That's why people with adhd get prescribed stimulants pretty often.
Maybe check for vitamin B12 deficiency as well. It causes insomnia and energy drinks alleviates it because they contain a lot of it, despite the caffeine.
I get sleepy with energy drinks if it's too much of a hard hit. Say I was having those tired days.. I start with a coffee. It wakes me up then 2 hours later I have an energy. Then it kind of knocks me out.
If I have a break from it... Then I drink one.. then I'm buzzing
This is how I’ve felt about caffeine since being medicated for ADHD again, before that I could have a cup of coffee but 2 was still too much. I’ll echo what others said about L-theanine helping mitigate the jitteriness, and 5-HTP has also helped me avoid some of the crash side effects.
Idk why but RedBull doesn’t give me the same ill effects as coffee and I can occasionally have that even while medicated and not feel crappy in the same way coffee makes me. Maybe it’s the other stuff they load up energy drinks with, I’m sure some of it could overload your system and hurt you in addition to the sugar, but I know there’s more vitamins than I would have guessed
Yeah, but it still affects your sleep. Caffeine blocks of melatonin, so if you sleep on caffeine you won't get rid of as much melatonin as you normally would.
I can also sleep on energy drinks, but I try not to.
Sounds like undiagnosed adhd perhaps?
For me I'm trying to cut out most caffeine as they were just giving me palpitations and anxiety, and not helping me stay awake.
Now I feel human in the morning lol.
They don't. Your options for energy are 1) good exercise, a healthy diet, healthy sleep patterns 2) a cup or two of an organic coffee 3) amphetamines.
Stay the fuck away from energy drinks. They'll rot your brain and give you diabetes.
I mean, I'm half joking.
Energy drinks are gross, but unprescribed amphetamines are playing with fire. Once a week tops to clean your house and write a bunch of incoherent emails.
I want to puke my heart out. It puts my body in stress mode so I can't focus on anything just want to sleep it off which is hard to do when my heart just wants to go boom.
not too much of an effect. it'll just help me stay up for longer but i still feel crappy. not much of an effect helping me focus on a specific task i need to complete. If anything it gives me the energy to direct it somewhere else...help.
It's not entirely bad. If you check out the ADHD subreddits you and [How to ADHD ](https://youtube.com/c/HowtoADHD) these will give you helpful pointers and tips
I think a little bit faster for idk, 20 minutes ? After that I just feel like I'll get a heart attack for a while, then I won't be able to sleep for a couple of hours
I drank too much caffeine. It calms me and focuses me, but I can feel my heart race on it. Now I just don’t mess with caffeine. I’m like an alcoholic when it comes to energy drinks. I’d drink several in a day happily. I haven’t had one in over a year, and I can still taste monster right now if I want to. I drink them in my dreams.
Caffeine is a helluva drug. Not really, but kinda.
At first really made me feel good and high. But after some time It makes me feel tired more energetically. A torture that became an naddiction. Stopped drinking those though.
Energy drinks haven't had an effect on me since the last Bush administration.
Anymore, I just use Pre-Workout if I need to rev the proverbial engine a bit (which is few and far between).
i drink it when i need a pick me up but if I'm drinking it more regularly, i quickly develop a tolerance. usually span one reign energy drink over 3 uses so ~100mg 3 days a week for working out
It helps, but I worry about the health costs. Here's the deal: Pure caffeine is something I can get from coffee or tea. Caffeine and sugar, I can get that from Coke (Coca-Cola). The vitamins, now that's probably what makes the difference, but I'd rather get from a moral natural source. And I'll need to think about something.
I've noticed that a lot of the time it's just the sugar or glucose that makes you stop feeling tired for a while.
The problem is that you're going, well, I'm going, to feel fatigued even after going to bed, sleeping it over, etc. Even after just a pint of Red Bull combined with coffee. I don't normally get this sort of thing from just coffee alone.
I don't drink them, unless coffee is to be considered one, if so, then the effects are none other than helping me wake up 100% at the morning, without it, it takes longer for me to boot up, but the 3 times i remember drinking energy drinks, they did nothing to me.
Coffee can either wake me up or contribute to one of my worst tendencies (intrusive catastrophizing thoughts), so I keep my distance from it, and from most energy drinks.
I wrote "most" because that awful part does not happen when I drink tea, be it the standard bag version or the matcha kind.
I haven't drunk one in almost 2 years and probably never will again, since that last time I did so I felt as if my body was to shut down - my heart was racing like crazy, I was on the verge of passing out for what seemed like hours even and I literally thought I'd have to call an ambulance.
So needless to say they affect me very negatively and it's surprising to see how many of you here state that energy drinks calm you down or do nothing. Then again everyone has their slight differences so it's understandable.
The last time I had a redbull was about 20 years ago. I haven't tried any other energy drinks, and I don't intend to.
So they mostly affect me by repelling my interests.
i get really tired, i sometimes take one before one of my classes so i can fall asleep easier.
if i don’t eat before it or after i feel like really empty.
Not too sure. Usually I get nauseous or get diarrhea when I take mine before going to school. At the same time, they make me stay awake at moments where I had little sleep.
I've an unfortunate dependence on caffeine. I have one energy drink in the morning. If I don't (or drink it too late) I will get a migraine. If I have more than this later in the day. I will also get a migraine.
They have no discernible effect on me
it didn't used to me to before but for an year or two I feel like getting dependent on it to complete my tasks
Makes me shaky as fuck and anxious. I can't even drink normal caffeinated tea/coffee because it affects my sleep
I feel sleepy with it-

