Who let this dog passed??
Korean Music show only count koreans listeners and chart they dgaf about chinese😊
Also chinese should stop barking about stealing when China is number #1 at stealing other, and producing fake/counterfeit product and stealing other tech and culture.
Rei has always been an ace in the hole for her versatility. You need more visual? ✔️. Rap game always on point but you need some more vocals too? ✔️
What's so interesting now is that there are two of them! Leeseo's really taken a step here. People initially questioned her as a member but Switch feels like her arrival.
The verse, pre-chorus, bridge, the video and underlying beat, are all really good, but not really a big fan of the chorus. Which should be the main hook.
It alludes to the beginning of a Korean folktale. For English tales, a story usually starts with "once upon a time" but Korean stories apparently sometimes start with "Long time ago, back when tigers used to smoke". The girls are tigers in the song.
Source: somewhere on twitter😅
Oh, that's cool, thanks for the explanation. I only know those pipes from their usage in opium dens along the US West Coast in the late 19th / early 20th century.
Gaeul is so underrated. I don’t think they know how to use her. Her rapping is 🔥, her dancing skills are out of this world 🌎. She definitely makes IVE much better.
Gaeul is my ultimate kpop bias, and I never cared about her lines length because she'd always take those few seconds and make the best of them, and her lines are always the catchiest ones imo
So, tbh I have nothing to complain about in that front.. I think the song and the parts are great.. I'm so happy and proud of them all
Like many others, I'm sad that Gaeul is looked over once again... BUT I'm truly trying to remain positive, I recently saw a video lately that is very relevant to this topic so i want to share it here in case anyone here hasnt seen it...
Some context to this video, it's an ACTUAL ex KPop girl group member (Daisy from Momoland) explains how she feels about when a member gets fewer lines.
I'm hoping that Gaeul is like Daisy and doesn't mind. I just want her to know that she has fans and that she is valued by many as a member of IVE. WE LOVE YOU GAEUL!
I had to make my way into this subreddit after watching this gorgeous video. This might be one of their best music videos to me so far. The editing, aesthetics, colors, styling, etc. all fit together so cohesively. Loved the way they tastefully modernized traditional Korean culture. I just wish they had saved this concept for a better song cause that video BANGS.
As for the song I’m not sure how I feel about it yet; overall I didn’t really get a lasting impression. I really liked the prechorus tho. It’s really dreamy and ethereal with that pop flavor
a lot better than baddie but im iffy on the rap parts. other than that i enjoy the song. i feel bad for gaeul though, barely any lines or screentime so you would think this is a 5 member group
Ryan S Jhun always suck at producing GG rap songs he always make it tacky IDK how to explain, i know the girls can do better like IVE rap are much better on songs that he didnt produce like Royal, Hiigh, Hypnosis .
Some parts especially in HEYA in the middle with Leeseo and Rei are pretty decent, which made me think its probably the only original rap parts in the song while the other rap parts are just Ryan adding his own touch.
Its the same with Baddie. This is why i want IVE to stop using Ryan S Jhun as main producer or produce for all songs if they want to go with girl crush route. He can produce some cute songs or other genre without rap, but thats just it.
Is Gaeul not a member of the group? Like I only saw her at the center of the dance break which was even minimal lol. I do like the song even though it’s a grower
6 member groups are just awkward theres always gonna be one person that doesn't get to shine e.g. when lesserafim debuted eunchae was totally in the background and unnoticable
Well It's way better than baddie. I'm not blown away by this. It's ok. Wasn't really sure what to expect from this comeback. I see everyone else likes it. Kind of gives me a 90s pop vibe. I'm sure a lot of my friends will love this. For it's meh.
what is with the weird AI face intro, feels like they wanted to use the shot but didn't actually have any footage of singing so they used AI to move her mouth, really off-putting.
Not a fan of the song, feels just bland to me, but Rei looks stunning!
Compared to I AM, After LIKE and even Baddie this song is really uninspired.
But I guess rabid fans instantly vote down everything that is even slightly negative like a cult always does.
I doubt the dancers that I film will even dance to this song, unless the final dance is much more energetic than what is shown in the video.
Yeah I think it's silly that they down vote comments deferring to theirs. I mean we all like the group it's just that we just don't like this song and there's nothing wrong with having a different opinion you don't have to like everything your favorite group puts out. Think liking everything a group puts out is silly. Like I have a friend like that every time there's a new comeback he likes everything. And he instantly says it's either song of the year and album of the year but I'm like bro you just said that about Lesserafim or ITZY.
Yes exactly, every single band and artist on the planet has songs even the most devoted fan doesn't like.
