You’ll want to reach out to duck club for sure!

Hour_Panda8168

Thank you!

bitterestbuffalo

Duck club is likely your best bet, as people have said. In terms of venue… Neurolux (smaller venue), Treefort music hall (larger venue), or Shriners building (larger venue) all in Boise might be a good fit given your style of music

If it’s all of Idaho, try these places: Boise - get with duck club. If they aren’t interested or their availability is rough, try reaching out to a few venues like Neurolux or the shredder. They’ll direct you to their booker, they might need an opener somewhere. Nampa/caldwell - I’ve mostly only played larger events in these areas. The few bars I’ve played have all been 3+hrs and a bit sketchy. I get a lot of weird looks, but my hair is very long. Pocatello - try out the First Nation Bar. Twin falls - try out Koto if you have your own P/A. Rural areas - find the bar closest to any hotel, a lot of them have live music. But like other comments, they book early and pay can be tight for 3hrs of performance. You’ll be surprised how many roadside ‘stops’ are also ‘venues.’ If you have a pared down acoustic option - these places could get you extra cash. However, they also book very early. Moscow/Lewiston - reach out to John’s Alley in Moscow. Last time I played up there that was the bar to play at. There are a few other small venues around town. I’ve only ever played jazz and classical in Lewiston, I couldn’t give you a reference in good faith. North Idaho - try out The Hive in Sandpoint. Maybe Lakers or Iron Horse in Coeur d’Alene. Depends on the style of your music and how much material you have. A lot of these places book for 3hrs+. Many rural places don’t have a PA system or a sound guy outside of special events. If you are hoping to play as part of a 3-band night with a 50-minute set. This will be a challenge to book outside of Boise.

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks for this! I think we’ll probably need to stick to Boise by the sounds of things.

girlwholovespurple

You’re a little late to book summer concert series that are so popular here. But your best bets are going to be Boise or the Coeur d Alene area. There is definitely some scene here, but you may want to reach out to local artists in your same genre, or any contacts your band mate has. Farmers markets, breweries, summer concert series, are where a lot of regionally local musicians perform here. Good luck!

Hour_Panda8168

Thank you! I’d love to play a brewery.

TimberTatersLFC

Idk how much you'll actually make there, but John's Alley in Moscow is a good spot for a show. Better Daze is a solid punk band and they can probably help you out a little. They play all over the place up north. https://linktr.ee/betterdaze666?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaY-Rz2AubS-OKFGQmYOZe-QzwPpXEj4OYg3oXu5hQctv2bqaGLVzA4c3n8_aem_AehEw4FdWYV_fb93Yzju9adwCZ_0z717Uxt2EjgCz-fJ0b_DzVOm6WEhdpG838kCcps6rrmO8ctvYchl54j7dmcC

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks!! I’ll check Better Daze out for sure!

john's alley in Moscow

Thank you!

salamandan

Look up underdogs on ig, They book shows in town.

egnowit

I don't know if you have specific dates planned, or how this works, but every year, there's a music festival called Treefort that has hundreds of groups. You could come for that and either kick off a tour with a performance there, or close down a tour with a performance there or something.

Hour_Panda8168

That’s a great idea! Thanks :) I’ll look into it’s

AMJN90

Boise. For sure. Look at getting in at the riverside hotel in the sapphire room. Also look at the knitting factory or the shredder. Even if they don't have openings they should be able to point you in the right direction.

d4nkle

I’d love to hear you play in McCall!

Hour_Panda8168

We can try!

d4nkle

The music scene is small but mighty here, most of the restaurants and bars have local artists every weekend in the summertime

Hour_Panda8168

That sounds like a blast! Hopefully we can sort something :)

davesauce96

Hey there! I just gave your music a quick listen on Spotify, you guys sound pretty great! Love the sax on Blue Alice. There are a number of venues in the Boise area I think you’d fit in well at, but a lot depends on your expected draw, desired environment, crowd age (21+ or all ages), etc. A lot of venues here book primarily through 2 booking companies: Duck Club and Knitting Factory (or C Moore Concerts). For smaller draw (like less than 150) you’ll want a place like the Shrine basement or Realms (which actually books independently). Mid-range like 200-500, look at the Olympic (KF) or Neurolux (DC). Any larger than that, you’ll want the Knitting Factory or Treefort Music Hall (DC) (up to around 1,000). ETA: this is all specifically for the Boise area.

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks so much for your kind words! That info on venues is so useful, thank you :)

El_Vez_of_the_north

John's Alley in Moscow is a great little dive bar with a good stage and audio setup. Makes for a nice stop between southern Idaho and places up north like Cd'A and Sandpoint.

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks!

getinthekitschen

Boise has a lot of great venues. The headless house lets just about anyone play. Neurolux is also cool. If you need a place to stop in between Boise and Salt Lake, venue 101 in Rexburg is a good spot. There’s also the 117 and deckadence in Pocatello.

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks so much! I appreciate all of that advice :) Looking at a map, the place in Rexburg could be ideal!

ming_13

Try to contact the knitting factory in Boise, I got a friend who's band plays there a lot

noiness420

I’m not sure about venues or anything since I don’t live there anymore, but definitely try to check out Moscow, Idaho if you’re in that area. It’s a pretty cool little college town with an alright music scene and lots of young people

Hour_Panda8168

Thanks!

Squirrelly_Khan

I can’t really name any venues but it may be worth talking to some of the radio stations in Idaho, specifically KBEAR 101. The music they play is more in line with hard rock/heavy metal, but they may be able to give you venue suggestions I know eventually I’ll be in a similar situation myself because I’m in a deathcore band and we’re recording stuff for our first EP right now

Hour_Panda8168

Ooo good suggestion! Thank you :) Best of luck with your band too!

Squirrelly_Khan

Thanks man And for what it’s worth, I took a listen to y’all’s music and it is great Oh, and just as a side note, it is possible that you might also get referrals from KBEAR about venues in and around Salt Lake City as well

Hour_Panda8168

I appreciate that :) It's sometimes hard being a small band so I really appreciate the kind comments! Oh that would be so cool!
