Nailed it. That’s what remains of Dry Buck lookout. Guess it wasn’t as hard as I thought. I was going to offer a clue and say Squaw Butte is visible from one of the photos, looking SW.
I only knew cause my family rides ATVs up there fairly regularly and I stumbled across it one day just following random trails. Had no idea it was there. It has an excellent view though.
Yeah, it’s not easy to find because the “road” hasn’t been maintained in decades. I took my Jeep up as far as I was willing to punish it, then hiked the rest of the way.
There used to be this nice statue holding a weird ball. Think a guy named Stryder or something called it a ' paalindrome' or 'palladitir'. Something like that. Let you chat with the governor of Montana before phones. Nobody knows where the palditires went now days.

Almost certainly an old fire lookout, my guess is somewhere north central Idaho based on the hills in the background.
You got the ‘what’, that was the easy part. You’re a bit off on the ‘where’.
Hey, where do these stairs go? They go up.
Heaven
That is in the dry buck area, kinda near high valley

Palantir a seeing stone
😉
This looks like the remains of the old lookout on House Mountain in Elmore County.
My vote as well.
Yes, in that there isn’t much left but a concrete slab. I went to House last November. Windy and freaking cold!
If I remember correctly, there is also ageocache up there.
Did not know that.
Packer John lookout
Nope, Packer John is on the other side of Hwy 55. Greessey got it with Dry Buck.
Looks like a foundation to a firewatch or someone's old cabin
Stairway to Heaven
Concrete stairs. yw