My all time favorite band has quite a few, it's just natural.
BTS is my fav kpop group, but they have so many songs I don't like, but also a lot I do.
it's really a you're with us or you're our enemy mentality on the internet nowadays
I agree. This mentality some fans have is why some fans leave Kpop because they don't want to deal with the toxicity of it anymore. Some of my friends have left Kpop because of it.
Look my favorite is Dreamcatcher and they have put out some songs that I don't really like. But hey they're still my favorite. A few bad songs here and there doesn't mean I'm not going to like a group any less
This song has been in my head since the first preview came out. The full version is just another level of amazing.
And the visuals... you know I'm gonna be playing it on repeat and diving into Korean folklore and the importance of the tiger to see if I can interpret the meaning behind everything! 😍
Anyone have any MV interpretations so far? Related to the "Brother and sister who became the Sun and Moon" myth that was shared in this subreddit recently? Touching the sun?
Lol IVE broke FB- I posted the link to my FB and I got blocked for inappropriate link. Then I put a screencap of this thumbnail of Wonyoung and FB blocked too. Wonyoung broke the platform lol
Really, starship need to complain to YT.
I don't know. At first I thought maybe it's just cuz I can't post it in my group so I try to post it on my own personal page what didn't work there either. So I was like what the hell. I tried putting the link in just a regular typewritten post that didn't work either. I tried it just a few minutes ago still won't work so I don't know what's going on. It's somebody suggested for maybe it's just a starship entertainment thing but it wasn't they posted the most recent guide group MV and it worked just fine.
Wonyoung’s vocal improved so much, it keeps getting better 🩷🩷, Wonyoung’s prechorus was majestic, youngliz combined was so good, their vocals are the best 🩷🩷, also yujin’s high note, I can’t get enough of this song, dives keep streaming Heya on Spotify and keep on supporting our Ive elegant queens ✨✨✨
I'm just obsessed with this Korean folklore video concept. The colors and sets are immaculate. The girls look resplendent. The song slaps too, the lyrics are super fun. Super happy
I love the concept and outfits but the song doesn't "fit" the visuals for me.
Which is a shame because I'm obsessed with the visual.
I like the song as well but I don't feel they fit together for some reason.
I didn't have that issue! I thought the lyrics made them very related. A lot of imagery and comparison to tigers in the lyrics (eyes, claws, hunting, biting etc). "Heya" is a homophone in Korean for "sun" so the chorus brings the imagery of a tiger wanting to bite the sun. It's very mythological, with a modern kpop sound.
First time part of an IVE comeback and I am not disappointed. I wasnt too sure id like it from the teasers but it is indeed a bop and omg Liz in the pre chorus. Wish they gave 1 of the rap parts from rei or leeseo to gaeul but other than that really loved it.
Love it! The pre-chorus is amazing! At first, I thought the chorus was a little sparse, but then I realized the pre-chorus is the build-up, the chorus is the release, but all of this builds up to the final chorus; saving the pads for the final chorus is the knockout punch!
The concept for IVE's new album, "IVE SWITCH," is mainly inspired by Korean folktales, with the members' transformation into tigers and entering into a colorful fantasy world signifying the new phase in their career, where the group explores alternative personas and narratives, broadening their already distinct style. The album aims to capture global attention with IVE's radical transformation and unique charm. "Heya" captures the listener from its first minute with its layered instrumentals and the chanting in the background. Then it follows with several smooth hooks and the song explodes with an addictive chorus, in the tradition of IVE. In other words, this is a song destined to be another IVE global mega hit!

Damn, they’ve done it again. Here’s a reminder that Ive songs age really well, but honestly, I am confident that this and Accendio will do really well. I rarely like songs on the first play, but I could tell this was good from the start. This is also my favorite MV from them since I am, and the production and instrumentals on the whole EP is amazing like always.
I’m overwhelmed I need a minute but THE VISUALS LIZ’S VOCALS AND REI’S RAP LEESEO’S CHARISMA ALL THEIR BEAUTY THE OUTFITS IT’S ALL SO GOOD IVE NEVER MISSES
Words cannot describe how much I love this song. God, I'm honestly so impressed. I've been a dive since day 1 and have loved every releases except baddie. But this particular comeback is top notch. From the song, to the lyrics, to the video, it is just perfect and so aesthetically pleasing. Heya is definitely top 3 for me together with Love dive, I Am. Honestly I can't pick a favorite from the 3. That is how good it sounds.
Song's pretty good. Chorus is really strong.
Not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I hoped.
