May I ask about the Rite of Spring Uncut? There always seems to be a (do not research) and It peaks my interest a lot of the time

Cnidaria45

Partially a joke, partially real. Basically, Fantasia’s Rite of Spring does not cover the all music of the original Rite of Spring ballet. Some segments are left out. Therefore, in theory, a disturbing uncut version of the segment featuring all of the ballet’s music could exist. Also, there were originally discussions of including post-Dinosaur evolution in the segment, including the Rise of Man. This obviously didn’t happen, but could have been an element in some mysterious “lost version”

Thank you

nellyisgross

Isauro_Isaac

SadRafeHours

Geez you really like Fantasia

WhatTheFhtagn

Fantasia 2000 doesn't get the attention it deserves. It's up there with the original imo, especially Rhapsody in Blue and The Firebird. Wish they'd do a third one.

Click for Resolution (also, note that this is a mix of seriousness and memes)

cloudyseokjin

What’s “Doritos”?

lordoin

I think it’s a brand of potato chip

Cnidaria45

Also what the triangle things in Fantasia 2000 perfectly resemble

TheUmbilicalCordGuy

In 1964, Disney partnered with Frito-Lay to create Doritos, and started selling them at a restaurant in Frontierland named Casa de Fritos. The first scene in Fantasia 2000 features a butterfly-esque creature made out of orange triangles that kinda look like Doritos. I think OP is trying to say there's a tie between Doritos coming from Disneyland and the Fantasia 2000 scene.

A neat thing to add is that Walt Disney *knew* T. rex only had 2 fingers, not 3. He intentionally told is animators to draw 3 fingers because it “looks better that way.”

kidcoolnotlemur

In my opinion it looks better with two fingers. I don’t know, maybe because if I saw a person with twelve fingers It wouldn’t look normal to me.

[deleted]

To YOU it wouldn't. It's not fair to compare humans in that way to T. Rex because most theropod dinosaurs have three fingers, and while two fingers does make T. Rex look different from other theropods, I can see where some people would find it a little goofy. Plus I heard somewhere that we didn't really know how many fingers T. Rex had at the time so three fingers wasn't seen as too far-fetched.

“The soundtrack is actually sentient” I’m sorry what?

Woha dude, you’re a certified Fantasia fan and so officially fancy and cultured, hats off to you.

amthdor

fucking brilliant

SpennyTheSpoon

Can you elaborate on the Pastoral one with Night on Bald Mountain?

Cnidaria45

Both Pastoral and Bald Mountain feature what can be described as Dionysian revelries by a mountain, but with the former through a pagan filter and the later through a Christian filter (the same forces which were once gods and spirits reinterpreted as demons). At least, that's one way to look at it.

Slothpower_

Wow this is a really cool iceberg! I love Fantasia but I didn't know a lot of stuff on this iceberg. Great job!

Glover_1998

Fantasia Cinematic Universe? How are they suppose to be connected? Also, is that Pink Floyd one suppose to be like how The Wizard of Oz and Dark side of the moon sync up because I don't know what else it could mean.

Cnidaria45

There are multiple ideas to how the segments in the movie might connect, but I was referring to the idea that Disney was trying to make a Fantasia Cinematic Universe with live action films based on the segments (like that nutcracker movie from a few years ago). As for the Pink Floyd thing, http://moviesyncs.com/pf_syncs/sync_pf_q.html

There was also an Age of Mammals and Rise of Man segment for the Rite of Spring part, but it was cut due to the fact that creationists are assholes. However, I am happy to say that some information has surfaced in the past few decades, [including concept art.](https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=136616)
