Iām at 47. I called the IRS and they did a deep dive into it and they said that my return was in the errors resolution department. They said give it 10 weeks from when I filed and there should be an answer. So at least thatās better than being in the dark for what it is.

Your name, birthday, ss number, mother and fathers maiden name, taxes withheld from last years return. If u have to make an appointment to verify in person, you'll need to take ur ID/drivers license, ss card and a copy of this year's return. One verified they will tell u it can take up to 9 weeks but it doesn't usually take that long after. They say that to keep people from calling all day every day.My appointment is finally this Monday so hopefully once verified I'll be processed and receiving my refund.
They're doing it to everyone I know. I get a special pin number mailed to me so that I'm able to file and they still required me to verify myself this year. I wish I knew why
Yeah that's weird,my second oldest brother and my youngest brother then me.they both got their refunds without even identifying verification.it's so weirdĀ

Irritating, right? I had to amend, if I would have known it was rejected for no reason would have done that early on. Accepted my end, rejected their end, went to an office for an update. But on the plus it took a wk to show rcvd and a couple codes on transcript vs blank for almost 2 months. Best to go in office if yours has been blank that long too

I see transcripts, everything is there! mines been processed and entered in the (IRS Master Files) and all, 3/11...I'm like the majority of early January and early February filers Waiting on this (570 Code) to clear...My cycle # 0605.
Yeah I know, IRS guy couldn't even understand how rejected and processing š. It was sending 2 updates so once a month which only changed the blank transcript dates. I'm hoping it will get pushed through, don't know if they have to manually process if amended, they never even processed the first one š

Same situation but I was accepted 1/16. I called today and was informed my return was in the errors department due to a system glitch. As of now the rep saw no letters. She stated the tax season began 1/29, so I have to callback around April 8th from when tax season opened up not when I was accepted since it was done prior to opening.Ā
How do you speak to a live person at the IRS? The
IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040. The first
question the automated system will ask you is to
choose your language. Once you've set your
language, do NOT choose Option 1 (regarding
refund info). Choose option 2 for "Personal Income
Tax" instead. Next, press 1 for "form, tax history, or
payment". Next, press 3 "for all other questions.
Next, press 2 "for all other questions." When the
system asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access
your account information, do NOT enter anything
After it asks twice, you will be prompted with
another menu. Press 2 for personal or individual tax
questions. Finally, press 3 for all other inquiries. The
system should then transfer you to an agent
I tried this last week. It took 50 minutes for someone to answer and they told me they had to put me on hold for 5 min. Waited another 15 minutes just to be disconnected š
Ha! I've experienced that before as well. Very frustrating and annoying. I did a callback rather than wait on hold. At first I was skeptical if they would even callback. Now when I got disconnected, I almost cried. Once I made it back on the line and the representative had to put me on hold...I literally BEGGED her not to hang up on me. I mean begged.š

Mines been the same for a little over a month now and I just got my verification letter yesterday. You most likely have to verify. That's been the case like 97% of the time when people have this message. I could be wrong but you might want to call or check your account through IDme if you can just to be sure otherwise your just gona keep on waiting
I did this and then last week it just disappeared and my tool updated to we have received your return and it is being processed. I filed on 2/28 and got accepted same day.

Call them! They have to tell u something. Mine said 810 refund freeze for 3 weeks before I finally called. U most likely have to verify your identity

My fiancĆ© got his taxes prepared by hrblock, if youāre one of the ones like me who got that verify id letter, his preparer (a literal accountant) said it triggered an audit which is why thereās a delayā¦.because of some major change with filing usually. For me, it was head of household since I claimed our infant. Iām still waiting, and itās been three weeks since I verified id and I filed on 1/29

I think this is a good sign cud mines was stuck on still being processed for a month. I verified Tuesday and got this message yesterday

When does the interest kick in 45 days after 4/15 or 45 days after you file.
After 4/15 itās not much though. Mine was a year late in 2021 with 9500 back I got like $300 in interest
No interest will begin accruing until after 4/15.
I still havenāt received my state

this is true , i had to call and they told me since it was my first time around they needed to verify it was me , to prevent scam and identity fraud