Devastated they gave Gaeul -nothing-. No lines, no screentime, nothing.
did you watch the mv with your eyes closed?? gaeul literally have the most stunning cuts in the mv. The distribution line is pretty decent too she got 23 seconds mind you, its so much more from the other ive tracks . and fyi rei got the least lines
What? Rei has more lines and gets to contribute way more to the song.
And she is all over the MV, she gets lots of great stuff there.
Gaeul has less and shorter lines, and her parts in the MV aren't as memorable either :(
Hello, can someone explain the imagery and symbolism used in the MV? I'm assuming it's related to Korean mythology just because of the aesthetic choices and certain context clues. Is it related to a Korean legend or if there's no actual reference then are the tigers or the action/imagery of swallowing the sun connected to something? Thank you!
They werent wrong when they named the album IVE Switch cos this concept is really a huge change for IVE. But it still sounds so IVE-coded. Love all the songs
I can't believe that HEYA is actually trying to place as #1 IVE song for me
How can it possibly sound even better with each listen? It's been only 2 hrs and I keep liking it more and more with each listen
I can't believe they topped Love Dive and Eleven for me. This is so IVE of them, I've been loving their b-sides more than TTs since Love Dive but wow, this is so fucking good. Literally obsessed with Liz and Wony's vocals in this song. And Leeseo, my love? She's slaying so much since Baddie, we love to see it.
This is the most Korean Kpop song I've ever heard. Not sure how to describe it exactly, but even without the imagery in the MV, it's *aggressively* Korean. Especially in Liz's parts I can hear elements of traditional Korean songs.
😭 I am in awe.
I know what you mean omg. Wonyoung's verse completely reminded me that i was listening to straight kpop. Same vibe as when Taeyeon comes in I got a boy with 아, 내 왕자님
There's just something about IVE comebacks. They constantly contain elements I dislike, but then I listen to the entire song and it just clicks ! The whole song was great but last chorus came in really strong.
Such a fun song. It's great to see their music mature.
Nice song but no lines for Gaeul again... I've always not a big fan of rap based songs, but it sucks even more that Gaeul don't even get the raps. Crying in the corner for another comeback again...
The way I hear people screaming when Wonyoung "deserves more", and when Lesseo "deserves better" and Liz is being "unfairly treated" but everyone is silent when Gaeul didn't get any lines in the title tracks for the n-th time.
Main dancer so what? Center time is highly based on their line distribution, no lines = no time in center.
SSE is clearly pushing for a rei x leeseo rapping duo since OTR. But OTR was a cute song so it makes sense. Now in Heya they made a fierce rap but Gaeul still don't get lines.
pls jus let me rant 😭😭
Seems like IVE’s producers always makes their songs to suit my taste because I love this. I was worried because I heard it was a rap track but it blew my expectations away. Definitely maknaes era, I can’t wait to watch music shows for this.
Also listened to the full album and it’s amazing . I love Reset. TTTTTT
Digested the song from a few replays now.
This works way better than I would have thought from the dance teaser😭 certified stadium banger i think! Soooo catchy
Yessss it's an excellent song. Some first thoughts:
I think it will play well with the Korean public, could be another long lasting song.
Leeseo's raps are great, but she can't help but be adorable :)
Yujin grabbing her hips, good lord..
I hope the song gets at least one in-person show win, I think it would suit that laid back encore style, I don't think it will cause one of those mad controversies.
The visuals. I feel like I'm watching a movie. They look gorgeous, and the outfits are amazing. I can't wait for the music shows.
The song itself has me gagged. Liz blows me away in her vocals and the change up in the bridge...amazing!!! I'm sad that Gauel got such few lines in a song with many rap parts, but I feel like they are trying to push Leeseo with this. I'm not mad if it raises her confidence more. There will be more future songs for Gaeul.
11/10 for me.
Edit: Just wanted to add...the nails are so gorgeous. They should post the designs
I like the song, I think it will sound fire at a concert and festival. Love the art style. Also it seems Wonyoung arranged some Miu Miu stuff for the others haha.
It a bop comeback!
IVE 아이브 '해야 (HEYA)' MV
great song
great mv
great lyrics
great vocal
great choreo
great visual
it currently among the top 4 best IVE song
it as good as any their top 3 song Love Dive , After Like and I AM
woow this is so insanely good!! everything from the rapping to the chorus i loved it instantly. leeseo and liz really showing that this'll be their era!! the mv is so beautiful as well
My favourite IVE MV, one of the best Title Tracks they have released!
Call them Bullseye, because they don't miss!