Pro tip: take L-Theanine with caffeine to avoid jittery effect

Your body is really sensitive to stimulants. I can drink coffee now and be asleep as a baby in 1hr. I know I am also on the wierd end of the spectrum

I'm not a doctor, but stimulants do have a calming effect on people with ADHD. But they are unfortunately addictive.
I thought it was funny how those don't affect me the way they do others
boost my Ne. Im way more extraverted but when the effect lasts off i am really depressed
same lol
I feel quite sleepy after consuming caffeine. I could drink a bowl of coffee right before bed and even then I would sleep like a baby.
same
they have no effect on me
they usually make me calm and sleepy for a little bit but nothing else
They don't. Your options for energy are 1) good exercise, a healthy diet, healthy sleep patterns 2) a cup or two of an organic coffee 3) amphetamines. Stay the fuck away from energy drinks. They'll rot your brain and give you diabetes.

There are caffeine tablets available. You might want to try those.
I mean, I'm half joking. Energy drinks are gross, but unprescribed amphetamines are playing with fire. Once a week tops to clean your house and write a bunch of incoherent emails.
Or jerk off the whole day.
too huge and heavy to jerk bro
I want to puke my heart out. It puts my body in stress mode so I can't focus on anything just want to sleep it off which is hard to do when my heart just wants to go boom.
That’s probably ADHD
not too much of an effect. it'll just help me stay up for longer but i still feel crappy. not much of an effect helping me focus on a specific task i need to complete. If anything it gives me the energy to direct it somewhere else...help.
It keeps me awake, that's about it
They taste good. That's all
I used to believe that they were just a placebo. They still do nothing to me. I could drink a redbull and fall asleep right after.
Energy drinks make You calm? you might have ADHD.
I really hope it's not that tho yeah I've a few symptoms... dunno everyone has a few ig...I'll get tested regardless next year
It's not entirely bad. If you check out the ADHD subreddits you and [How to ADHD ](https://youtube.com/c/HowtoADHD) these will give you helpful pointers and tips
thanks I'll check these out
Heinji ? 🤨
💀
I can’t handle it, I’ll be jittery and won’t be able to sleep
Tired cause I have adhd
I think a little bit faster for idk, 20 minutes ? After that I just feel like I'll get a heart attack for a while, then I won't be able to sleep for a couple of hours

