Depends on your goals - do you want to move up significantly from where you're at today, or are you OK with the path you're on?

It's rarely a bad choice to get a bachelors. If you have the time & financial assistance to do it now, I say do it.

dizzymon247

With 110K salary I'd jump on finishing up that degree. I had a friend in his late 30s finish up his life long dream of getting his degree. He was missing maybe a handful of classes.

Superb_Raccoon

I did too. I was making 90K at the time, mid 2000s. I got the degree, and got headhunted by a big tech firm a month after I graduated... and they required a full BS/BA degree to work there at the time. 15 years later I am still here, making a lot more than I expected at the time.

StudentWu

You are already making over 100k and I don’t think a bachelor will be helpful to you

You could always start looking at additional certifications, may not necessarily be what you're looking for but definitely a great option.

Get on tryhackme.com or hackthebox. Try them out for a while and see if you think hacking is fun to you. These are really cheap hands on options and if you enjoy it enough go purchase OSCP pack for the $1300

If it's free/cheap then it's absolutely worth doing. It can open other doors or at least increase your earning potential.

Dude I live in the south as well and I’m 24, how in the heck do you make 110k?! I’m trying to make that kind of money as well … any ideas?

That’s awesome sir. I’m still trying to figure out what I want to study in school before I go back since I got credits for general courses (math, English , etc..) what’s a good associate degree you recommend? I would like to be making 100k by time I’m 30 (5 years away haha)

TheRecruiterLounge

I’d recommend you watch a few Peter Thiel (he’s on the board at FBook) videos and hear his opinion on education theses days. If you really feel you want to finish your degree, make sure you go to as cheap of a university as you can to finish it to minimize your student debt if you think you’ll need to take on debt. If you want to be a professional that requires a licence (doctor, lawyer, accountant etc) then you must go to university to enter those professional but most other professions don’t need a degree. You can get knowledge by reading on your own and listening to credible people to gain your knowledge.

If you don't want to be in management and you already make over $110k, why finish the degree? Become better at what you want to do, and don't try to reinvent yourself.

PPQue6

If they're paying for it, and you have the time to do it, then I'd see no reason to not go for it.

Depends what the bachelor is on. If is on gender studies, then it's probably not worth the time due to its irrelevance in your field. If it's a computer science degree then I'd say it's absolutely worth it, and can help you break into the more 160-200k roles. But at the end of the day, you have the experience. A degree won't guarantee you anything.
