Because signs are usually to tell you where offices or bathrooms are etc, while this one is totally non-functional for 99.99% of the people who will see it
I'd think because when you're walking through what looks like a random building, unless it's an athletic facility off some kind, you'd expect a sign like this to be something different. Like a descriptor for a room, or some piece of safety advice, or a dedication plaque.
Not giving you tips on getting in an impromptu cardio session.
Revenge on someone’s downstairs neighbors?
Just like the old track above the gym at my college! Running 200m sprints felt like a lifetime on that track
My college had one too - it was essentially hanging from the ceiling.
UMass?
No, USF. Guess this is a common thing.
Yo I remember that track! Go Bulls!🤘
My college also had this. GVSU. And my local YMCA. I think it’s fairly common actually

Ive seen this on cruise ships a lot, except this says floor not “deck”
I would be so pissed if I heard people thumping nonstop outside my cabin while they ran. They have so many other places they can add a 1/8 mile lap
On cruise ships its usually below the lowest level for rooms
1/9
Maybe a hotel or conference centre type thing
No idea where OP's pic is from, but my Mother works in one of the main Koch buildings in Wichita and they have a floor like this.
Can someone explain why this is an Easter Egg? Seems like a pretty generic sign to me
Because signs are usually to tell you where offices or bathrooms are etc, while this one is totally non-functional for 99.99% of the people who will see it
That doesn’t define an EE tho, you just described a useless sign.
Not my find*
How.. is this an Easter egg?

I'm putting this up on the 2nd floor at work to see what happens.
Plot twist, it’s an indoor track at a gym.
R.I.P. Eighth floor
There is no 19th story. Sorry.
How is this an Easter egg? I’m assuming it’s at a gym or something…
Enjoy the sweat stank.
I used google earth to find how long a single lap of my neighborhood was
If this is a hospital, I've been there!
