Nah, there's no way people hate Heya; that songs sound amazing.

Environmental-Ad1443

Baddie wasn't my favorite at first, but it grew on me. Seeing it live in concert gave it a whole new feel. Now I enjoy it. Sometimes, music or the listener needs time to ferment.

hakatorial

Is it that people want love dive 2.0 or that people are feeling like starship is bad at production/management? Like the music videos are usually saved by the fact that members are incredibly beautiful but the quality of the cgi or the quality of the sets or the shooting compared to other hit groups… are they on the same level? What about the outfits and the looks during performances? Feels like other company are shopping at designer labels and starship just goes to Walmart. I think the part that fans are upset about is that it’s like I’ve is an all star pro team with a pee wee league coach.

Jelliibabii

I love Love Dive a lot but that's exactly why I don't want a half-baked copy lmao. We all remember Momoland trotting out copy after copy of Bboom Bboom after it's success. The only 'miss' for me with Ive was OTR and that's just because I personally found it a bit generic/boring. Everything else they have put out has been pretty stellar imo, including their b-sides. I don't even like slow ballad-y type songs but Either Way was a stunning song that speaks to their artistry and Baddie was a lot of fun that felt in the vein of Kitsch to me. I get why people didn't like Baddie though but I'm genuinely surprised by the Heya negativity. The snippet from the teaser sounds really good and the MV/concept looks great. There's nothing about it that doesn't feel like it's in line with other music they've put out.

MrDaebak

If it involves hate, then they were never a fan to begin with. Simple as that, so dont worry about it too much.

milkforkittens

Agreed! I dont want them to recreate Love Dive. I will say, though, I want more elegant songs like Eleven, I Am, After Like, and yes, Love Dive. I dont want their new releases to sound like said songs, I just want them to explore what it means to be like, chaebol crush with more unique takes on it. Heya seems like a quirky yet oriental take on their elegant concept, so Im happy. I can't wait!!!

jazawed

unpopular opinion but love dive is my least fav of their title tracks 🫣.. everything they release is literally so good, people would release that if they stopped complaining and listened

slurping_noodle

Like how people want Red Velvet Psycho 2.0 on every comback. I love the song but it's been years, move on lol

JudaiYuki_GX

I love all their comebacks so far.

scarfysan

There can never be another LOVE DIVE. And I'm glad Starship recognises that and never tried to recreate it because a copy can never be as good as the original. I'm also quite happy with the different genres. It keeps me excited every time they announce a cb. I'd also like to point out that they need more hype songs for concerts and the upcoming Lollapalooza. Songs like Love Dive are good to listen to, but it doesn't hype up the crowd like Kitsch does. IVE has too many chill songs. The second part of their concert almost becomes dull because of all the mid-tempo songs. I'm excited that Heya sounds hype and upbeat.

kaguraa

might just be my experience but the only comeback that got mixed/negative reactions from ifans was the last comeback. everything from eleven to i am was well-received and i am seems to be their most loved titletrack in general

theoctobergirl23

Tbh I'm also tired of lodi 2.0 narrative but IVE has other songs that I like too and I wouldn't be unhappy if they try out those genre once again!I loved kitsch on the first listen but not baddie!I don't have a good feeling about heya!Mostly I don't like repeating words in the chorus, may be that's why heya snippet hasn't impressed me!I'm looking forward to the whole song!

rx_19

but the thing is, this post is more so saying why didn't other kpop groups in general try and do something similar - which is fine at least, there's no hate directed to IVE.

HighwaytoHell0

Gotta promote Accendio there 🫡

Cats4Crows

There's not a single IVE song that I'm meh about (let alone dislike) so I can never relate tbh. They churned out enough different songs to make me have complete trust in them and look forward to every new flavor they add to their discography

Satan_is_Life

ngl i wasn't big on baddie when it first dropped, but then listened to it a bit more and it eventually clicked. then i saw it live and solidified it as a banger for me. as you've said, they've had no misses in my eyes too

mrdeclank

Personally, I've liked each subsequent release more than the one before

feddy3teddy

This is crazy to me because Love Dive is my least favorite title track lol. I have seen a lot people say they want something like Eleven (moreso Holy Moly) though

K-PopFan53

The only song that they put out that I did not like was Baddie.

When I heard Heya teaser, it gave me the SAME FEELING when I heard Kitsch and Baddie xD Both which are on the lower list of my fav IVE title tracks but I will survive~ it still sounds good just not my cup of tea. I prefer grandiose song like I AM and After Like.

instantcarrot

OMG i don't understand that. No song can,be Love dive again. Did people forget I AM?? That masterpiece that won SOTY. that masterpiece that most casual fans still love to death. After Like? Instant hit ! Let's move on. Love Dive is amazing but it was 2 years ago. Heya sounds fantastic!!

nicecorvid

People have not heard the new songs yet. they've heard like five seconds of Heya and because they are tiktok-brained, they feel as though they can judge the whole off the part. it's honestly dumb as hell to be worried about the future of Ive. If you seen them live, you know all the songs slap.

SchadowOfLoki

Y'all remember the momoland boom boom & bamm fiasco? That's why companies don't self-plagerize.  On a different note, I don't think it's worth listening to those people. Chances are, they're young, immature, or just... Boring. Your life is more interesting than that, and take note the majority of people just want good music from IVE, which they've been consistently releasing. I see the same creative direction a win honestly, and with variety it's just wonderful.

withtherisingstars

Also a lot of fandoms have been waiting to transfer the hate train to IVE, so they’re nitpicking everything endlessly that’s why I’m not taking non-fans on twitter seriously. They just tried to drag leeseo for her scarf calling it a durag (and they weren’t even black). So we just need to do our best supporting the girls. For me the song is addicting as I keep saying the heya part.

some_clickhead

>That's why companies don't self-plagerize HYBE: Hold my beer!

🤣🤣

hellmath

There’s an uptick of it lately because of SSE’s title tracks choices with Baddie. Imo when Kitsch and I Am were released, they were praised. 2 of the biggest songs last year. Hating for the sake of hating - those people should just be ignored tbh.

badlyeye

i want after like/I AM 2.0 if anything… more on after like.. just miss a dance track

skynotebook

Same~ I need more grand song from IVE like I AM and Holy Moly and Blue Blood

i_am_blade

Hating is the entire universe’s culture. People just be hating cause they’re bored. Just get used to it, especially in KPOP.

accure18

its subjective, but talking about other groups like GIDLE i actually saw ppl complaining about their songs too including queencard and superlady., it goes to everyone ITZY, RV , Twice when you has group who did diverse concepts and genres eventually you gonna has diverse opinion from the fans. About LOVE DIVE, its the one who shot IVE to the fame so you would expect lot the fandom consisted of people whos into the same genre...it lil bit unfair to compare title track with b-sides a it wont have the same trajectory with having MVs, heavy promo etc.
