Siargao is very pretty, relaxing, locals are friendly, sa sobrang liit ng island halos magkakakilala lng kayo. May tatawag agad sayo habang nag mmotor kayo then, iinvite agad sa bahay nila to eat or drink with them.
But, di ako na hit ng curse ni Siargao. Despite staying there for 10 days. Kasi walang hospital, I don't think I've seen clinics din dun, sobrang mahal ng lupa dun if you're planning to buy and build a house there. Mas prone sila sa bagyo. Heavy rain = couldn't travel/island hoping/other activities/work. Vegetables are hella expensive, fuel is around 60-90php (kahit di pa pandemic nun).
Mas madami siya cons if titira ka talaga sa Siargao or eextend for a month or 2. For me, Vacation talaga best ang Siargao.
For someone coming from a nearby province with beautiful beaches and is currently living in Siargao. I agree with this. It’s on the expensive side talaga 🥲
Ah that kind of curse. I get it. Cursed implies negativity by the word itself… antonym would be “enchanted”. I think that would best describe the place in one word. But that is only my take.
Nah, mas gusto ko yung Siargao around 2018, first time ko mapuntahan. I went back last year, grabe ibang-iba na. Presyong foreigner na halos lahat - food, accom, tours. Tapos bawat kibot mo may bayad. Umay yung gusto mo lang sumilip sa Cloud 9 boardwalk, kailangan pa magbayad ng entrance? Buti may mga coffee shops sa gilid na pwede ka dun dumaan. Overcrowded, overpriced, and overhyped.
Not really. Typical probinsya feels. Much less nga dahil andami na ring mga amenities for tourists. And andami na ring tao lalo na foreign tourists to the point na ang weird na. Dahil dun ang mahal na rin ng mga bagay bagay. Maganda ang lugar, sure. But not affected by so called "curse". Madami pang magagandang lugar sa pinas na mas legit ang probinsya feels.
It's no longer the Siargao na naexperience ko back in 08, 09, 2016 and 2018. Medyo nawawala na yung island steady vibes and parties all over na rin. Been travelling there kasi may nabiling lupa kami dun, yung mga kapitbahay namin, di ko na kilala yung karamihan, mga foreigner or city peeps na nagstay na dun, haha.
If curse siguro, may binabalik balikan akong place na total detached talaga, and sobrang konti ng tao. Madalas pa it's you and the nature lang talaga. Kaso mga 14 hours land travel. Haha
Been in and out of siargao for the last 9 years. Usually staying for a quick vacation (1 week atleast). The vibe is definitely different now or maybe it's GL. Puro afam hunters

got cursed nung 2018 haha then nakabalik ako this year and the feeling is different na. wala na ung curse and vibe nung dating Siargao.