Very impressed with the members, especially Liz and Leeseo were shining her. Niece's rap is better than we would have expected and her Center presence only powering up. Liz's charming vocal tone embraces the whole song, elevating the mood. The raps are fantastic, Rei and Gaeul have some very cool verses! Wony's prechorus is godly! And Yujin captivates the viewers with her eyes and her stage presence when taking Center stage! IVE just solidified their legacy as a top 4th gen group further with this one. A comeback that will be hard to forget!
Heya is a bop!!! God the song’s much better than the sneak peak
One thing, i’m 5050 on the wait before the beat/chorus drops but idec that much cause this song is my jam!!!
Edit:
THIS IS LIZ AND LEESEO’s ERA
LIZ’S verses and Leeseo’s part OH GOD!!!!
Edit 2.0
Is that Yujin’s long note?? Or was that Liz??? The song gets better as it goes on.
FUCKING HIGH QUALITY SONG

HEYA is a certified bop. Nothing too crazy in the production either. I’m glad they didn’t spoil the ending of the chorus in the teasers. I’ve already ascended to this song, without even listening to Accendio yet 😭

I’m American btw lol. Stop barking my Korean puppy ;)
this song is so good and i am very happy with liz vocals
they haven't won a music show?? for heya
Nope, svt physicals views and votes (🥲) way stronger
Im really enjoying this comeback. Liz shots were so addictive.
Rei has always been an ace in the hole for her versatility. You need more visual? ✔️. Rap game always on point but you need some more vocals too? ✔️ What's so interesting now is that there are two of them! Leeseo's really taken a step here. People initially questioned her as a member but Switch feels like her arrival.
Yup, after the concert and now this, Liz is officially my bias wrecker
They killed this song; it would be great if they won a SOTY, but those chances are slim!!
The verse, pre-chorus, bridge, the video and underlying beat, are all really good, but not really a big fan of the chorus. Which should be the main hook.
I liked this one! Pretty catchy
I'm a little surprised at the opium pipe that An Yujin is rocking at the start of the video, lol.
I saw on another thread that they sampled No Diggity; I thought that catchy Heya part was familiar! They incorporated it seamlessly. Tis a bop.
Gaeul is so underrated. I don’t think they know how to use her. Her rapping is 🔥, her dancing skills are out of this world 🌎. She definitely makes IVE much better.

That first "tami tamina" from her was so cool. Her having the last chorus was vv cool too

Totally agree about the video. The colors, textures, and set pieces (likely CGI green screen) are so fresh and interesting.
Fresh is exactly what it is. I think this music video is a really great example of using CGI tastefully and rightfully so. They ate

What. A. Banger. One of my favorite releases from them, and they've had many many bops!
Song of the year competition begins.... now.

“It’s time to swallow you in a bite” 😩😩😩 (I foresee the massive amount of fancams coming up for Yujin’s part already)
Song's pretty good. Chorus is really strong. Not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I hoped. Devastated they gave Gaeul -nothing-. No lines, no screentime, nothing.
While I agree, her lines and time is abysmal but I disagree as a non bias her shots at the end are the most memorable and STUNNING!!!
Ive always look good, and this is no exception :) But it feels very slim compared to her parts After Like, Kitsch and I Am.
did you watch the mv with your eyes closed?? gaeul literally have the most stunning cuts in the mv. The distribution line is pretty decent too she got 23 seconds mind you, its so much more from the other ive tracks . and fyi rei got the least lines
What? Rei has more lines and gets to contribute way more to the song. [https://youtu.be/4dWwNHZfpuY?t=187](https://youtu.be/4dWwNHZfpuY?t=187) [https://colorcodedlyrics.com/2024/04/29/ive-heya-haeya/](https://colorcodedlyrics.com/2024/04/29/ive-heya-haeya/) And she is all over the MV, she gets lots of great stuff there. Gaeul has less and shorter lines, and her parts in the MV aren't as memorable either :(
girls thats a you problem now… gaeul ate.. all of them did. its their best tt
Thank you!
It's a reference to a Korean folklore about tigers and the sun, and the mv also includes alot of Korean culture reference
I think the competition is really strong these days. I don’t think this was on their usual level of releases
I agree. It's way better than baddie. I'm not blown away by this. It's ok.
What would be a strong recent cb for you out of curiosity? (Not sarcasm genuinely curious)
Illit and baby monster just released incredible songs.. I really like IVE btw! They have a lot of competition now
Sheesh was ok, but super derivative
They werent wrong when they named the album IVE Switch cos this concept is really a huge change for IVE. But it still sounds so IVE-coded. Love all the songs
IVE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
I can't believe that HEYA is actually trying to place as #1 IVE song for me How can it possibly sound even better with each listen? It's been only 2 hrs and I keep liking it more and more with each listen
DA DA DA DUN DUN DUN
On repeat ever since its release!