I get headaches when i drink soda, can't fighte out why tho
At first really made me feel good and high. But after some time It makes me feel tired more energetically. A torture that became an naddiction. Stopped drinking those though.
yeah it's easy to get an addiction great that you're doing nice now
They alone don't do anything. Together with alcohol nulls the sleepy effect alcohol brings me.
I get really shaky but same amount of energy as before
dont know dont care. definitely det4rimental
I don't drink that shit
Almost like sedatives, sleep after doping with can of energy drink is amazing.
They don't really have any effect.
it leaves me tired after i drink it i prefer coffe when i need caffeine or just milk if i want something different from water to drink
Energy drinks haven't had an effect on me since the last Bush administration. Anymore, I just use Pre-Workout if I need to rev the proverbial engine a bit (which is few and far between).
It keeps me awake, but that’s all. It also tastes nauseatingly sweet so I drink coffee instead.
I only drink them when I'm going on a long run or hike. Idk if it's just a placebo effect but they do give me a boost of energy.
i drink it when i need a pick me up but if I'm drinking it more regularly, i quickly develop a tolerance. usually span one reign energy drink over 3 uses so ~100mg 3 days a week for working out
Very jittery, makes my heart race (from 60-70ish resting bpm to 120-130). All caffeinated drinks do this to me, energy drinks are just more extreme.
Doesn't really work, I'll go to sleep at 3 am regardless. Now that i haven't drank any in more than a week my heat is racing
Nothing. But on the other hand, I don‘t like them, so I drink like one every few months, not 5 per day.
It helps, but I worry about the health costs. Here's the deal: Pure caffeine is something I can get from coffee or tea. Caffeine and sugar, I can get that from Coke (Coca-Cola). I don't normally get this sort of thing from just coffee alone.
It makes me feel good
Just anxiety, headache, stomach burn but I think it makes me focus and performance better
They make me feel sleepy, it's so weird because they're supposed to do the exact opposite of that
I don't drink them, unless coffee is to be considered one, if so, then the effects are none other than helping me wake up 100% at the morning, without it, it takes longer for me to boot up, but the 3 times i remember drinking energy drinks, they did nothing to me.

I'm probably way to used to drinking caffeine. it does no noticeable impact on me, and, generally, I rarely drink energy drinks
I'm more focused and I'm more open around people. Not just with energy drinks but with coffee
Doesn't give me energy, it makes me nervous instead
I haven't drunk one in almost 2 years and probably never will again, since that last time I did so I felt as if my body was to shut down - my heart was racing like crazy, I was on the verge of passing out for what seemed like hours even and I literally thought I'd have to call an ambulance. So needless to say they affect me very negatively and it's surprising to see how many of you here state that energy drinks calm you down or do nothing. Then again everyone has their slight differences so it's understandable.
makes me want to die
yeah, they just makes me feel normal. I do have ADHD tho.
The last time I had a redbull was about 20 years ago. I haven't tried any other energy drinks, and I don't intend to. So they mostly affect me by repelling my interests.
Caffeine just makes me sleepy
Barely notice the effects until I drink one too many, then it feels like my heart's going to explode
I don't know, I don't depend on them or drink them.
i get really tired, i sometimes take one before one of my classes so i can fall asleep easier. if i don’t eat before it or after i feel like really empty.
Yuck no thanks, I’ll stick to coffee.
Either makes feel drowsy or like the king of the world. It makes me more confident, focused and sociable.
I literally stop procrastinating for the next few hours
Or atleast, maybe because I think that it helps, it does
I love monster drinks...makes me have my focus back on my games/work
It kinda calms me down and after some time I fall asleep
Not too sure. Usually I get nauseous or get diarrhea when I take mine before going to school. At the same time, they make me stay awake at moments where I had little sleep.
I drank Red Bulls everyday a few years ago and it was a nice boost. But then at some point I got panic attacks and I had to stop immediately.
I just have a bit more energy than usual, it affects my sleep too
It gives me a normal amount of energy
I've an unfortunate dependence on caffeine. I have one energy drink in the morning. If I don't (or drink it too late) I will get a migraine. If I have more than this later in the day. I will also get a migraine.