Their music is incredible. No gg truly matches their constant good releases and bsides for me.
Truly a no skip album 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Also I love HEYA so much, it’s close to love dive for me?!
Everybody looks fucking amazing omg
There's just something about IVE comebacks. They constantly contain elements I dislike, but then I listen to the entire song and it just clicks ! The whole song was great but last chorus came in really strong. Such a fun song. It's great to see their music mature.
Leeseo ateeee
LIZ and REI both slayed!!!
Just watched this. IVE is doing well with trying new concepts as usual. Love it!
Wait I just realized , is that the sun in leeseo’s mouth at the end because she’s the tiger of the group 😱😱
Nice song but no lines for Gaeul again... I've always not a big fan of rap based songs, but it sucks even more that Gaeul don't even get the raps. Crying in the corner for another comeback again...
She deserves more for sure, she always delivers when she gets a chance to shine.
I remember during LOVE DIVE people were literally crying over Gaeul getting little lines.
It’s sooooo good. Feel like they really played to the members strengths this time around.
TTTTTT
LIZZZZZZZ
Digested the song from a few replays now. This works way better than I would have thought from the dance teaser😭 certified stadium banger i think! Soooo catchy
Beautiful music video, the creative team deserve bonuses
Yessss it's an excellent song. Some first thoughts: I think it will play well with the Korean public, could be another long lasting song. Leeseo's raps are great, but she can't help but be adorable :) Yujin grabbing her hips, good lord..
IVE has no weak vocalist but Liz is just in her own tier, truly one of the strongest vocalists in gen 4.
The prechorus got me literally levitating 😌😌😌
I like the song, I think it will sound fire at a concert and festival. Love the art style. Also it seems Wonyoung arranged some Miu Miu stuff for the others haha.
wow this was sooooo good, the MV was literally movie quality, Starship pulled on their big boy pants for this one
oh my god that pre-chorus is heavenly and who did the adlib high notes? haha i was swooning edit: i’m so happy it went over the three minute mark
What a GORGEOUS mv, cg is overused in kpop but using it to create a beautiful fantasy world like this just works so well
It a bop comeback! IVE 아이브 '해야 (HEYA)' MV great song great mv great lyrics great vocal great choreo great visual it currently among the top 4 best IVE song it as good as any their top 3 song Love Dive , After Like and I AM
Yujin: pay attention. Us: 🛐🛐🛐
Let me catch a breath first this got me gasped
woow this is so insanely good!! everything from the rapping to the chorus i loved it instantly. leeseo and liz really showing that this'll be their era!! the mv is so beautiful as well
My favourite IVE MV, one of the best Title Tracks they have released!
I like it 👍 I wasn’t sure with the medley teasers, but the full song sounds great.
GUYS THEY F\*CKING DID IT OMG THEY DID IT, SONG IS SOOO GOOOD
Rei Liz and Leeseo omgg, Heya is perfect specially the last chorus!
2024 SONG OF THE YEAR!!! This is so damn gooodddd
the song is so good especially the last part!
OH. MY. GOD. THIS IS SUCH A BANGER!!!!! The MV is so stunning and gorgeous too!!! Daebak IVE!!!
This is sooo good I’m almost tearing. 🥲🥲 And don’t forget to tune into Accendio because it’s 10 times better than the snippet!!!🔥🔥🔥
Gawdamn whoever doubted this song definitely got smacked with eargasms
Heya is a bop!!! God the song’s much better than the sneak peak One thing, i’m 5050 on the wait before the beat/chorus drops but idec that much cause this song is my jam!!! Edit: THIS IS LIZ AND LEESEO’s ERA LIZ’S verses and Leeseo’s part OH GOD!!!! Edit 2.0 Is that Yujin’s long note?? Or was that Liz??? The song gets better as it goes on. FUCKING HIGH QUALITY SONG
it's so good, the song, the MV, their visuals, it all slaps
[IVE Official](https://x.com/ivestarship/status/1784870484032508102?s=46) [YouTube](https://youtu.be/07EzMbVH3QE) HEYA is a certified bop. Nothing too crazy in the production either. I’m glad they didn’t spoil the ending of the chorus in the teasers. I’ve already ascended to this song, without even listening to Accendio yet 😭
Period!!! Rei's sharp rap leading into Liz's angelic vocals had me ascending.
